These are just a few ides for some. I am planing on altering them to fit the world better later on.Just tell me what you think. I will also provide links to some of them them.

This one is about a black dog in the mountains. If you see it once it is for joy. You see it twice it is for sorrow. You see it three times you will die.
link
This one is about a old crow who would fly north to south. And bring tales of daylight to a tribe who lived in darkness. Eventually they convinced him to bring them daylight. After flying north the crow found the tribe that held a orb that contained daylight. After stealing the orb the crow brought it back to the south, and smashed it. Lighting up the sky.

Baba Yaga is a hag, who flies through the air in a mortar, using the pestle as a rudder and sweeping away the tracks behind her with a broom made of silver birch. She lives in a log cabin that moves around on a pair of dancing chicken legs, aand is surrounded by a palisade with a skull on each poles, or both.
link

Sirens were dangerous bird-women, portrayed as seductresses who lured nearby sailors with their enchanting music and voices to shipwreck on the rocky coast of their island Later folklore as fully aquatic and mermaid-like creatures.
link

Most accounts of the Jersey Devil legend attribute the creature to a "Mother Leeds", a supposed witch, although the tale has many variations. According to one version, she invoked the devil while giving birth to her 13th child, and when the baby was born, it either immediately or soon afterwards transformed into a devil like creature and flew off into the surrounding pines.

I am still looking for folk tales that will actually work. These are the only two that I have found so far. I still need to fix a few things in them. I'm probably going to have to just use ideas from folklore.

I'm only going to look for a few more, before I start to alter them to fit the rp. If you have any ideas for folklore that will fit the lore, myths, races, etc... that we already have please tell me. I will love to hear them.

The ghost dog reminds me of Europes folklore.

There's a Black Dog in England. It's fur was a ghastly pitch black that shown no reflection of light in it. Sometimes it was reported with eyes as dark as charcoal, and others it has eyes burning with the fires of hell. Seeing this creature means one of two things. Misfortune or Death.

If you read the link it shows a one of the stories of it. A guy saw it a second time while he was hiking. He began sliding down the cliff, and broke his leg in two places. It was twisted at an odd angle. He managed to leave before seeing it a third time.

I just read Jersey Devil. That thing is ugly as hell. I mean, big time. It's just plain yuck.

Geeze, thanks. I'm trying to remember other things. We already have Dwarves up. What we should do is try to find something that'll go with them. Maybe some added things to it. LIke they would worship something that is underground. They seem to me like an atheist people, but still. We need to come up with something.

I can immagine Dwarves worshiping an earth god, or a god of riches, possibly both. It would fit them. They spend their whole lives underground diging for gold, jewels, and so on. Maybe we can create a ledgend to where there is a reason for what they do, and what their relgion is based off of.

@Metriath

I will do just that. I was already thinking of sirens. I can not say I have heard much of the baba-yaga other then she is a witch. So I will get on that when I can, and post it in my first post. It might take untill tomarow. I have had family over for that last few days so sorry it it takes awhile.

Does this look like something that could be related to the Dwarfish?

I believe we should get around 2-3 different creatures for each race.

You know, like how man's best friend is the dog. A horse is used for travel and manual labor. The cow is used for domestic use and food.

Domesticated best friend
Work animal
Domesticated food source

If only I had my book with me. I owned a book about different types of monsters. If I had that, then I could automatically come out with different things. I don't know, but I believe our main focus should be on the elves when it comes to making up new folklore, as they are the race we're working on.
