Katie walked into the training area, looking around and examining everything. An elf passed in front of her and she said, "Oh, hello." to it, but it ignored her and kept walking. She tilted her head to the side a bit, probably just busy, she thought. Katie looked at the targets and dummies and sighed. I still haven't seen anymore bluecoats around here, where could they all possibly be hiding? she mused. Then she looked back to the targets and the dummies and wondered what to practice first.

"Well that's good," A sudden voice exclaimed behind him, "You're going to need it if we want to beat the reds." Phoenix appeared, grinning and holding a bow and arrows. She noticed a girl standing by Zeno and inclined her head, curious, "I've never seen you around, did you just join?" She asked, studying her. The girl had no visible rank on her collar so Phoenix assumed she was a private. "I'm the General here so if you need any assistance, come to me and I'll see what I can do." She smiled not the least bit uncomfortable as Zeno had been with not announcing his own rank; she held out a hand, "You can call me Phoenix; I don't like the title that comes with the rank."

"You know I hate it when people suck up to me." She grinned, "At ease Captain, and if you'd like I can give out some pointers in using a bow, but I'm far from the best on this base." She walked over to the targets and took out three arrows from her quiver, poking two in the ground in front of her and stringing the other.

"Remember the arrow arches as it speeds so if you're shooting from a distance, always aim a little above your target. Also, wind factors a lot in the path it's taking so keep that in mind." She sighted the hundred yard target, closing one eye to get a straighter sight path, adjusted the angle of her arrow and let it loose; the head buried itself just inside the bulls eye. She lowered her bow and looked at Zeno.

"I've never seen you shoot, let's see how good you are." The girl waved an elf over and asked him to get a spare bow and arrows from the armory. A minute later, he came running up and held the weapon out to Zeno.

Phoenix started laughing at the shocked expression on the almost skewered elf, surprising herself at the sudden outburst.

"You need to remember that you don't need to aim exactly over their heads;" She said once she'd recovered, "The closer you are to the target, the less of an angle you have to do. Here." She walked over to Zeno and stood behind him, placing her hands on his arms and guiding them to the right stance. "Try to shoot the 20 yard target." She said.

Katie rocked back on her heels, watching the two. She smiled at a nearby elf, who just grunted and walked away. Frowning she thought, Maybe having a bad day? then sighed and returned her gaze to the Captain and the General.

Katie looked towards the entrance and wondered if the other two would be offended if she left. She glanced at them and decided they were too busy to notice and tip toed away.

After the wand stopped firing its bolt Rex poked his head out from the corner where unknowingly the bolt was ricocheting ((that how you spell it?)) around the room and hit him smack dab in his forehead, "EEE!" he squealed quickly running out of the room, frightened by the shot but taking no damage, looking for Phoenix. He soon caught her scent and ran into the training room she was in, running too fast to stop and ended up tripping over a mat in the room, sliding across the floor till he hit the wall.
