I've never been a morning person. It's always really hard for me to get myself up in the morning.
Lately, it's been getting more difficult. I had a bad back injury about ten years ago and I'll be dealing with it for the rest of my life. I usually wake up very stiff and in much pain. And since I'm already not a morning person, it makes it even more difficult. I usually end up being very bitter and just not a very nice person to be around within the first few hours of me getting up.
I am thankful to God that I am able to see another day and in this weather, the mornings have been very bright and sunshiny. But I still have that morning bitterness and complaint in my heart.
Does anyone else experience something like this? What do you do?

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I'm not much of a morning person myself. Though, for me, I think it's because I'm more of a night person, and wind up staying up until quite late at night. I usually don't crawl out of bed until ten, ten thirty in the morning because I'm often up until three, three thirty in the morning.
When I wake up, I'm grouchy, and usually a little snappy at the other people in my house until I feel more awake.
To help with this though, when I first wake up, before I even get out of bed, I"ll say a little prayer, thanking God for the day, and asking him to help me be a blessing to others. It's not anything grand, just a small simple prayer, but I think it helps me feel a little less grouchy.

I am a sinner... "1 John 1:8"
My husband is the same way with his grumpy anger. he is quite difficult and rude in the morning. He too had a back injury about 8yrs ago that messes with him a lot.
I think what jewel said is a good idea, as soon as you wake up say a prayer asking God to help you work through your bitterness. Also maybe wake up with enough time to be able to devote to the Lord. By reading his word and by being in prayer. Maybe it will help shape the rest of your morning to become brighter and more enjoyable for you.
... Saved by God's grace "Acts 15:11"
