You know, I'm on Diane 35, which is a lot like Yaz.
It increases the risks of the risks of birth control, but it says so in the instructions and the doctor should have mentioned it when prescribing it to a the person.
But the increase isn't "a lot" in the sense that it doesn't make your a billion times more likely. It's like..
If a Regular Pill was 1 in 100,000 for blood clot (NOT AN EXACT NUMBER)
Yaz or Diane would be 2 in 100,000.
At least this is how it was explain to me by my doctor.
Also, you're only supposed to go on Yaz/Yasmine/Diane 35 for a short period of time. It's not a life-long pill and really only meant to help with acne.

I agree. Anyone going onto such medication should do their own research prior to starting the meds, and the doctor definitely should have mentioned it to the patient.
I remember looking up reviews for the Evra patch, and one woman wrote a nasty review saying the med had given her heart problems and her quality of life had greatly decreased as a result, etc etc. And it was like, why didn't she look into that beforehand? Why didn't her doctor say something? Were other options discussed?

So I switched to Lowestrin Fe24 (it's something like that) I don't know the exact name but that's close enough. I agree, people need to do their own research, and ask their doctor questions about it. =/

I was on Yaz...and I swear, it was freaking me out because my hair was falling out. When I'd brush my hair, lots would come out...and when I'd run my hand through my hair, almost always there were more than four strands of hair in my hand. :/ I'd avoid Yaz..while it did help the reason why I was taking it to begin with (pmdd) its not worth the risk.

I have that problem now, but I think it might be because of my anti-depressant. That or I'm not eating very well. sweatdrop Haven't figured out which yet.
