As we sleep among the dead 2 years ago ((Sorry for the short post Yachi. I wasn't sure how to start it off without getting wordy or confusing. sweatdrop )) It had been a couple of months since the strange girl had appeared to the guard. Ever since then, John had been searching through all the nearby towns for her. By the way the guard had described her, he just had a good feeling she was related to him. John just wasn't sure sister was the right term. I just wish I had more to go on.
He had just left another town. Another dead end. John sighed to himself and twiddled with a necklace he wore around his neck. It was of a dragon with beautiful rubies for eyes rubies for the tiny fire coming out it's mouth. I have to admit. It was a lovely birthday present. Haven, one of the few people to remember his 18th birthday, had given it to him. His brother know how much he loved dragons. "You have been an adult for a long time John, but now you have gained the maturity to call yourself one." John mimiced louldy and chuckled to himself.
His accent was strange at best. Fortitude, for the most part, had a faint accent if any at all. However, from his many journays into the towns and into Wraith, he accuired one that defintely would be unique. It had a drawl too it, but not too much. It was heavy, but not opressive. Some, who liked it, described it was sexy or wonderful. Others just called it strange and told him to get rid of it. His brother Haven seemed to have no opinion on it, other than it was John's choice to get rid of it or not.
For now, John choose to keep it.
His hands now twirled his sword in hand, soon whistling a tune he had heard recently. That way, John hoped time would pass faster and he would make it back home much quicker than normal. We can chase the dark together

Wandering the town. Bella was walking through the town her attention focused on the woods around it. Her urge to go running was great but as she started to head towards the woods she bumped into a large man. She looked up and spoke a soft, "Sorry" to him before she headed back towards the woods. Before she was able to enter the woods she was roughly grasped by the arm, a large hand holding her still. As she started to try and pull her arm away the man grasped her other arm, holding her still in front of him.
"Nay dinna try and escape my grasp, ye willnae get verra far. Now, come with me and ye willnae be hurt, too badly." That was all the man said as he started to drag her away into an alleyway far from the woods.
Bella bit down on her tongue not wanting to draw much attention to her knowing that if she did so she would have someone either trying to help her or help the male that was trying to get a hold of her. So all Bella did was look around herself, making sure no one was around, but as she looked about she saw John. Bella gasped as she saw the young male that was supposedly her brother walking towards where she was being dragged. As she was being dragged away she spoke softly, her voice low and holding an edge to it. "Sir, you will release me of suffer. I do not take to kindly to others touching me unless invited to do so."

As we sleep among the dead ((It's alright. Sorry for the late reply. xD)) His ears picked up on a familiar sound. The frequency and wavelength suggested someone getting dragged. It was close by too. Thus, he took out his sword and walked towards the sound. It can't be. Not this close to the Captial! His assumption was that some of Wraith's army had somehow gotten all the way here. To his relief, it wasn't a Wraith person at all.
His eyes looked at the man who had yet to take notice of him. John was reminded of a roughfeeing that had nothing to do but to harm others. Those people were depicable in his book. His feet gently and quietly made his way closer to the two, making sure to keep himself hidden.
When John was able to get a close look at the person being dragged, his eyes widened and his body tensed. It was a girl, perfectly fitting the description the guard had given him. She seemed to have taken notice of him, which meant the guy would probably look up and see him if he didn't in the shadows. Damn! This isn't good at all! I have to save her, but how? Then an idea hit him.
As the girl tried to get herself released by the man, John made his way into the shadows quickly. He was no assassion or excellant warrior. That didn't mean he didn't have a few tricks up his sleeves.
Soon, the man would feet a sword up against his neck. The blade would bite into the skin slightly. The sting and little bit of blood would alert the man to his immediate danger. At least, John hoped that it would.
"I admit, you must have nothing to do if you planned on harming a defenseless girl. Don't you have any manners? Oh wait, you probably don't. But where are mine? I'm John. John Greene. I think you should know that name, unless your head has been in the clouds for the past nineteen years. Then again, I am not the favorite." John grinned and looked over at the girl, hoping she knew this would be the best time to escape. We can chase the dark together

Wandering the town. Bella just slowly followed after the man that was pulling her towards an alley. She was paying attention to John sneaking up on the man that was dragging her away. As soon as John's blade touched the man's throat his grip loosened around Bella's arms. Bella waited, wanting to get a good chance to do what she wished. She spoke softly, to both John and the man. "Now, sir, why have you chosen to try and get me? Is it because I look weak? Well sir, you have just chosen the wrong women to try and kidnap."
With that Bella quickly turned in the man's arms, one of her fists connecting with the males jaw. As he staggered back she just smiled and turned on her heels and walked off but before doing so she turned and spoke to John. "Thank you sir for distracting him for me. But there was no need for it, but thank you."

