Lethal Shadow's Wake
The lethal shadow awaits her,
Her knowledge of this is great.
~But knowledge cannot save her,
from the demonic ecstasy that will ensue.~
As the candle simmers into dank blackness,
her tears boil over into a salty heat,
leaving her parched with bloodlust.
But not of her own accord.
Not the work of she, but of demons,
as the scarlet line gets longer, and deeper.
Her only release,
in a world full of mistrust and hate.
Exaulted are her demons,
they scream in her heart
'Bloodshed maketh satan sing'
they claw at her sanity, they claw at her soul.
With no hope before her,
In this lethal shadow's wake,
she gathers parchment and pen,
and resigns herself to death.
But with the speed that they arrived,
the demons disappear,
Leaving behind an eerie peace,
as she lay bleeding, and afraid.
Decision made,
she writes her final adieu.
& her blood stained tears
hit the parchment before her
as the brightest hour of her darkest day
comes to a shuddering halt.
& never before, has so much peace,
led to so many scarlet stains.
