Quote:
-- WWE star Matt Hardy, who stated in a YouTube video this week that he's on his way out of the company, has been hitting the gym hard as of late. Hardy's less-than-perfect physique has been the subject of discussion by various wrestling websites and he recently wrote on Twitter that he dropped a lot of weight by cutting red meat out of his diet.

Hardy wrote on Twitter that he's been hitting the gym hard lately trying to get in the best shape of his life and posted a picture of himself in the gym looking totally shredded. Hardy has been out of action for a few weeks now and it's obvious he's been spending that time in the gym.

I know I'm probably the only one who still likes Matt Hardy but I thought it was interesting and wanted to hear your thoughts.

More power to him, but I don't think it will do much in the long run, at least in regard to the industry.

Pumping up isn't going to help him in the long run...he'll still be boring to watch.

Can't hurt being in shape though. Maybe Joe should follow suit.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Yeah, Joe has a horrible look, but his work ethic and talent make up for it...it's like Husky Harris. Both guys are able to work, despite being hefty. It doesn't matter what Hardy looks like, he'll still suck the energy out of matches.

Joe needs some flab on him for his senton and hip slam in the corner to look better. Matt's weight isn't the problem, it's that he's lost his spark. He needs to reinvent himself and do something fresh. V 1 has ran it's course. He needs to have life back in him because he looks as if he's lost his passion. I wouldn't mind him running with the never say die attitude and wearing a bunch of skulls. Get some new pyro and a more energetic entrance.

Part of that is probably that he doesn't want to be in WWE anymore.

My point is his pride is hurting him. If he's not happy in WWE then that's fine but if his performance suffers, who will ask to sign someone that will lay down whenever things don't go their way. Matt should swallow his pride, do something to get noticed, and then go with any company that comes calling because they liked what they saw. He has to make the agents call and the best way to do that is to get reactions.

Instead of making a new thread, I'll post this in here since it's related:

WWE is laying down the law when it comes to how the WWE Superstars can use social networking sites. Because of how Hardy has been acting, the WWE is taking a more proactive approach to preventing a similar incident, going so far as to have the Superstars' Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube pages screened by WWE officials for proper posts.

My opinion: As much as I disagree with what Hardy did, he was still in his right to do it. They were his accounts, and he has the right to put whatever he wants on there. If the WWE took exception to what he said or they feel he isn't representing the company well...then fire him. They have that right. But to take away the freedom of expression of all it's employees like this...it's downright despicable. It's just another attempt at WWE to control it's employees.

I totally agree 100%. But I also understand that if it gets to a point where you're miserable doing what you love to do, you probably need to step away for a while. Kinda like what Jericho did. But reinventing himself is the probably best bet right now.

I didn't bother looking...not really interested in Hardy to look at him working out.
