I've still never decided whether I liked X. Because the hero is the worst character, imo. But I like the art and the action. I've been told the series rocks, though.

Puni Puni Poemy - Movie - Comedy/Insanity
If you liked Excel Saga, Puni is terrific. It's even more fast paced, and it's from the same people.

Steamboy - Movie - Drama
Akira is a classic. Steamboy was made by the same person, and took ten years to finish. However, they're nothing alike. They are both good, though.

First, I have to second Berserk for it is my personal favourite.
Indeed, Akira is a must see as far as anime movies go.
