This is the
Trophy room!
The Trophy Room is a room on the Third Floor of the Hogwarts Castle. Awards, trophies, cups, plates, shields, statues, and medals are kept in crystal glass displays in this room. This room also contains a list of Head Boys and Head Girls. Prominently displayed are Hogwarts Awards for Services to the School, with known recipients being Tom Marvolo Riddle, Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Probably, in 1995, the Triwizard Cup was placed here as well. The Trophy Room is connected to an Armour Gallery. A portrait of Brutus Scrimgeour hangs on one of the walls, hiding a passageway to the fourth floor corridor.

In 1991, Harry and Ron agree to have a wizard's duel with Draco Malfoy and Vincent Crabbe in the Trophy Room. However, the latter pair never show up. This leads to Harry and Ron as well as Hermione (who joined to make sure that if they were caught, they would tell the truth) and Neville Longbottom (who forgot the password to the Gryffindor Tower) nearly being caught by Argus Filch. That in turn led to the discovery of Fluffy and the trapdoor.

In 1992, Ron was given detention by Professor McGonagall to clean the trophies in the room with Filch without magic for crashing the Flying Ford Anglia into the Whomping Willow. Ron had a slug-vomiting attack from an earlier backfired charm, and got Tom Riddle's trophy all covered with slug and slime, resulting in him to clean it repeatedly. It was from this incident that Ron learned about Riddle and later told it to Harry and Hermione to link it to Riddle's diary. Despite this useful incident, Ron still highly resented this detention.

I shall give out a few trophies for excellent behavior perhaps, and your name shall go in here. You may post in here as you like, the fourth post is reserved for those who recieve awards.

Barnabus Finkley Prize for Exceptional Spell-Casting
Albus Dumbledore won this before his eighteenth birthday.

"Dangerous" Dai Commemorative Medal
Given each year to the Quidditch player who has been the most reckless, in honor of "Dangerous" Dai Llewellyn, a notably reckless player for the Caerphilly Catapults.

Gold Medal for Ground-Breaking Contribution to the International Alchemical Conference in Cairo
Albus Dumbledore won this before his eighteenth birthday.

Medal for Magical Merit
Given to Tom Riddle 50 years ago. Since Tom was one of the brightest wizards ever to attend Hogwarts, this award may be one for achievement in academic studies.

Most Charming Smile award
This somewhat silly award is given out by Witch Weekly Magazine. It has been won quite often by Gilderoy Lockhart.

award for special services to the school
Gold shield awarded to Tom Riddle for exposing Hagrid as the one who opened the Chamber of Secrets and released the monster.

Harry and Ron received Special Awards for Service to the School after they rediscovered the Chamber and defeated the basilisk (and the memory-Tom Riddle as well)

House Cup
Won each year by the Hogwarts House that has earned the most House Points.

Quidditch Cup
Won each year by the top House Quidditch team

Triwizard Cup
Awarded to the winner of the Triwizard Tournament and held as an honor by the victorious school until the next tournament. Harry Potter won this his 4th year

trophy for the winner of the annual broom race in Sweden
Shaped like a Swedish Short Snout dragon (since the race runs through the Swedish Short Snout reservation, which thins the ranks of contestants somewhat)

Gryffindor Quidditch shield
In PS/f, a shield is shown with several names on it. At the top it says "Gryffindor" and prominently displayed in the center is a small shield with James Potter's name on it, listing him as playing Seeker in 1972. The other names are R. J. H. King (1969) and M. G. McGonagall (1971). Since Rowling has stated that James played Chaser, this plaque cannot be considered canon (although, as several fans have noted, there's no particular reason why James couldn't have played more than one position during his years on the team). Since we know that James was born 1960, this would suggest that he won the award early in his years at Hogwarts.

~Honours

Order of Merlin
The Order of Merlin is a great honour, bestowed on wizards who have demonstrated their devotion to the principles of living harmoniously with Muggles. The Order was created by Merlin, the famous wizard of the Middle Ages, to pass laws against using magic against Muggles . It is likely that the true meaning of the Order has been somewhat lost over the years, since Sirius Black's grandfather had been given an Order of Merlin, First Class. The medal was found on the drawing room shelves during the cleaning of that room. Sirius said he'd gotten it for donating a lot of gold. Others who have received the Order include:

~Cornelius Fudge - Order of Merlin, First Class

~Newt Scamander - Order of Merlin, Second Class

~Peter Pettigrew - Order of Merlin, awarded by the Ministry posthumously, or so they believed

~Gilderoy Lockhart - Order of Merlin, Third Class

With my sandwich doing its best to leave my gut, I walked into the Trophy Room, and was greeted by the sights of centuries of trophies and other rewards that the school had accumulated. Pulling out my watch I saw I still had some time before Aludra would be appearing, so I stalked up and down the many isles looking over the awards.

