Basic list and descriptions of different blaster variants in ascending order from smallest to largest.

Holdout Blaster (A.K.A. Scout Trooper Blaster)

Small, palm-sized blasters that could be easily concealed inside a sleeve. Because of their small size, holdout blasters usually could only fire six shots before expending their power cells. The association of holdout blasters with more nefarious characters meant that such blasters were outlawed on some worlds.

Sporting Blaster

These light weapons were often used by beings of noble heritage, who preferred a more elegant alternative to the uncivilized standard blaster. These thin-barrelled blasters were designed for use in firing ranges and small-game hunting. They were light and easy to carry. Sporting blasters had a shorter range and packed less power than a standard pistol sidearm, though they had the advantage of being more affordable, and required less bureaucratic hassle to obtain.

Blaster Pistol

A blaster pistol was a small, hand-held version of a blaster rifle, and was commonly referred to simply as a "blaster." A pistol would tend to have less firepower than its rifle or carbine cousins: they had enough power to kill a humanoid and punch through body armor, though they did not have the energy to pierce the hull of a starship. There were many different varieties of blaster pistols.

Ownership and use was regulated in many systems, generally in the form of restrictions and regulations. Coruscant was one such example, as was the mining world of Peragus II, where only lower strength mining lasers were allowed.

Heavy Blaster Pistol

A heavy blaster pistol was a more powerful version of the standard blaster pistol. Heavy blaster pistols were basically cut-down blaster rifles, utilizing a more highly powered gas chamber, firing larger, more damaging bolts with a wider beam. Though bulkier and heavier than blaster pistol, the heavy blasters advantage was the firepower. It had power comparable to a blaster rifle but a shorter range than the typical blaster pistol. The power pack was generally the same size as a standard pistol and was consumed at a considerably higher rate than a typical blaster pistol. Due to the weapon's formidable power it was in most systems heavily restricted if not entirely illegal.

Blaster Rifle

Rifles were heavy duty blaster variants, much more powerful than a pistol, although heavy weapons were more powerful than rifles. Most rifles came equipped with a stun setting, used to temporarily disable an opponent. Blaster rifles had a retractable stock and weighed about 4.5 kg for most models. The ideal range for the weapon was roughly 30-60+ meters. The typical blaster rifle had a value of 1,000 credits in the legal market; however, since the weapon was illegal for civilian use in a majority of systems, black market sales were prominent.

Blaster Carbine

A blaster carbine was a shortened variant of an already existing weapon, traditionally blaster rifles. They offered distinct advantages from other weapons. First and foremost, they were generally shorter and lighter than their heavier cousins, and allowed for more capabilities especially in confined environments; they also had a faster rate of fire than a typical blaster rifle. In addition, carbines were often cheaper to produce than ordinary rifles. In exchange for these advantages however, they had a shorter range, less accuracy and less stopping power.

Repeating blasters

Repeaters, were blaster or projectile weapons that could fire many rounds in a short time intervals. They were a somewhat larger version of the DC-15 blaster rifles used by the clone troopers in the Clone Wars.

Several variants existed, but these weapons could generally be divided into two major categories: personal repeating blasters, and mounted repeating blasters, it was normally mounted on a tripod and is portable. It has also been mounted on ships such as the T-16 skyhopper, but this is not common.

Pulse blaster
A blaster variant that instead of projecting a concentrated bolt of energy, fires a wide wave or “pulse” that quickly loses its power over greater distances but the effects up close are devastating. It is popular among law enforcement officers who have to deal in narrow alleys as well as with military during boarding actions and bunker clearing missions. Some civilian variants require a manual recharging motion after each shot to rearm the weapon. Also known as “Scatterguns” some variants can be found as an attachment for conventional blaster weaponry, giving the user a choice between the two weapons without taking his eyes off the target.

E web-Repeating blasters
The E-web Repeating blaster can normally only be fired when mounted on a tripod. And usually requires a second crew member to regulate the large power pack used to feed this weapon. In combat it lays down an impressive amount of fire where ever the business end is pointed

Heavy repeating blaster
The heavy repeating blaster is a fearsome weapon typically operated from a bunker emplacement or mounted on a combat vehicle. Its firepower is truly fearsome, cutting though all but the strongest armor and virtually all personnel shields.

Exotic and solid projectile weapons:

Disintegrator

A terrifying weapon to see in use, disintegrators are based off of a piece of mining equipment, used to remove large boulders. disintegrator pistols and rifles earned their name by how the function. Instead of firing a bolt of energy, disintegrators destroy objects at a molecular level with a sustained beam, reducing targets to dust or less. Their use has been banned by the republic

Flame thrower
A fearsome weapon that spews forth a deadly concoction of burning chemicals in a cone that is thirty feet long and fifteen feet wide at the terminus, the flamethrower is feared weapon on the battlefield. It comes in smaller variants that have lesser effective ranges. Mandalorians and soldiers alike have been known to mount them on their gauntlets for an edge in close quarters combat.

Bowcaster
A weapon native to Kashyyk, the bowcaster is a fusion of ancient and modern technologies. Firing an explosive quarrel wrapped in an energy envelope at blinding speeds. Because of this it is particularly useful against armored targets.

Grenade launcher
A weapon used to deliver high explosives and other ordinance on target from a greater distance that what would normally be able to be done with a hand thrown explosive. The grenade launcher comes in many variants but the most common are six shot launchers carried as a standalone weapon. And single shot launchers, carried as a secondary weapon or as an attachment to a blaster weapon system.

