Continuing with the theme, lets see what comes up here. In this case, Just suggest movies. But if you suggest a foreign film mention it, because that can be helpful.

Pi, by the makers of Requiem for a dream, is also terrific.

The Brown Bunny - This one is really slow and feels dry and empty all the way through. Then when you get to the end, you find out why it feels that way. Not a movie for the younger ones or the easily offended, what with the on-screen oral sex scene. But I loved the movie.

Virgin - It's at the far end of independent, but the lower production values help add to the gritty dramatic feel of the movie.
