The fact that Stephen Fry has been cast as Mycroft seems to make some people want to see the movie even though they wouldn't want to go otherwise, from the reactions I've seen on Facebook.

Aah, I'd heard this! I must say I like their casting choice. It would never have occurred to me to get Stephen for Mycroft, but I have no doubt that he could do it. He's ridiculously good at playing genius, and he looks the part more than RDJ does.

And it'll be nice that he's not having to fake an atrocious accent. :/

Actually, I was quite happy with Law's performance. (More so than I was with RDJ's.) He was attractive, gallant, intelligent and frankly badass, just like canon! I do look forward to more Hotson. ;D
Now they just need to throw Hugh Laurie in there somewhere, and I shall be content.

Unfortunately, RDJ could only perform what was written in the script. The way the first movie was written was pretty rubbish. I am not very much looking forward to a repeat.
