I've made this thread in hopes that someone will show up for me to practice my RP skills with, heaven knows I need it. However, this thread is not just for me, if you want to get some training in for the tournament, then please feel free to join in. Plus, you need to be active in either an RP or Revres to be accepted to the tournament anyway. Join in and kill two stones with one bird. I do however ask that you be able to learn from what people have to tell you.
Leir stood in the open grassland, he had heard that people might show up here for the tournament which had been declared. He was rusty when it came to fighting, and yes the prize was indeed a great promotional stunt, but Leir wasn't in it for the money, he wanted to protect people and the best way he could do that was to hone his fighting skills. Leir took this time to look around at the surrounding terrain, it was mostly just a flat grass land however about 15 feet off to his right a thick forest began.
Leir stood in the empty grassland like a sore thumb, his white robe standing out against the sea of green grass, "Is anyone here?" He called doubting that anyone could hide in this foot tall grass. "If anyone's here come at me with all you have." As he said this he formed a psionic rapier in his left hand. He waited, due to his glove he felt the imprint of the gems that studded the tips of the fingers. A slight breeze kicked up and as the grass started rustling, Leir got nervous fearing that every rustle was someone sneaking toward him, hidden in the grass.

((I have one quick question about the psionic weapon. I could block it with a regular weapon correct?))
Strifer smiled a bit as Lier stood in the grass. From Strifer's position in the forest, Lier probably couldn't see him. Strifer's black pirate coat blended with the shadows, even with the faded gold trim the coat was not bright enough for someone to see it, unless they were looking for it. Considering that Strifer had miraculously arrived before the man out in the field, his black boots had design to prevent slippage on wet surfaces hadn't moved an inch. His black light pants were designed to make it so he could maximize his movement, and match the rest of his outfit.
Strifer's signature bowler hat shielded his bright yellow eyes from the sun as he took his steps forward to approach the lone figure in the field. His golden blade slid out of it's sheath in a slow, but steady motion as he continued to go towards the opponent. When there was a distance of about seven feet between them Strifer stopped. "I always prefer to start on the defensive side of a training battle." Strifer held the hilt of his blade at about his waist level, using both hands to grip the one handed blade, as though the blade were a much larger blade. With a quick jerk of his head to one side, Strifer beckoned Lier to come at him.

((Correct, it is just like a regular weapon, except it disappears when it isn't in physical contact with his psionic energy.))
Leir turned quickly to his right and brought his sword out in front of him, also at waist level, to see the owner of the voice, "That makes two of us, friend." Leir said and examined the blade which Strifer wielded searching for a weak point. "Well, I suppose that we should start this and end the suspension." he said. Leir ran toward Strifer, as he ran he adjusted the positioning of the hand guard on the rapier, to prepare it to block, Leir had held the sword for a good ten seconds now making the density of the sword similair to that of a light steel.
As he charged he prepared to form a barrier, if needed, with his right hand. Leir was tempted to jump straight into one of his phases, to attempt to match up to the person before him, but even in his adrenaline pumping brain he knew that it would be a folly to attempt this, better to wait and hope for an opening. Leir focused all his attention on Strifer's blade as he charged, so he could block it with the hand guard of his rapier, then counter.

Strifer smiled as Lier started to charge, then released the blade with his left hand, leaving only the right hand to hold it. He then held his blade in the same position he had been in the defensive stance as he raised it about the level of his head. Strifer then judge the timing to swing his blade in a half circle, that would pass in front of his body, and if timed correctly smack the psionic blade to Strifer's right side.
If the block worked as he intended, which it may not, Strifer would then move his now free left hand to send a quick jab to Lier's ribs as he passed. The punch was mostly intended to just make a hit as Lier passed, but there was no guarantee that the charge would follow through after the block, which would leave Strifer with his left arm out in the open. Strifer prepared for this by reaching for the lightning stored in his body. It wouldn't be ready to pour through his body to make the punch faster, but there was a small chance it might be to pull his punch back.

Leir quickly did a quick backflip stopping his forward momentum, he formed a psionic katana in his right hand, he planned to let this sword gain density and keep it out of the main combat, the rapier was now getting near the same density of Strifer's sword and the feint of the charge had bought him enough time to get the density of his sword to the right level. Leir rested his arm muscles and let his hands dangle at his sides, he walked slowly toward Strifer, Leir knew that a fellow GML member wouldn't go down easily, but he also knew that Leir had some secrets that the GML hadn't seen. "Tell me one thing...." Leir said as he breathed in as his arm muscles tensed, "Why do you fight?"

Strifer raised an eye brow. Why does he fight? No one has asked him that in ages. "Honestly? I fight to die." The simplest way to put his answer was probably the worst, but there was no time to go in detail after a fight had started.
Stifer had already wasted much of his lightning energy in the quick punch that had been easily evaded by the back flip, but there was more than enough for him to show off. Since it had already been gathered it didn't take as much time to make the lightning form in his hand. He brought his blade up, then ran the lightning covered hand over the blade, which transferred from hand to blade. The lightning dance up and down his blade, never hitting the exact same spot at the same angle, and never traveling below the hilt.
Strifer let a quick smirk come across his face as he burst into a charge at his opponent, when he got with in the right distance he lept into the air, and lifted his blade over his head. It was a simple downward strike with which he intended to hit, but that wasn't all that was planned. Strifer readied his right leg to kick Lier square in the stomach, should the blow be blocked in the typical horizontal fashion.

