Jatai listened silently to the crashing sound of the large waterfall behind him. He stood on the wooden bridge that connected one side of the valley to the other. Gazing to his right, he saw the large statue of the First Hokage. To his left, was the statue of Madara, facing square off with the First Hokage's statue. For a few moments, he stood just standing there, paying close attention to the feel of the air made moist by the enormous waterfall. The air was somewhat cold and damp, yet failed to bother Jatai in any way.

"Perhaps the bridge isn't the best spot to wait."

Jatai spoke quietly to himself. The next moment, he jumped over the rope of the bridge, and began to plummet down into the valley, with the water was flowing away from the waterfall. As he came to a landing, water splashed up 360 degrees around him, yet the soles of his shoes remained on top of the water, instead of him sinking downward. His reflection in the water was made distorted by the water's flow and his recent landing. He then stood again, waiting intently for the arrival of his opponent.

Jatai moved his left hand up and nudged his index finger against his forehead. He then responded to Link.

"Envy and jealousy leads to superiority complexes. A rivalry is formed most of the time because of jealousy. One rival may have a trait that the other desires, while at the same time the other feels the same way. Their goals as rivals are then conflicted, each one trying to hold onto the thing that makes the other envious, while at the same trying to reach superiority over the other one's trait. Of course, this is just the majority of cases, as sometimes rivalries are formed by hatred, due to contradicted goals. In either case, rivalry is a bond in itself, and the two are tied, destined, chained to clash, and to challenge each other. Heart's race at the inquietude and the anxiety, the heated desire to show who's more capable. But then again, in my case, I don't really feel a 'thrill' and thus can't find myself doing things out of enjoyment or a rush."

Jatai moved his feet a little, to turn and face parallel with Link. The water he stood on, made a single, extremely small sine wave that traveled away from him, with his feet as the epicenter. He stood facing Link, bringing his left hand down, so he could react if Link made a move.

Jatai's expression showed no response to Link's "revelation." Even if he couldn't completely understand human emotions or feelings, he just had some kind of idea in his head that made him believe that Link wasn't being honest at that moment. However, he figured it to be more "intriguing" to play along with Link's act.

"Well if that's how it is,...I'll bury you!"

Jatai removed Wuyari from off the belt that strapped it to his back. The sharper end of the blade glimmered in the light of the falling sun. Jatai looked focused on Link, he held both hands on the handle of the blade which was parallel to his right shoulder, so that the very end of the blade, where the tip was, was facing directly at Link.

"Heh, if what he were saying were true, I would've been dead already, as there would've been ample opportunities for him to kill me, while I was off guard. For one, after I battled Amonojaku. After I tried to slay the Toyouke Clan. As well, considering the differed principles of Raine and Sozoku, if what Link is saying were true, he would be working under Raine, due to Zen's untimely demise and the root Isshido's obsession with the sacredness of blood. But that would also mean that Link would be working with Shino, whom he knew little about at first. Clearly there are some loopholes in his story, but it would be interesting to see him go all out against me."

Jatai took his left hand and placed it on top of Wuyari's handle, while his right hand held the center of the handle. It faced parallel to the ground now. Then Jatai swiftly pushed the blade to his right side, to parry Link's strike. However, this motion only worked as a defensive strike, so Jatai couldn't use his blade for an instant counter strike.

"Well then, let's see if he really does go all out, or if that's just an act too."

Jatai then pushed his right leg forward, making a small splash in the water beneath. This motion allowed him to begin to bring his left knee upward. Now, Jatai was forging a counter-strike without the blade by charging towards Link's abdomen with his left knee.

Jatai stood quiet on top of the water, cracking his knuckles for a moment. His hands separated, giving the other space. With his eyes shut, he made five hand seals and began to radiate with the energy of his own chakra. Separating his hands again he raised his right hand into the sky, palm faced up.

"Any chicanery you're planning down there is futile, Link"

The energy radiating from Jatai focused itself to a single point, his right hand which he held in the air. His hand then began to spark with electricity, then explode with raiton chakra, roaring loudly and crackling like natural lightning, unlike the chirping of a Chidori. Despite the noise and the large amount of pressure that was growing in his hand, Jatai held a calm and straight expression with his eyes closed as if trying to fall asleep. Though in reality, he was meditating while perform his technique.

"Don't take me for a credulous opponent."

Jatai's technique began to roar and spark wildly, some sparks flying incredibly close to the water's surface. Jatai's hair shadowed immensely over his eyes as the sparks of lightning created a blue hue surrounding him. The force of Jatai's jutsu caused the surface of the water to radiate in the form of consecutive waves moving outward, around Jatai.

"He's going to charge straight out of the water, or at least...something will."

Jatai's body began to glow bright blue. The water beneath Jatai's feet splashed outward as he placed pressure on his feet so as to soar up in the air. Despite his new displacement, the force of his technique still created waves in the water below, as it crackled even more intensely with the dangerous power of lightning, booming like the ominous sound of thunder. His body still glowed brightly with a light shade of blue as he hovered at the peak of his jump, staring downward intently with his wujigan, waiting for the first signs of an offensive move.
