I figured I'd post this here to see what people think. It is why I am decided to become more interesting in my spiritual side.

My patron Goddess is Bast. I made it a point to ask Bast for some kind of vision the other night before I went to bed. I have had so few spiritual experiences in my life that I wanted to at least give this a try.

I didn't see Bast as she normally appears to me but I did "see" two things that were odd.

I was in and out of the state before sleep and suddenly I had one of those "jerked awake" moments and for a split second I thought I saw some golden flaming text on my wall to the left of where my recently acquired Bast picture is sitting waiting for a frame. It was only there for a fraction of a second and I couldn't make out anything it said as I didn't have time. What I saw was a small paragraph of a very swirling kind of text. Similar to that elvish script from lord of the rings movies. It was golden and flaming and in some form of calligraphy. Unfortunately I have no idea what it said because it was gone so fast. This left me with a WTF feeling but I quickly passed it off as my eyes playing tricks.

A few moments later I rolled over to sleep again and saw an image in my mind. It wasn't something I was thinking of or creating myself it just appeared there for a moment. It was a wild looking woman. Kind of Elven like. I could tell she was naked but I could only see her back and face. She had long scraggly black hair and some kind of tattoo on her back. The tattoo appeared to be some intricate pattern of lines. I think she had a head band and very pointed ears and very light colored eyes almost like she was blind but I don't want to say that she was. I didn't see any wings but I wont say she didn't have any. She was very wild looking. I never heard of Bast appearing in a form like this, and I know it wasn't just the thoughts of a lonely man wishing there was a woman like that next to him. This literally just popped in my head fully formed with no assistance from me.

I did some research on this kind of female image the following day and I am pretty sure it was Artemis appearing to me. Artemis is sometimes associated with Bast. What really blew me away was I found out that Artemis is sometimes known as Cynthia and Cynthia is the name that I long ago gave to the female half of my spiritual side. This is something I can explain further if anyone is interested.

I know some of you will think this is silly and crazy and all that but all of these things seem to add up to each other, and I am very skeptical of stuff like this, but I can't deny these things happened last night.

I think my request was answered last night even if I didn't think it was when all this happened.

Let us know how your journey proceeds....it is always good to show the variety of experiences we have. Keep an open mind and ask questions....sometimes the Gods and Goddesses answer.

I know I am bouncing around here a bit on this but I am actually starting to think it might have been Athena and not Artemis I saw that day.

My rituals and prayers to Artemis seem to go without much response, yet I have been drawn to Athena my whole life.

At this point I don't want to commit to either until I can reconcile this. The problem is I don't recall Athena ever appearing as a wild woman like in that vision.

Does anyone here know of any instances of that? Or am I totally looking in the wrong place?

I saw a woman while on a spirit journey once. The experience began as a guided meditation; I am prone to get off the prescribed path and wander off on my own during these things. She beckoned but did not speak to me. She was accompanied by one of my spirit animals, a wolf, and I distinctly remember what she looked like and what she was wearing. It wasn't until some time later, months, I think, that I suddenly saw her image on a tarot card, Diana in the Goddess Tarot.

I guess I would await your next message or vision or just be alert for seeing her again. Sometimes wondering about her is part of the journey and you find out more in its own time. Frustrating, I know, but getting pieces bit by bit may be its own learning experience.

...Why can't the gods just identify themselves outright? I mean, srsly. confused

The ancients saw the voice of the Gods and Goddesses in what are, to us, natural occurrences. In its way, Science has demystified the natural order for us so now we have no clear way to hear deity. So many spiritual paths teach 'mysteries' and, I suspect, these mysteries are about how that particular religious tradition speaks to their deities. Personally, I think much of contact with the Gods and Goddesses involves learning to recognize them and learning to listen. As an example, if Jesus came again to walk among us would he come as a shining prince, a supermodel of a man or as dirty homeless person? If Odin came among us I'm almost certain he would come as a wandering man - there is a tradition of him being the stranger in need.

Interesting question.

Artemis has not appeared to me in anyway again and I feel nothing from her anymore. I am assuming she just wanted to send me a message which I understand as a message to keep writing my story and try for my degree.

I wonder why she gave me that message and not Bast who is my patron Goddess?

Odd but then they tend to be odd sometimes
