why is it that no one will admit it when they like green day? so many people like it, that no one would ever get made fun of for liking them. i hang out with people who like punk rock in general, so no one ever does anything to us, because they would get the living crap kicked out of them by the football team, but my friend gets beat up for liking gd, when the people who did it are all in the closet green day fans. i just want to know how people could be soooo ignorant!

1. Seriously, if their reason for beating up your friend is that he likes Green Day, they are NOT closet Green Day fans.
2. Inflicting pain for having different music taste is a little harsh, but you've got to accept not everyone likes what you like. They're not "sooooo" ignorant, they just like different things.
3. Green Day aren't actually proper "punk". The fact their fanbase calls them punk is probably one of the reasons people don't like them.
4. If you're worried about being hated on for your beliefs and opinions, express them freely here amongst like minded people, and don't insist the people at school should like the same things- we're all individual.

im not saying they have to to like the same things as me, because that would just be stupid,but i know for a fact several of the people who criticize me like green day also. im sorry if maybe i put that in the wrong words, because no one has to like the same things as me. sweatdrop

i think these people don't want to admit to liking green day because they feel that they're not "cool". Green Day aren't an underground band anymore, they're one of the biggest in rock music today. You ask anybody who listens to rock and they will know Green Day.
For some reason there is this "thing" about being credible and liking un popular bands to be cool. to be honest with you if these people make fun of you for liking a band are they really worth caring about?
something that green day taught me was to do what i love and ******** everything else. i dont know how you feel about that but it has changed my life.

i completely agree! i go to a private school where liking anything other than whats new that day or week gives everyone else the right to tell you youre wrong for it.