Dart caster
A discreet weapon favored by bounty hunters and assassins, the darts themselves are not lethal but can be used to deliver any manner of deadly or debilitating drugs, chemicals or poisons. Dart casters are easily concealed and can take many shapes from tiny pistols to small tubes mounted on the side of a vambrace.

flechette launcher/pistol
A flechette launcher was an anti-personnel weapon that is used extensively in the Clone Wars. This weapon fired canisters containing hundreds of razor-sharp flechettes — durasteel darts that spread out over the large area. The projectiles would explode, releasing flechettes at high velocity in a wide spread. A single antipersonnel canister could eliminate an entire squad of soldiers, while anti-vehicle rounds, consisting of eleven-centimeter-long missiles, could affect a concentrated area of five meters in diameter. The flechettes contained within were strong enough to rip through ten centimeters of durasteel, and were effective countermeasures against airspeeders and other light repulsorcraft. Flechette launchers could also be wrist-mounted. The bounty hunter Mahwi Lihnn wore a palm flechette shooter.

Missile launcher
Portable, handheld missile launchers are common heavy assault weapons used by artillery divisions of many military forces. They were necessary in various types of combat to destroy enemy vehicles, command stations, and eradicate large numbers of infantrymen. An example included the PLX-1 portable missile launcher. In many different armies, certain soldiers were especially trained to use missile launchers.

Solid Projectile Weaponry
considered by most to be antiquated antiques, solid projectile weapons can be just as effective in the hands of a skilled user if not more so than a blaster. There are several benefits to using “slug throwers” Chief among these is that most modern body armors are designed to bleed of heat and dissipate energy. Solid projectiles punch neat holes in these. Also, parts can be easily manufactured and the weapons can be silenced with little effort, unlike blasters which require extensive work to remove the visible light trail from a blaster bolt.

Wrist rockets
A small weapons system usually mounted on the wrist, hence the name. when an individual does not have the space or back to carry a heavyer weapons system, but needs the extra punch. Wrist rockets are the solution. The user simply aims there hand and presses an activation stud, and then moves on.

Explosives(comes in many forms, grenades, missiles, rockets, mines, charges etc.)

High explosive
The standard from which all others are judged. when a high explosive charge detonates it causes debris and shrapnel to scythe away from the epicenter of the blast. Usually resulting in a five meter kill radius and a ten meter wound radius

Cryoban
Cryoban explosives are considered by many to be a bit odd, releasing not heat but intense cold, as low as -163 degrees Celsius, upon there detonation. They freeze organic tissue solid and leave most electronics and machinery untouched, just in need of a good defrosting.

Incendiary
The opposite of Cryoban, Incendiary weapons release a deluge of sticky burning chemicals that set the surrounding area on fire burning with great intensity, the fires are extremely difficult to put out.

Cracker
Cracker weapons or “Crak” for short are weapons that cause a localized implosion in an given area. These weapons are primarily used in anti-structure or anti vehicle roles.

Glop
A nonlethal weapon system, “glop” is a combination of fast acting adhesives and elastic chemicals that harden soon after coming in to contact with air. They are used to subdue and restrain individuals or groups of people by tethering them to the floor. Glop flakes away after two hours and is biodegradable

Concussion
A weapon that upon detonation unleashes a wall of force in to the surrounding area, usually used to disorient, this is a non-lethal weapon.

Thermal Detonator
One of the most lethal weapons systems available exclusively for military use. This weapon, once detonated, reduces all objects in a preset radius to its component parts and leaves nothing but a spherical crater behind. The weapon can be rigged with several features including timers and a dead man’s switch

Modifications: the galaxy is vast and wide and so is its weapons all of the above can be modified in different ways based upon the individual using the weapon, some might care to fine tune the beam emiter and focus crystals adding a scope to make a snipers weapon. others might shorten the barrel and increase the cycler to make a rapid fire close quarters weapon. feel free to make the weapons you use your own. but remember. all modifications have drawbacks you know it and the enemies that you face know it to. be sure to plan accordingly.

possible modifications include but are not limited to

Barrel Extentions/sniper mods: weapon remains accurate over greater distances but becomes unwieldy when used for quick assaults

Cutdown weapons: removing a rifles stock and shortening the barrel makes a weapon deadly in close quarters but its accuracy suffers

Ultraviolet blaster crystal: Removes the visible "beam" from a blaster shot making it difficult to trace by sight, useful but makes the weapon harder to sight in on a target, also the crystal is fragile and rapid shots may cause a burn out.

Scopes: a multitude exist from simple red dots on a field to complicated optics that enhance the shooters sight allowing them to shoot accurately in the most adverse conditions. have a tendency to make it difficult to use a weapons iron sights

weapon attachments: underslung weapons and the like, and versitility to the users arsenal, though they and the extra ammunition that they require increase the weapons weight making it difficult for someone to carry for long periods of time

Melee attachments: Reinforced weapons frames and blades, allow the user to enter the melee without having to swap out there primary weapon. a deadly combination because you bring BOTH a gun and a knife to a knife fight. this modification tends to make a weapon barrel heavy and accuracy suffers unless compensated for with training.

security systems: voice activation software, palm readers and the like insure that only cleared users can fire the weapon, though you run the risk of having a ally pick up your weapon to use and be unable to do so.
