WWE has added another drug to their list of banned substances under their Wellness Program: carisoprodol, also known as soma. Many wrestlers used the muscle relaxant, however, some take it recreationally. The drug was allowed in the past as long as it was prescribed by a doctor, but the WWE has now banned it entirely.

There is debate on the outcome of this. Some (such as Jim Ross) think this was a good move, as it should help to restrict pill addiction, which is a major problem not just in wrestling, but in the world period. Others think the effort is ultimately futile since wrestlers will just replace it with something else.
