This will be the location for all Jedi to train in the art of Lightsaber wielding. This will be where a master will train you and you will learn your form well as well as improve your skills for the trials that you will face. Be prepared for None of us will go easy on you, and you will be trained brutally, but overall, you will improve. This is as much as combat training as it is interaction with the galaxy training. I hope you are willing to take on the challenge.

Darth Malice the Fallen Captain
|
Posted: Mon Nov 01, 2010 9:18 pm
Malice enters silently, cloaked and hidden from those that can see through the force. He watches as the student before him attacks one of the training droids, noting his flaws in form. The young man is angry, enraged to the point that his guard is uncentered, easily broken through if he were fighting a skilled opponent. Malice smiles, 'as good a place to start as any,' he thinks to himself. "Riza...your anger is your ally...but only if you rule it. Let it rule you, and death at the hands of an enemy is all you will find. Conquer it, bend it to your will, and let it strengthen your blows and make your guard impenetrable. Have you decided what form of saber combat you would like to study?" Malice addressed Riza without warning. As he strides forward, his black robes swirl elegantly about him, his old set of mandalorian armor he always wore hidden beneath their voluminous folds. His gait is lithe, as always...the walk of a pure artist with a saber. Alert, but unafraid and confident. The mark of his Sith past. Malice waits for Riza's response.

After talking about it Riza finds his focus and starts to do some damage to the training droid. After taking out the first he calls out two more mainly for practice.

Janlu stepped in, watching the others and studying them closely. She made as little sound as possible, not to be noticed unless she was saught out. Creeping closer she watched each of their expressions and manner as they conversed. Janlu tiled her head slightly as she observed the others.

It seems to me, you actually need someone aware of the multiple styles of the saber along with their usages.
Droids and self training dont do anything, if you want true saber prowess, I suggest looking for a little help, my fellow padawans

Janlu smiled. She had been noticed afterall. "I'm not creeping," she began, "mearly studying....from a distance so as not to disturb you." She walked closer to the group and stood among them. "Now, where shall we begin?" she asked with a confident stance, ready to begin.

Darth Malice the Fallen Captain
|
Posted: Tue Nov 16, 2010 10:21 pm
Malice strides forward, his gaze stern as he gazes at the three padawan before him. Taking charge before his class disentegrates into foolishness Malice says, "We will begin with the basics. Shii-cho is the beginning, the essential start of lightsaber combat. It's stance and motions are....rigid but well defined. Simple yet effective. It is a form....with no real faults, but then it lacks advantages as well. Shii-cho is essential, for it teaches basic defense and offense. Blocks, feints, counters, parries, body zones and positions can all be learned through it. Many a jedi has studied it, and many fall into its practice when their chosen form does not suit the situation. Space yourselves facing me about 10 feet apart from each other. Let your feet be spaced about shoulder width apart, your left foot back and pointing to the left, away from your body. Your right foot should be forward, toes pointing toward the opponent in front of you. Relax your shoulders and grip your hilt in your hands, right hand high about an inch and a half to two inches from the emitter. Your left hand should grip the hilt low, your pinkie wrapped underneath the pommel, cradling your hilt and giving it support and stability. Your blade should be held at about a forty five degree angle from you body, your knees slightly bent." Malice demonstrated the Shii-cho ready stance as he spoke, his position reminiscent of a samurai. "Take this stance and feel how the blade of yoor saber, nay, the saber itself becomes as an extension of your arm, a part of your being." Malice watched as his students heeded his words, He kept a close eye on the most learned of the group, his own apprentice, Janlu. She had progressed beyond this stage of her training, but he was curious to know if she would participate as the others learned, or if she would speak up about her return to the basics. The other two Padawan before him were ones he had not yet met personally, though he could already see their potential. Riza, if he learned to focus his anger could one day become a powerful sith, and Boltohn's calm demeanor marked him immediately as a student better suited to his brothers teaching. But then, the force was a strange thing, and their paths could twist and change many a time before their training was complete. Janlu...Janlu, Malice thought to himself as he watched them, was one he was still unsure about. It was true Malice wanted her to be his student, what with her talents, but she could go either way. "When you all are in your stance, and you believe it to be as i said let me know, so that I can make adjustments and correct any mistakes that may arise."

Janlu smirked. She recalled not too long before, this same begining and yet...it had been a while since she'd been able to practice. Her former master was shrewd in denying futher training until she could aquire the parts for her own saber. Maybe this time can be different, she thought to herself before she began. With all this in mind, she focused on Malice's voice, following his every word and losing herself in what they were doing. Her last thoughts in curosity of future training, Janlu cast out all thoughts of distractions and concentrated.

Darth Malice the Fallen Captain

Malice watched Janlu carefully, noting the color of her thoughts. His apprentice was becoming better at hiding her feelings from him, guarding her thoughts from his ever searching mind. He could not sense exactly what she was thinking...merely her emotions regarding it, but that for him was enough. He could sense that she was eager, wishing wholeheartedly to continue her training. Putting these thoughts aside he addressed the other two padawans that were present. Showing them the basic strikes and positions for defense, he instructed them to drill using these strikes and blocks. He would allow repetitive drills to teach their muscles the motions....to make it reflex. Assured they had the proper footwork and blade positioning he turned to speak to Janlu. "I understand my young apprentice. This training is not necessary at this point in your training. If you wish to practice with them to better teach yourself the motions, you may. Or you may choose to learn from me the beginning stances, strikes, and parries for Niman. Modified for use with a saber staff of course. The decision is yours" Malice absently fiddled with his hilt, twirling it between his fingers as he spoke. He activated it, showing the Riza a mistake in form. "Your choice Janlu?"
