What about using diferent cultures mythical creatures mythological creatures as well. For instance the Banshee, Chichevache, Culebre are examples of some cultures mythical creatures.

The Banshee is originaly from Gaelic. It literally means a fairy woman, but is usually used to mean the spirit of a dead ancestress, female spirit whose wailing warns a family that one of them will soon die.

The Chichevache is from Greman. It is a monster that only feds on "good women" and was therefore mostly skin and bones because its food was extremely scarce.

The Culebre originated from spain. it is a dragon-like creature, or a snake with two bat-like wings, that exhales fire and sulfur. Culebres are very dangerous, but it is worth fighting against them, because they usually hide huge treasures in their dens.

This is just an idea. I just think it would make it more interesting to have mtyhical creatures as well races, and sub races. Instead of just the normal drawfs, and elementals. : D

Are you looking to have them be used as player races or as creatures who live in the world?

I think that as player characters, they would need to be placed in the advanced player races as they would need a bit of finesse to play them.

Creatures that live in the world. They have quite a few that I have found that can be used for Lore, family settings, fighting, as pets, and so on. I have some examples.

The brownie.
A good-natured, household goblin. During the night, the brownie performs household tasks; however, if offered payment for his services, he disappears and never returns.

Basa-Jaun An ogre from Spain, whose name means "lord of the woods". He is given credit for teaching mankind the art of agriculture and forging. He lives in the woods and caves where he protects the flocks of sheep and goats from predators and thunderstorms. But he has a malignant nature and will trap and torture humans if they stray into his domain. In some stories, he is described as a spirit that is mischievous, but not malignant.

Thunderbird
Mythological creature usually depicted as eagle-like, representing the great forces of nature. It sometimes was a creator, and at other times was associated with the destructive powers of war, and was also considered a rain-bringer.

I like the idea of including them in the lore and having them as creatures. I'm going to move the topic over to the lore section. If you want to make a few of these into player races, then we could definitely do that with a bit of work.

It might take a while to find some that would actualy be able to be a player race. But I'll see if I can find some, and if I can make it work. Also will you like for me to find one, or two more for the lore section?

You can if you'd like to, but I think we could develop and incorporate these and it would take a bit of time. Either way, I love including real myths into worlds biggrin I'm glad you found some interesting myths.

I enjoy reading about them so it's no problem, and yeah. I am also working on a post for the Nature/enviorment part. So that might be ready in a bit.

You know, some of these will take some finesse to convert it to the world we're looking for. In other words, we're going to have to switch up some things in the stories to have them correlate with our world.

By the way, I thought the Thunder Bird was only associated with storms. Every time it flaps it's wings, water falls off of its feathers and plummet to the sky. When it blinks, a thunder bolt of lightning races to the ground. Things like that.

Watch. We'll be bringing in Pikachu and Bulbasaur next. LOL!

I know, I know. The brownie is ment to be invisible, but that wont really work in the rp. And hey! The zapdose was based off of the thunderbird myth. Seeing as the myth is also known in Japan. So don't hate on the thunder bird. just because it has it's own pokemon baised off of it, and you don't! talk2hand

The goal isn't to change the world to include them, but to change the myth to be included in the world...

Calm down. I mean no hositility. Gosh. Control yourself woman. LOL! Articuno should be in there. That could possibly be correlative to the Halcyon. I don't know.

Oh, you may want to add the Halcyon in there. Just go to dictionary.com. You'll find him.

Lugia, Aritcuno, Zapto, and In...I can't remember.

I don't think we should dabble in the pokemon thing. One step at a time. LOL! I think Null Void should have his own Lore. Which would actually be his history. Partially.
