-Welcome to the Kanto Region!-

Welcome! By clicking on this post, you have decided to start your wondrous journey as a Trainer in the Kanto region. Your first stop would probably be Pallet Town, where you'd receive a starter Pokemon from Prof. Oak, the authority on Pokemon and their relationships with humanity. Choose wisely - your starter Pokemon will become your long-standing partner on your journey.

More than likely, you're going to take the Kanto Gym Challenge. The first town you'll come across is the wondrous city of Viridian, but if I might make a suggestion, you might want to start in Pewter City, home of the world-renowned Pewter Museum of Science, a vault of prehistoric secrets . . . Pewter also houses the first Gym recognized by the Kanto League - the Leader here is ???, and she is a master of ???.

No doubt your next destination would be the next Gym. But where would it be? Cerulean City, of course! In addition to being the home of Bill, the famous PC system creator and the always beautiful Cerulean Cape, the azure City houses the second Gym on your journey. The leader in Cerulean is ???, and they will no doubt blow you away with ??? if you're not careful.

Between Cerulean City and your next destination would be the mysterious Mt. Moon, home of the extraterrestrial Clefairy and Clefable. It's said that once a month, when the moon is full and bright, groups of these Pokemon dance around a large rock in the center of the mountain, perhaps even leaving an offering behind . . .

Okay, so you've gotten through Mt. Moon. After a little sojourn down Route 5, you're probably in Saffron City by now. Saffron has many fine attractions - the massive Silph Co. building, the Fighting Dojo (where the Gym Leaders come to train on certain days), and the Magnet Train (just to name a few). However, you're probably in Saffron for your fifth Gym challenge, hmm? Well, you happen to be in luck - Uria Coldfire, an ice-cold master when it comes to Ice-type Pokemon, will most likely be your opponent. Don't worry - he's a big softie, really. :3

Three badges under your belt...where to next? Well, you're got no less than three paths, but let's head east to Lavender Town. While there is no Gym here, the Radio Tower that services all of Kanto, a sister to the one in Goldenrod, is built upon the spot the Pokemon Tower - a large, multi-storey Pokemon graveyard, home to spirits and ghosts of all kinds - and there are still rumors you can hear a lonely Marowak crying at night . . .

Unless you've decided to take the long journey south-west to Fuschia City, you're probably backtracked through Saffron on to Celadon City by now. Celadon is famous for its gorgeous gardens, massive department store (the original, in fact), and a Game Corner which spawned the one in Goldenrod (though remnants still remain of the Team Rocket base). Oh, and the Gym? Well, a lil' birdie tells me that ???, a ??? is king/queen of this slice of civilization . . .

The third Gym on your League Challenge would probably be the Gym in Vermillion City (probably the fifth you'll come across). You'll have a time of it here - the Leader is ???, and they're no slouch in the use of ???. Vermillion is also known for the Kanto chapter of the Pokemon Fan Club (including a creepy old man who gives children sweets if they listen to his every word), as well as - once a year - being host for the S.S. Anne, the historical ocean liner which sails the world.

For your sixth Gym, you have a bit of exercise to do, heading south down the pulse quickening steep Bicycle Path before you reach the location of your sixth Gym challenge, Fuschia City. Perhaps after checking out the Pal Park, home to many strange and wonderful Pokemon from far off lands, you can challenge Leader ???. Be warned - their ??? may leave you with a bruised ego . . .

After departing Fuschia by water of air, you'll probably spot the mysterious Seafoam Islands which, up until a few months ago, housed the Cinnabar Gym - now, however, it seems to be all but deserted. Head on west, and you'd probably arrive on Cinnabar Island. Typical for an island playing host to an active volcano (which erupted some years ago, most trainers coming out of here are Fire-type enthusiasts - or, as I like to think of them, pyro's. However, ???, the ??? specialist of Cinnabar Gym rather bucks the trend . . .

Finally, you can head back up north, home, to Pallet Town. But, before you revel in your victories, your penultimate destination lies just ahead - you've come full circle, all the way back to Viridian City, the first place you visited, and the penultimate test of your power. Never mind the trainer academy - that place is for people with names like Leeroy Jenkins. The real attraction of this little City is the Viridian Gym, headed by Lilian Astrange - rumor has it that she specializes in the use of a particular weather team . . .

So you've beaten the eight Gyms of Kanto. Where are you going to show off your newfound power as a Trainer? Where else? The Indigo Plateau! The men and women of the Elite Four will make the Gym Leaders you've battled seem like young Trainers. Want to know who you're up against? Gladly~.

E4, First Position - Devyn Monroe, Water-type
E4, Second Position - Brandon Copeland, Steel-type
E4, Third Position - Theodore 'Teddy' O-Donnell, Fire-type
E4, Fourth Position - Shiori Ralston, Ice-type

Should you manage to defeat the Elite Four, one final challenge awaits you - the Champion herself.

Champion - Emily Milliardo, Sandstorm-based team

If you defeat the Champion, your position as a Trainer will be all but solidified. You and your partners will be forever immortalized in the Hall of Fame, and you will have finally gained the respect you fought so hardly for on your journey.

Now that you've become Kanto's new Champion, what lies in store for you? Well...that's for you to determine, now isn't it? Although . . . if I had to suggest, Johto's rather shiny . . .