As we sleep among the dead ((ILast post for tonight. I need to head to bed. sweatdrop )) John was glad the girl wasn't stupid. He would hate to be possibly related to someone incomptent in the art of escape. After all, John had to do it so many times in his life time. It was something that was instinct to him now. He wasn't the retreating type, just the type to know how to escape if need be. John was no coward.
Now he was bit surprised when the girl came back and punched the man in the face. To make sure his throat wasn't slit by accident, he let go of him as the punch finished it's impact. John was sure the man had collapsed unto the ground from the force. "Wow! You got one mean right hook!" John commented, soon wishing he hadn't.Stupid me! She is possibly related to you and you didn't think through what you said! Idiot, idiot, idiot!
His ears heard the girl talk to him and he smiled warmly at her.
"It was no problem at all. After all, I wouldn't be from Fortitude if I can't even stand up to a big fat bully!" John joked happily and now grinned, soon putting his sword back into his sleth. We can chase the dark together

In an alley with John and an unconscious man. Bella just turned back and smiled to John before turning back around and heading towards the woods. She wanted to actually meet her brother, but was a little shy, unsure on what he would think of her. She stopped as she was just about to leave the alley, hearing what he had said about being from Fortitude. She slowly turned and spoke to him in a calm even tone. "I am sure that is true sir, but I wouldn't be from Fortitude if I couldn't care for myself. For this is not the first, nor will it be the last I am sure, that this has happened."
Bella was about to turn and head off once more, but stopped and spoke softly.
"I do thank you though John Greene for the assistance. But I really must go, for if a guard sees me here with this man unconscious I will be punished, even if it was in self defense. So I am sorry for cutting this meeting short, but I must go." Bella looked about her, making sure no one was coming towards them yet, not wanting to risk getting caught. She then turned to face John once more, her eyes locked with his. "But if you wish to meet up with me, for I am sure you have been looking for someone, meet me by the large oak tree over there." Bella pointed to the woods, her finger showing where to go to find the tree. She then gave a small bow and walked off towards the oak tree. She would relax near the tree until he showed, even if she was only allowed to relax a few minutes.

As we sleep among the dead ((Sorry for the short post. I'm sure once we get this rolling, I'll get some more writing substance down. 3nodding )) John had to agree with that statement. Fortitude was known for it's courage and bravery. It wouldn't be that without it's citizens. They are just as strong as us royals. Actually, in the end, there honestly isn't much difference between us. We are all people of this land. The only difference is our position and power in life.
He noticed the girl had walked off and wondered why she did that. His eyes had been staring off into space. John could remember a finger pointing to an oak tree. That was when his mind remembered what the girl had said. "But if you wish to meet up with me, for I am sure you have been looking for someone, meet me by the large oak tree over there."
Thus, after making sure the man was alive and would be found by the local milita, he made his way to the tree.
John sat down by the girl and smiled at her.
"You are pretty strong. Where did you learn to punch like that?" John asked curiosly, trying to start off with small talk. We can chase the dark together

Sitting under an oak tree with John Bella smiled to herself as she watched John walk up to her and sit down next to her. She had been watching the sky, the clouds passing over her head in a slow movement. She looked over to John slightly as he asked about her strength, speaking softly to him. "That, John, might be better answered at a later time. I will answer that question for you, but not right now. So ask something else of me if you wish."
Bella smiled slightly as she leaned back against the trunk of the tree. Her eyes strayed from John and back to the sky. She was tempted to just show John what she was, to go and run like she so wanted to. But she didn't want to cause any problems, she had finally been able to meet her brother, and she didn't want to cause him to not speak to her again.

As we sleep among the dead ((Never mind! With me coming down with something, I can't gurantee the post length. Gah! sweatdrop )) Okay? Why couldn't she just answer me now? John admittely raised an eyebrow at that. However, he let it go just as quickly as it showed up. That didn't mean his curiosity had been subdued. It just meant he wasn't going to pry. "Alright. That is fine by me." John smiled and lied back on the ground.
He stretched himself out and enjoyed the warmth of the day. The sun blinded his eyes a bit. Thus, he had his hand over his eyes, but with the fingers slightly spread apart. That way, he could still see the sky.
The sky was a nice shade of blue. Not just blue, many shades of blue. There was some fluffy white clouds too. None of the dark forboding ones that signaled a storm. The clouds were few in number as well. This day was a good day. John could just see that with ease.
His eyes looked over at the girl, finally remembering what he was going to ask her.
"I know this may sound noisy, but have you ever been at or in the castle in Fortitude's captial before?" John asked curiosly, his hand now over his other one. Now they were both over his stomach, completely relaxed and calm. We can chase the dark together

Under an oak tree ((Sorry about the shortness Alice, brain is kinda unfocused)) Bella sat there, enjoying the view of the clouds above her head and the feel of the soft breeze on her cheeks. She was smiling to herself as she relaxed, glad to have her brother with her finally, but also a little sad knowing he didn't know of her. She listened to John speak, asking her if she had been to the castle. She was a little saddened by the fact that she hadn't been wanted, but was also glad for it had given her the freedom she had needed. She answered in a soft level tone, her words carrying only to John's ears. "Up until recently I have been living in these woods. I was at the castle once upon my birth."

