Gaia is our common ground ... but we all live around the world ... which brings me to the question at hand ... does one's environment effect their training ... I only ask because there are positive and negative effects to any sort of location ... humid places like Thailand or say Florida in the United States ... you can definitely get a sweat ... but one must worry of dehydration ... places like Canada, Russia, or Alaska are generally cold through out the year ... which can make a body hard ... but you might get sick ...

So doe one's environment effect their training methods ...

I live in Montana, just shy of a mile over sea level. This obviously alters the cardiovascular characteristics of my training, with the thinner air. Also, winters here are particularly brutal and long, and the weather itself is unpredictable at best most other times. For myself specifically, the abrupt barometric changes alter the performance of my joints and ligaments. Depending on the day, hour, and weather conditions at that time, training can be extremely difficult or quite easy! Outdoor training is almost out of the question entirely, since the weather can change in minutes here without warning and over half the year tends to be snowy and icy.

My dad owns a house up in Big Bear, California ... we generally go there during the summer for training (he brings a couple of the guys from the gym) ... the higher altitude helps with the cardio vascular stuff ... and the heat ... well it won't take long for someone to break a sweat ... as for the winter ... we sometimes train then ... the cold sucks ... but mentally it helps ...