Aludra Yvette...

Just outside of the Trophy Rooms doorway, Aludra brushed the bits of roll from her mouth and clothes before she stepped inside. Aludra was wearing typical muggle clothes rather then her Hogwarts uniform figuring she would be more comfortable while being 'punished'. There wasnt much else to do to her that would punsih her enough, Kenneth had did that yesterday. She looked around the room and didnt see anyone waiting for her... she knew she was pretty late. Maybe Kenneth had forgotten about her detention and decided not to give her any. Hopeful, she walked deeper into the room.

I heard someone entering the room, I slowly walked back to the entrance to see Aludra standing there looking around. She was wearing a set of Muggle cloths something I hadn't seen on her before. I felt a pain in my heart at seeing her, it wanted me to run over and tell her that I was sorry, but my brain soon kicked in and pushed that feeling back down. She attack Alex even after I told her not too, this was not a relationship thing it was student, she misbehaved in class and now was paying for it. Stepping around the pillar I simply said, "Your late, don't let that happen again or I'll make you stay even longer." I turned and started to walk off, halfway down the isle I shouted, "Follow me." Once we reached the area of the Trophy Room that Aludra would be spending her detentions in I turned around to look at her. I intentionally avoided her eyes I didn't want to look at them, not only would they ensnare me like they always did, I still couldn't bare to look at the sadness they held behind them for what I was doing to her. "Tonight and every-night for the next week you will be cleaning a different section of the House awards. Tonight you start with Gryffindor's, you will polish the awards and then sort them by year, you will not use magic." I pointed to my left at a large container of polish and a bucket of rags. "You can get started now, I'll give you a break after after an hour and a half, you will clean for three hours and then you can leave."

Aludra Yvette...

Aludra jaw twitched as she heard 'Professor Reynolds' scolding her being late, it wasnt her fault. "So sorry Professor. Next time I'll be sure to skip my meals to be hear bright and early." It made her sick to talk to him, she didnt even want to hear or see him after what happened in the classroom. Not only was she being wrongfully punished but she was being scolded for his doings. It was her fault she was up half the night miserable over him. In doing that she woke up late and nearly missed supper. She shook her head as a mix of emotions flooded her and she regretfully followed her teacher down the isle of trophies. Each one sparkled and glittered in her face as she walked. They all looked pretty well shined and clean to her...

They stopped in front of a number of large class cases filled with different types of trophies... there would be no possible way for her to finish this in 3 hours, the boy was completely mad. "I dont want a break." she said simply, walking past him to go get the large container of polish and a bucket filled with various sized rags. Aludra opened the large case and carefully started to remove each trophy, being extra careful not to break or scratch them in any way. Since he wants his house trophies to be taken care of before anyone elses, she didnt dare mark one of them in case that ment an extra months worth of unnessecary detentions.

"No you don't have to skip meals to be on time." I said after Aludra made the comment, even though I had to punish her for what she did, I didn't want her skipping dinner to just get here on time. "If you don't want a break then that's fine." I gave Aludra a longing look when she stepped past me and started to polish the awards. I let out a sigh and moved a short distance away and sat down on nearby bench to watch her clean.

Aludra Yvette...

She sighed as she sat down on the floor with her bucket and polish to clean the stupid trophies. She didnt even know why they needed to be cleaned... they all looked they were just polished yesterday by probably another student in trouble. Aludra got a little dab of polish on a small rage and began shining the smallest of the awards. She couldnt help but notice Kenneth had decided to sit back and watch her clean. 'I hope you enjoy this you git.' she thought to herself as she violently rubbed the little trophy.

I watched as Aludra violently cleaned the awards I couldn't help but wish this hadn't come to pass. If that little toerag Antoinette hadn't acted up in class things would not have escalated to this point. It took me a few minutes to see that Aludra was sitting on the cold floor, 'well I can't have her sitting on the floor like that I don't care how much this is suppose to be punishment.' I reached into my robes and pulled out my wand and conjured up a table and chair for her to sit and work at, and then sent them flying over to her. "Aludra you don't have to sit on the floor, please sit at the table and work."

Aludra shook her head, ignoring the table and chair and kept working. "No. Apparently I did something wrong in class and I have to learn from it. Stop trying to make this easy and kindly leave me alone Professor." her voice faltered at the end as she quickly silenced herself and continued to work on the polishing. She just wanted to get the detentions over with.