As we sleep among the dead ((It's alright. My posts aren't being long either. XD)) "Hm? You sure? A guard there mentioned a girl that he believed looked a lot like me and my brothers. You look exactly like her." John told honestly and lied on his side now, his head looking up at hers.
He had come all this way to find her, wondering if it was possible he had a sister. John hadn't told anyone of this quest. Not even Haven. He felt a bit bad for not telling his brother, but didn't want to get rejected or called stupid. Haven wasn't a mean guy. John just didn't want to push it. After all, Haven did have to deal with people who would anger most people. He was the heir after all.
Then a part of the girl's statement finally settled into his mind. It brought confusion to his face and made him wonder. What does she mean by since once upon my birth? Was she a daughter of one of the servants? No. That wouldn't explain the resemblance. Wait...that can't be. Could it? Everything would make sense if that was true. But why no tell us?
His mind had now figured out something through his long inner rant. John just hoped the girl wouldn't get freaked out or run away after he asked his pressing question.
"When you say since once upon your birth, do you mean you were born in the castle? If so...does that mean you are....possibly...." John shook his head and looked away, embrassed at him assuming such a crazy idea. "P-please forgive me! I shouldn't assume such things!" John told nervously and truthfully, looking down at the tree nearby. We can chase the dark together

Speaking to John
Under the oak tree Bella smiled slightly as she looked down to John, she was surprised he was being so trusting of a stranger. Was even more surprised that he was being so open to a stranger as well. Bella laid her hands in her lap, her fingers interwoven together as she thought of how to respond. "I am sure, up until a few weeks ago I have never been near the castle, other then the one time I was there on my birth."
Bella looked to John, waiting for him to finish his question, not wanting to have to openly say she was his sister. She was unsure of how he would handle that, but upon hearing him pause and then say sorry she shook her head slightly and spoke softly. "Does that mean what? That I am your sister? If that is truly what you were going to ask then I will give you my truthful answer."
Bella took a deep breath, trying to prepare herself for the rejection she was sure she would receive from him. "Y-Yes, I am your s-sister. Your mother gave birth to me, and upon seeing me..." Bella's words trailed off, unsure if she should tell him what had happened to her on the day of her birth. She was unsure if he would get upset with her and deny her claims, or if he would just leave.

As we sleep among the dead (()) He hated the fact that he was being so open. It was strange for him to do so. Yeah, he was talkative around Haven and close friends. John just wasn't that social with others. Mainly, because John's social akwardness usually made things akward. I wish I knew how to socialize better.
Now John was usually trustworthly of most people. The only people he gave any distrust to was his parents and anyone from Wraith. The war had caused that distrust. Other than that, as long as a person seemed trustworthy, John felt safe. If they didn't, he wouldn't open up. Simple as that.
As soon as the girl started to speak, he tuned out everything else. It was extremely hard however. His mind liked to be in multiple places at once. This habit of his mind had started after his friend commiting sucide. John realized after awhile that it was probably copling mechaism.
Back then, all John could think about was his friend's death. His heart and mind became dark and depressed. His parents didn't seem to care, but Haven worried over him. Thus, when he realized how much stress he could be causing his brother, John learned to think mulitple things at once.
It had backfired.
Now he couldn't think on a single thing without using all his concretration. John had to admit it was a pain in the butt.
His mouth opened to comment on the fact she had been at the castle after her birth. It sooned shut when she continued. John felt impatient for her answer. He needed to know if his suspricion was true or not.
When the girl finally answered, John could only grin.
"I knew you had to be my sister. I just knew it." John told honestly and smiled at her. "But...does that mean your last name isn't the same as ours, since I'm guessing our mother ditched you on purpose?" John asked curiously and tilted his head.
He wasn't surprised that she had been ditched. After all, they can be pretty cold. He was more surprised, however, that they hadn't ditched him. Why ditch their only daughter when they could have ditched the son they don't love? Wierd. We can chase the dark together

Bella signed slightly as she heard him speak of his mother, and ask about her name. "Truthfully, John I was never given a name. I gave myself my name, only adding your last name to it recently when I saw you, and saw that I looked a lot like you. But I have never said I was related to you, for fear of being rejected."
Bella looked to him as she took a deep breath, she was about to show him why she had been ditched by his mother. She was frightened for she didn't know what his reaction would be, she just hoped he wouldn't reject her as well. "I will show you why I was given up, but I will warn you, I tend to frighten a lot of people. They tend not to like my true form and run away."
Bella stood up and walked a foot away from John and turned to him. As she faced him she took a deep breath and slowly shifted into her true form. A few minutes later a wolf stood where Bella had been, her red eyes focused on the form of John. As she stood there a soft voice spoke to John, a voice that was not heard out loud, but was heard mentally. 'This is why I was tossed out into the woods to fend for myself or die. I was not born a human child, I was born in this form, the form of a wolf pup.'