Leir quickly and calmly blocked the downward blow, that was when the kick came in below his guard, Leir took the kick in his chest and felt the ribs crack, "That is all the pain you can deal?" Leir said, breaking his usual rule about speaking during a fight. Leir twirled his rapier to send Strifer's sword off to the left ((Your right)) side, immediately afterward Leir swung his katana upward toward Strifer's chest with his right hand, spinning on the toes of his left foot as he did so to increase the speed, he finished by compeleting the circle, and jumped backward to a safe distance to face Strifer once again.

Strifer saw his kick land, and the strike that Lier had prepared. There wasn't much he could do to avoid it completely. That said, Strifer still tried to jump back, but with only on foot solid on the ground it looked more like a stumble than anything else. The strange weapon cut into Strifer's chest, but nowhere near as deeply as it would have had he not dodged. A grimace of pain flashed on Strifer's face, then disappeared.
Strifer attempted a quick lash with his blade as the stumble occurred. Lier had already begun his jump backwards by the time the blade had moved and the blade struck harmlessly at the air. Strifer got both his feet stable on the ground as Lier faced him. He rubbed his hand across his chest to gauge the cut. It wasn't too bad, but enough to cover his hand. Perfect.
"I can do much, much worse." He beckoned Lier to come at him with his now blood covered hand. The plan had formed the moment Strifer's blood had shown itself.

Leir wasn't going to rush blindly, he had in idea as to what Strifer had planned, "Going to light your blood on fire again?" Leir said as he took the stance he was in earlier, with his arms resting at his side. Leir smiled slightly "I think I know you're weakness..." he said and dismissed both his rapier and his katana, in their place he formed a pair of swords that were very slender, but each sword was about 10' long.
The swords were purple, but soon they changed to a bloodred. Leir's eyes also changed color to match. "This fight has just begun." Leir's entrance into his first form had marked a point of no return from his plan. He jogged toward Strifer with his swords held perpendicular to his body and parrallel to the earth. Besides the swords and his eyes Leir also seemed to have changed his personality.

Strifer smiled. "I always light my blood on fire. The only thing that changes is where I light it." He noted the change in Lier's weapons as well as the change in eye color, but there wasn't much he could speculate about it at this moment. The more important thing was that he began to pull the fire element away from the source of his elements. While his lightning element had been almost completely drained, his fire was still full.
Strifer matched Lier's charge with one of his own. Strifer tried his best to swat Lier's weapons away, but only tried enough to make it so he wasn't completely impaled by one of them. He moved to make a rush past Lier, rather than meet him head on. Strifer stuck his bloodied hand out in hopes to brush it on his opponent as they passed each other. The moment Strifer was passed his opponent he turned with fire now gathered from with in himself. Sparks burst from his hand in a small stream, which caught the remaining blood on the hand on fire. With any luck, it would hit Lier where the blood had been smeared. Collateral damage from the charge could be inspected later.

Leir noticed Strifer's attempts to swat his weapons away and Leir smiled, after he was less then 10 feet of Strifer he swung the weapon in his left hand horizontally in front of him, the bloodred blade was meant to inflict damage, and Strifer would have a hard time breaking it as the density of the blade was heightened with Leir's first form, during this time Leir also readied the sword in his right hand so as to inable him to lunge at Strifer, should the first blade be dodged or blocked. He managed to barely scrap Strifer in his charge, as Strifer ran past he brushed blood across Leir's outfit and it suddenly burst into flames. Leir remained calm and spun one of his blades around to cut off the burning fabric, and cutting a slash in his own skin while he was at it. The psionic attack assualted his mind, but Leir pushed it back and turned to see how Strifer was dealing with the mental assualt.

Strifer suddenly felt a force striking at his mind. A large thumping head ache nearly sent him on his knees. Strifer patted his free hand out as best as he could to bring it to his head. His knees wobbled for a moment, until a thought reached him through the pain. His freehand reached in the jacket on his back, pulled out his bottle of rum, then chugged the bottle as fast as he could.
Strifer tossed the empty bottle to the side. Another moment passed and the pain was gone. "So that's why the weapons change colors. Nice little trick you got there." Strifer decided that getting cut by the blades was going to be a bade idea, so defense was going to be the name of his game. He took his defensive stance yet again and simply waited. Lier would take the hint, or so Strifer hoped.

Leir calmly and slowly closed the distance to Strifer, he was going to win this fight with the one thing he had going for him, range. After getting 9 feet from Strifer he swung the sword in his left hand lightly at Strifer and began an attack of swings that slowly picked up tempo and power, until it would eventually become a battering assualt of sword swings, Leir never swung with both swords at once so he could block any assualt that may come.

Strifer simply held his defense. He parried the blows coming his way as best as he could, with out moving his feet. It was mostly a show of skill. If Lier couldn't push him back, then that was the real show of strength.
Strifer brought his blade up to block one blow, then elegantly began to move it to the next block. As Lier's blows became more and more fierce, Strifer was forced to take a step backwards, but his blocks never lost their elegance. Swordsman ship was about grace, not about brute force.
Finally as Lier took the brute force approach all it took was patience. Strifer parried one swipe, then quick flipped his wrist, which brought the blade from a blocking position to a quick stab towards Lier's direction.

Leir saw the action and also the opening it provided, Leir dived to the side to avoid the potential thrust and swung his sword in an arc below Strifer's waist, cutting upward and under the thrust-positioned sword. At the end of the dive, Leir did a quick short frontflip, to put his feet in the direction he was travelling. When his feet made contact with the ground Leir crouched his knees and did a horizontal spin to face Strifer. During this manuever Leir kept his swords off the ground to avoid interference.
