Ok some of this is going to sound pretty far out there but it is what happened. Also this is quite long I apologize for that.
I just finished my first attempt at a circle casting and communion with the spirit world and I wanted to write down what happened before it fades from my memory. Bare in mind I was making up a lot of this ritual as I went so this might not conform to any known rituals but I was told that is ok it's more about how you feel then the actual steps.
I placed my Bast statue in the north position since She is my primary patron Goddess. I placed a picture of Cynthia in the western position since she is me and I have a connection to that direction. I placed a bow and arrows representation in the eastern position to represent Artemis who recently sent me a vision of Herself. In the south position I placed the first fairy statue I ever owned as an invitation to the fairy queen.
Once placed I took a red crystal ball and named it the container for the negative energy inside the circle and took a pyramid and dubbed it the object in which I would release the negative energy when the ritual was over. I would release it by tapping the crystal with the pyramid. I then took the crystal around the circle and waved it over the 4 items and then sat in the center and placed a towel over the ball to block it from view. I didn't know if I was supposed to take the crystal outside the circle and I didn't want to break the circle so I made it so I couldn't see it instead. I got no impression that this was wrong so I continued.
I then walked to each of the 4 icons and invited the Goddesses and spirits to come to me if they so desired and communicate with me. I then sat in the center with the pyramid in front of me and started to semi meditate (I still need to work on doing that right). I wanted to ask Bast a question. I used to call her Bastet and was told that was actually derogatory towards her so I asked if I had offended her by referring to her that way. I got an answer I don't understand. In the sky towards the north I saw a black cylinder for a split second. It kinda reminded me of the probe from star trek IV. It was there as long as those flaming words that I saw the other day (see my post about Artemis visiting me) so I don't really know what to make of it. If anyone knows what this image means please let me know otherwise I will assume since the probe from star trek IV was a destructive thing that means I should just call Her Bast.
I then asked Cynthia if she had any messages for me and if she wanted to tell me what she was hiding from and if I was threatening her with this ritual. For a few moments nothing happened and I was starting to get disheartened but I saw a reflection of light next to the picture of Cynthia and started to think of a symbol I have never seen before. It looked like a diagonal W with the three ends pointing towards the east and the tow points pointing south west. I got a really nervous vibe from it and it kept appearing in my head while talking to her. I was even tracing it in the air with my hand. I asked if there was anything she wanted to tell me and closed my eyes. I saw what I think was a woman's face screaming for a split second. Couldn't make out details but I know it wasn't Cynthia's face. I saw other faces but they went so fast I didn't get any details from them. My imagination took over at this point and I started making my own faces so I moved on. I was going to move to Artemis when I saw one more image. A man in what looked like wizard robes standing in from of a magic circle preforming some kind of ritual. I didn't see his face but I could tell the figure was male. It was just a feeling I got. I don't know if this was just my imagination or not but I didn't like it and felt it was best to drop it with Cynthia for now. This is the oddest part of my attempt to communicate with Cynthia. I didn't even realize it until just now as I'm typing this. When I opened my eyes the light reflection I saw, that made me think of that Symbol, had moved closer to the picture of Cynthia. It couldn't have been more then a few minutes so it shouldn't have moved that far that quickly. That really bothers me now.
Anyway I started to talk to Artemis but before I could say much I got the impression that I needed to try again under a crescent moon which is more her symbol then the full so I agreed with her. She was silent after that so I moved to the fairy queen.
I got almost nothing from her but I did get a name. Zara appeared in my head, and when I asked if that was her name it sounded like the crickets around me were saying yes. I then asked if she had many names or if this was her true name and the crickets sounded like they were saying many. That is all I got from her. The Fairy Queen wants me to call her Zara.
At that point I said I was going to end the ritual and break the circle and release the energy but if there was anything else they wanted to tell me I would close my eyes and let them. I got a peaceful image of Bast exactly as she appeared in the picture I commissioned with Cynthia sitting on the floor at her feet with a smile on her face. I don't know if this was just my imagination or a real image but it made me smile. I was about to stand up when I thought I saw some white streaks in the sky. Not shooting stars as they were gone too fast but more like mental images while my eyes were opened.
Nothing else happened after that and hasn't yet. I don't know how much of this is just in my head but it was nice to have something out of the ordinary happen. I figure when I do a ritual under the crescent moon I will put Artemis in the north spot. I need to get some candles too for next time.
I found it quite a rewarding experience. I just hope whatever Cynthia was trying to show me doesn't come to bite me later. Also I noticed when I came inside that I had been out there for nearly 40 minutes. It really only felt like I was there for about 10 minutes. I actually lost track of time that was cool.

It has taken me a bit to finish thinking about your ritual. You had a lot going on and set out to do many things with it; quite ambitious while being open to whatever came. You have laid the groundwork for many rituals and spirit workings for the future.
It is unusual to place those spirits and deities called to witness the ritual in the four directions; typically their acknowledgment and actions involving them take place in the center. I see no specific issue to raise with doing things differently, though, just pointing out what I have usually seen done. The underlying logic, I think, is to call those who will 'play well' together but your ritual placed you in the center as the unifying factor.
Sweeping negativity out of the circle is usually done before it is sealed so those elements are left outside. Sometimes an offering is left outside for disruptive elements.

Yeah I probably did too much. I plan to do future rituals for Bast, Artemis and for the Fairy Queen alone and etc. How exactly does one sweep negativity out before its sealed. I was thinking if it wasn't sealed then more would get in while I was removing it. I know this is probably a very novice thing to ask.

No, your questions are very good.
If you have a broom sweep your circle to a spot outside where you have placed your offering. Hopefully your offering is sooooo nice that the impish will be busy with while you close your circle! Containing the negativity is always good. You can even get specific about the 'negatives' that pertain to your working.
An aid which I don't see much, but use myself, is a circle guardian. This entity helps keep things out that may disrupt your work. My former canine companion was such a guardian and I got to see her in action, growling at things I could not see or sense. She is gone now. A spiritual guardian might be invoked for this purpose, also.
One thing that your ritual showed was that your patrons and spirits will probably work well together for you.

The crystal and pyramid combination did seem to work well for me. Maybe I could do that again only next time gather the negativity into the crystal and place it outside the circle before I close it, and since I need to bring the crystal inside my house when I am finished use the pyramid to release the energy again. The idea of a circle guardian is good to. I have a lot of figurines that might be good for that role. Thanks for the ideas smile
