of course it's okay.
there's nothing satanic about dressing up
nothing satanic about getting candy from your neighbors
ect...
what always matters is what is in our hearts.
are you honoring death and satan on that day or are you just having a fun time w/ the family and neighborhood - something you can give thanks to the Lord for.

Oct. 31 is just another day... there's nothing evil about it.
yes, there are wicked, evil people out there who practice wicked evil things .. but they do that every day all the time, not just on halloween.
Oct. 31 does not belong to satan and Christians should not hide away in their houses.
hehe.
"This is the day which the Lord hath made. We will rejoice and be glad in it." applies to Oct. 31 just like any other day. razz

that's my own personal opinion on the matter.

I've been wondering if it's okay to celebrate it too. I can see it both ways. Bad and good.

Here are some great sites on Halloween issue:

http://www.chick.com/seasonal/halloween/celebrate.asp

http://www.godandscience.org/doctrine/halloween.html

http://womenbygrace.com/christian-life/why-we-dont-celebrate-halloween/

http://www.jameswatkins.com/halloween2.htm

http://www.christiananswers.net/q-eden/halloween.html

I even read those... And now I'm leaning more towards, "No, you shouldn't celebrate it." I think I complete changed my view on Halloween after reading them.
I LOVE how the family from the site, ' http://www.godandscience.org/doctrine/halloween.html ' honors God and spreads the Great News on Halloween. What a awesome way to turn it around and focus on God.

It's fine to celebrate it. We have a thread similar to this one in my guild (on October 1st, many guild suddenly had Halloween-inspired threads pop up!) and a lot of people brought up some really interesting points.

One person said that it originally was a pagan holiday. While that might be alarming to some, Christmas and Easter started out as pagan holidays as well. And we celebrate those, don't we? So if we don't celebrate Halloween because of it's origins, wouldn't it stand to reason that we should also not celebrate Christmas and Easter? (Two holidays that many are a bit more than hesitant to sacrifice, I'm sure.)

Also, another person brought up how, like Christmas, commercialized Halloween was. It's lost is original meaning. So unless there are serious issues for the Halloween we celebrate now as oppose to what it originally stood for, I'm pretty sure it's alright.

That's is your decision. I'm a believer, and I celebrate Halloween. I take it as a fun time with the friends and family. And free candy xp

It may seem that way to you and to others, but it does bring up good concerns about how Christians shouldn't celebrate Halloween. I think we all Christians should really consider.

The main thing is that you ask God. God knows what's best for all of us. It's okay to get advice from people, but the biggest and most important advice you should listen to is the one from God. A great thing to do is go through your Bible and look up what the Bible says about it or may relate to it. The Bible doesn't lie, it's the truth. So look at your Bible, pray to God to tell you how he feels about it and what to do and then make your choice.

I think one of the best ways to 'celebrate' Halloween is to glorify God. There are many ways to glorify him on a day like that. I have never done Halloween like I plan to do this year and I'm getting a new excitement for Halloween that I've never felt before.

Edit: I looked up more on 'Should Christians celebrate Halloween' and found another site.

halloween is a pagan "holiday", so i disagree with it being called one, however i dont believe it bad to celebrate as long as you have the right mentality about it.

Well i'll be spending halloween with my dad. My family and i are going to this event from my church. Its called '99'. Its supposed to be like a christian version of a haunted house. I pray it won't be like the haunted house my mom and stepdad forced me and my siblings to go to. By the way is it ok to go haunted houses too? sweatdrop

how could it not be okay?
what sin is involved in walking through a house or area where ppl are dressed up in costumes and go "RAWR!" and then ask you if you're okay if you scream? lolz

that's what the last haunted house was like that i went to. the monsters inside would scare us and then be like "are you okay?.. alright, have fun and God Bless!" good times, good times!
