Since Plot rp is rather new to the Realm, it has been suggested that a basic "What is Plot rp?" thread would be a good idea; and naturally I, a great lover of explanations, totally supported this suggestion. So, for your great enlightenment...information!!

1. What is plot rp?
Plot rp is just that: rp based around some sort of plot, story, or theme.

2. And this is different from the regular Realm rp how???
Paraphrasing and smooshing together various past explanations and throwing in a bit of my own: the current thread rp is, on average, disorganized. I'm sure that everyone is familiar with this particular layout:

Yuma 1: Appears in some random setting, doing some random action
Yuma 2: Appears on the scene doing an equally random action
Yumas 1 & 2: Meet, talk and/or play a game or indulge in some other method of passing the time, then go their seperate ways when one/both of the rping owners have to leave

Afterwards: The yumas may or may not remember the rp having taken place; it's all random meetings, and the owners are free to move on without having really accomplished anything


Now, this is a fine and dandy style of rp; Lord knows that I use it all the time myself xd But there are some people in the Realm who simply would prefer, or at least like a good option for, more seriosu rp. Rp that doesn't begin and end in the span of an hour (here I'm generalizing; I know that many people save rp posts and continue them at a later date, as do I, but in general, most rps don't last long) and has a real story, plot, quest, mission, etc. You know what I mean without any more synonyms.

So basically, plot rp will be more long lasting and more thought out; the various rps will be based around a plot of some sort with guidelines laid out in the begininng by the creators, and these guidelines are to be followed by any and all participants.

3. But I like the current style of rp and don't want to change!! crying
Don't worry, just because there is now the option of plot rps doesn't mean that the old type or rp is going to be banned or anything! Due to their greater complexity, plot rps are probably going to be confined to the rp subforum; people can continue to rp however they want in the thread, IC, OC, and do whatever silliness comes to mind. What we're doing here is creating options, not killing old friends *snugs old rp style*

4. Sounds nifty...but I am confused about plot rps! How do I join in one? Can I start my own?

First off, certainly you can create your own plot rps! All you have to do is come up with a plot of some sort (for example: The Mystical Realm is being invaded by evil monsters that are terrorizing/killing wherever they go!) and create a thread for it, here in the rp subforum, with all the pertinent information (for example, if it's a private rp between you and one other person, or if it's open to everyone to join; if only a certain type of yuma are allowed to participate, like only reindeer yuma; the setting of the rp, like in the mountains, and other information that's necessary to rp. Then it's off you go, and have fun!

If you don't feel ambitious enough to start your own rp, then you could always join an existing rp (as long as you're eligible. If an rp is labeled PRIVATE then of course it wouldn't do to waltz in and start rping without an invite). Scope out what the plot is, and see if you're interested, and, as long as you're eligible; like, don't post in a private rp without asking for permission; or if the rp is only open to bunny yuma and you have none. Make sure to read the information for participants before joining, but if you done so and all is good, then jump right in! The beauty of plot rp is that people can join at various stages of the action, and it will usually work out!

5. I want to join in one, but there aren't any going on! crying
Well...be patient with us. This is still a new concept, and we're trying to get organized and sort everything out before starting any official rps. But I know of at least one major plot rp in the works that will be opened as soon as it's ready.

But don't let the lack of official rp stop you! This forum is open for business; anyone and everyone is welcomed to start their own rps here right now, if they feel so inclined!

6. You keep saying "we"; who is this mysterious "we"? Are you trying to be royal, or are you just a schitzo???
While I do love the royal "we" (saying "we" and meaning "I" for those who might not know the term), there really is a group behind this particular we! If I might direct your attention to this little piece of the Mystical Realm first page, in the staff post:

Mia, in her eminant wonderfulness and generally knowledgeability, has appointed three people to this little "we"; namely, myself, Steal, and Caitlyn Hellstorm. If you look at the bits bolded in that quote, you'll note the description "Rp Manager/Asst. Rp Manager" with some reference to the guild; basically, the three of us are responsible for this little bit of forum (and talk about pressure!)

7. Ok. So what do the three of you do that warrants the titles?
Basically, we oversee the rp here; make sure that people pay attention to the guidelines (both the general guidelines listed in another sticky and those in the independant rp threads). We'll be setting up some largeish plot rps, and, perhaps most importantly, we'll answer questions. If you have any questions about some aspect of this forum or anything related, don't hesitate to pm one of us, or post in this thread where one of us will answer as soon as we see it.
