No idea where to put this so I'll put it here. biggrin Maybe we can use this thread as the suggestion thread.
Can we perhaps also includes the roads in the forums? Like Route 42 etc? I understand making every road would perhaps be a bit too much, so maybe 1 thread called Routes in every region would be nice. Just so we can roleplay being en route instead of having to go into a city just to talk to each other.

I was thinking about that, maybe just include the surrounding routes in the cities that they're closest too?

This is only a suggestion, but why don't we come up for a mechanic for finding shiny pokemon? Serebii.net says that the chances of finding a shiny pokemon are 1 in 8,192. The way I see it, we could do this two ways:
1) Someone (most likely Xander) will generate a random number between 1 and 8,192. When encountering a wild Pokemon, the other roleplayers will also generate a random number between 1 and 8,192. If you match the number, the Pokemon will be shiny. Changing the number or not after it's matched would be up to Xander.
2) When encountering a wild Pokemon, roleplayers will randomly generate two numbers (taking up two OoC posts). If the numbers match, the Pokemon will be shiny.
What do you guys think? Is it a good idea?

I'll be honest, I'm not too interested in shiney Pokemon, but if others want it I see no problem. :3
Personally I've been wondering how to make a battle system. We could pretend levels don't exist so that all battles are fair. All Pokemon would have, I don't know, 100 hp. Then we could roll certain dice (a different die if a move is super effective) to see how much hp gets knocked off.

If you want to add the routes, feel free to do so. I just made to cities as a starting point. I had a feeling this guild would always be a work in progress.
I like the idea for finding shiny pokemon, but I really think we need an idea for finding pokemon in general first.
The battle system is something I'll be actively working on and testing. I know people will want to fight each other, so I'm going to put a lot of work into that. For now, just be civil.

The Poke'mon RP's that I've been involved with in the past have always just had the sort of turn-based battles that are very free-form. They work very well, but only if both people are willing to take hits. Those are the kind of battles that the two people involved mutually decide who wins.

I agree that both sides need to be able to accept that they can lose. xP There's no fun in fighting people who will just potion their way out of it.

In a previous Pokemon roleplay I was in, we would roll a 10 sided dice during battles to see if the move would land or not, and then the opponent getting hit (or not) would respond accordingly. 1-3 was a miss, while 4-10 was a hit.

I have a couple ideas for both combat and finding/catching pokemon, but I would like to test them before implementing them.
For now, RP everything as well as you can.

Are we keeping track of time progression? I'd just like to know, 'cause it'd be weird if one person spends days in one location, another spends only hours in another, and then they run into each other.
It'd be like an un-frankenfurty version of the Time Warp.

We definitely need more people. xD I'll see what I can do. I was thinking of warping to others but I guess all of us clustering up on the same area doesn't work.
