anything screamo, with good guitar work like big drop tuned riffs and/or big solos. any type of metal really

Look up a band called "Torture Killer" it's a Finnish death metal band that was discovered by SFU lead singer Chris Barnes and who served as lead singer for a while.

As for your screamo request I dunno if you'd consider them "underground" but look up "As I Lay Dying". Kick a** vocals, serious shredding, solid Metalcore band who kinda sound like KsE, ATR, & Shadows Fall.
