I'm not really into Korean boybands (Big Bang is actually pretty good and I have a few songs by various groups), but I love Korean girl groups. 8D

I DO NOT LIKE KPOP
i was never one to be like "oh the fans ruin it!" but seriously, when they step in on jpop saying kpop is the best and everything jpop sucks, despite that all i said was "i prefer jpop but i do like f(x)" gets so old. Kpop fans are the most thick-headed brand of people, next to anti's going to concerts just to boo -_-; and when fans use excuses like "jpop people can't sing and their music is crap!" it gets repetitive in a bad way when you have to say "all those kpop idol groups almost never sing live, its all pre recorded/not live." How do i know? No mic rips & you can pretty much tell if its lip-synced. With the current trend of dance-pop its pretty hard to sing live when your breathe makes you sound like a walrus that just got through giving birth.
However i do like f(x) lololol. They're super cool, and Amber makes it so not generic. i like Brown eyed girl's ga in. her eyes are sexy, and abracadabra was a master piece. Snsd was great with gee, but they've been fading for me. If it weren't for soyoung i would be over snsd.
and agree with kokoro, korean girl groups disown korean boy bands : D

I like K-pop. I have never ever felt the desire to join a fan forum or connect with other people who like K-pop or to see the groups live. There is a girl in my dorm who is obsessed with various Korean boy bands, and it's all she talks about. Ever. She's going to see them live here in Tokyo, but for some reason she's also FLYING TO KOREA during FINALS WEEK to see them live again. I would never do that. Even for H!P.
A lot of Korean groups do sing live, Sora. If it's their debut stage, they may lip-sync, but most groups do sing live. At least, the main singers do. But when has idol music ever been about vocal prowess? Personally, I feel like the typical Korean singer is much better at singing than the typical Japanese singer, but it's stupid to compare. They're two different music industries in two different countries.
SNSD's Japanese stuff sucks. Just sayin'. SNSD and KARA are really big here right now, but I prefer the Korean versions of their songs.
Most Korean groups follow a formula, but f(x) takes that formula and makes it seem unique. Amber and Luna and Sully are awesome. 8D Brown Eyed Girl's is my ultimate favorite; all of the members are genuinely talented, and Jea is a goddess. *w* -points to link in siggie-
I like sexy K-pop. Stuff like Gee and Oh! have to grow on me. Stuff like that gawd awful Magic Orange whatever 'C-ute rip-off' crap can suck it. But I love things like I Got Fooled By You, Run Devil Run, and La Cha Ta. They're sexy and confident and cool, and I get my hawtness fix out of K-pop. 8D J-pop goes the cute route way too often for me. Or maybe it's because I'm exposed to it all the time, and it's just kind of normal. ;D
BUT I HAD A POINT TO THIS POST. xD The K-pop VS J-pop argument is as retarded and pointless as the AKB VS MM argument. You're welcome to compare as much as you want, but it's not going to get you anywhere. There's no point in saying 'K-POP IS BETTER BECAUSE THEY CAN SING' or saying 'J-POP IS BETTER BECAUSE IT'S EASIER TO FIND CLIPS OF THEM SINGING LIVE ON YOUTUBE' (which is automatically invalid, because Korean TV stations are as quick to remove copyrighted content as Avex). Listen to both or either, like whatever groups you want, and ignore the fans if you don't want to deal with their bullshit. 8D The end.

yeah, kpop groups do sing live, but what i meant to say was its not like kpop hasn't comitted crimes that jpop has. I'm just at that point where i feel like it should stop, to a certain degree. & your definitely right about it never going to stop. 2ch has extreme anti's on their forum. Snsd has sold 100k already, but they still get bashed. And SKE48 has been out of korea for some time now, and people still have been posting hate comments. it just goes back to you can only defend yourself so many times... until you snap.
The ties for jpop and kpop are becoming more inevitable now. I'm completely find with korean bands moving in to Japan/America/where ever the hell they want, but why can't everyone just keep their hate-comments out of it. But everytime i think of it, i always feel like the conclusion keeps coming to "its just because theyre from _____." (nationalizing that is, it's not racist, i'd like to make that clear.)

Sora i understand what your saying. in each country members of groups get into scandals.
I love k-pop and they have really good variety shows omg they are so funny. I really like both k-pop and j-pop but lately I've been listening to k-pop alot since I can't get enough of SS501. They are having a comeback next year and it makes me happy

^ I know I was that because the leader of SS501 was in it back in 2008 before he acting in boys over flowers.
SS501 appeared in it two. They are a great boyband that im in love with compleatly. Their music is very good too.
They sag two OST of boys over flowers. The songs are "Because I'm Stupid" and "Making a Lover"
