((*prays she gets this right and copies a tad from the city thread*))
"Today, " the teacher boomed, "you will participate in your first practice fights. Now. 002 pair with 003. 005 pair with 006. On my mark attack, ONCE!" Parmida winced at the teacher's booming voice; it made her head hurt worse. She looked over at Selma, her eyes starting to water from her headache. "And...Mark!"
Parmida made her first move; a punch should do. That was Selma she was aiming at, right?

Selma listened to the teacher nervously, before facing her opponent. She wasn't looking forward to the bruises she thought she was likely to get from this fight. She saw Parmida's punch coming at the last second and tried to dodge it while aiming a kick at one of Parmia's knees. Gritting her teeth, she waited for the expected blow, not beliving herself to have been quick enough to dodge the punch.

Parmida yanked her knee out of the way of Selma's kick. Too bad that move made her punch swing wide as well. At least she didn't get hit! She readied another punch.

Selma teetered backwards slightly as missing the kick had thrown her off balance a bit. She was also surpised that Parmida's punch didn't hit her. She smiled slightly. Well at least she dodged the first one. Her attention returned to the other girl and she curled her hand into a fist before looking for an opening. Her hand flew at the first opportunity she saw, and she only hoped it would hit.

Selma suprised herself when she felt her fist connect with something....Parmia's shoulder. She was even more surpised when Parmia's swing missed. She backed up a few paces and looked down at her hand as if it were different somehow than it was before. Glancing over at Parmida, she checked to see if the girl was alright before smiling slightly and coming back forward with a new confidance.
((I figure I'll wait to post my next attack until after Parmida's reaction.))

((Kinda gotta, since I need to post what Parmda will do next...))
Parmida jerked as Selma's punch slammed into her shoulder, causing her punch to brush past Selma as if she had intended to miss her. Well, let Selma think that if she thought about it. Parmida rolled her shoulder once to make sure it still worked, winced, then used her other arm to swing another punch at Selma.

Selma watched Parmida as she attempted another punch. She readied her fists and attempted to dodge while looking for another opening, figuring that punching might work again since it worked last time. When a movement left Parmida's stomach exposed, Selma tried to use the opportunity to get her swing in. She closed her eyes, hoping it would work as last time.

Parmida clutched her arms to her middle and crumpled, out of breath, when Selma slammed a fist into her stomach. She knelt there, wheezing, for a moment before rising to her unsteady feet. She wobbled for a moment before getting her balance back, and nearly tackled Selma full-on. Knowing that the teacher was still there was the only thing keeping Parmida to simply guarding herself better as she threw another punch towards Selma.

Selma felt her hand connect with the soft tissue of Parmida's stomach as her punch made it through the other girl's defences. Again, she was amazed to find herself escape from the round unscathed. Deciding that Parmida was probably ready for another punch, Selma chose to use a kick this time, despite its past failure.
