Blarg. It is 5:30 in the am and I want to throw my dad through a window right now... to try and earn extra money the old man wants me to do day labor. I cannot stress enough how much I hate this. Unfortunately I can't apply till today.... at 9am. I told my old man this last Friday. I swear he only hears about half of what I'm saying... The place opens up at 4:30 and he wakes me up at 5 because he didn't here the 9am part. How can you confuse 5am with 9am? they don't even rhyme. What's worse is, I've got a job interview for a seasonal gig at 11am, a visit from this lady at a family help center at 2pm that's gonna help us keep our electricity on, and a drug intervention hosted by the flying spaghetti monster. (that last one is full of crap but I'm tired, I have a headache, and I can't get back to sleep without feeling even worse when I wake up later)

I just got a call from my most promising job prospect telling me that that while I was the smartest applicant with the strongest background, they're going to go with another girl who had worked in the same lab for like 2 months a couple years ago just because she's more familiar with the setup of the lab and they want to get moving faster.

And that if the position was going to be for more than eight months (which is all I want anyway, since I'll be entering grad school by then) that he'd likely have gone with me because he thinks I'm better qualified and "a highly intelligent young woman". And then he wished me luck elsewhere. c**k.

I needed to get that out somewhere because my housemates aren't back yet. All better now.

I made pumpkin soup. And its ******** GOOD.

Haven't talked to my boyfriend in almost 10 days. It feels like eternity. I know he's busy and all. But ******** him. T____T

I hate using nuke. I don't like compositing at all. I can see where it's useful but I don't like using it. There's different nodes that basically do the same thing and I can't remember half of them or even what they do.

In the end, my second asset looks like s**t.

The first one looks pretty decent. Maybe. . . . . No. It just fails a little less.

Warning: Gaming rant.

I was on Dungeon Fighter making my runs as my launcher. I join a party that was trying to get the higher level on one of the dungeons. I thought it would be good because I needed to get that dungeon level too. I never personally got any rank higher than A in most dungeons.

Okay so in our party we had two slayers (I'm not familiar with their subclasses), myself and another launcher. So I'm feeling good about this. Launchers can take out a lot of things. Slayers can keep the monster off our backs while we shoot everything else down.

WRONG!

Both of us launchers had to pretty much fend for ourselves. Which sucked because of the monsters interrupting our skill animations. The slayers had the balls to tell us we suck. Well, no DUH! Launchers are pretty much useless if our skills get interrupted! We're a RANGED class for crying out loud. The only other ranged gunner sub-class that can go decently well in both close and long range would be the ranger(rangers can melee and have skills to support their attacks more effectively).

We're LAUNCHERS. It's a given that we actually have to AIM and out animations take a bit longer. We fire in a straight line. We don't do AOE until level 30, but even then we're pretty limited.

Low-leveled launchers are pretty handicapped with the whole, "Don't get hit" issue. We have to sit there, shoot, and hope we hit whatever is on the other side of the barrel. Most of the time, we don't. Monsters get too close to us and we CAN'T hit them. We get hit, our skills get canceled on the spot. Awesome, right?

So after the slayers kick us out, I'm pretty much fuming. Thankfully I had a better party experience after a few runs of dragon BBQ and golem deaths.

Goddamn, now I'm more than biased against slayers in general. I've seen more bad slayers than good (in terms in player etiquette). To be honest, if I had to pick my own party of classes. I'll pick everyone else over the slayers. The only melee-based class I'll pick over all would be priests. . . They can heal and buff everyone else. . . And still do a s**t-ton of damage. . . I didn't get as much experience with a fighter-class teammate so I can't make judgments with that class.

As an afterthought disclaimer: I am not the best damned Launcher ever. I'm just slow and easy to hit. I can't cancel a lot of my skills and do decent combos. Anyone who expects a launcher to be OMFG awesome at level 20-30 is insane. We're still getting used to the sub-class skill set for the most part (we get our sub-class advancement quests at level 18 ). Unless that said launcher has another launcher in their account. I don't, my launcher is my first character. Whatever mistakes I do with him, I'll try not to repeat for my other gunners (I have 2 more).

In other words, I love my launcher but I hate grinding beyond the level requirement of a specific dungeon to get a higher area in said dungeon. Then again, I usually like to play around with other skills before I decide to level them up or not. So I'm a bit stunted in how much power my launcher can throw down.
