I'm so proud of my goats this show season. We came out of our state show with a 1st in class. And in the other shows of the season( in order) we took a 5th, 2nd, 2nd, 1st(state), 1st, 2nd! This is with 2 different goats. And with one more show to go i cant wait! biggrin Its going to be awesome, and then it'll be breeding season. Whoo! Goat Babies!

Our State Fair doesnt even have a chicken show.... I wish it did though.... Do chickens have to be registered to show? I have two really pretty polish hens.

We were going to rent, but the people we asked said they didnt want to do stud service witht thier buck, so it is undecided yet again. rolleyes

I'm not sure. They just said they werent interested. But now mom is probably gonna just get us a buck, and then i think were gonna go back and sell it later, or use it as a companion when we get another buck for new blood into our herd.

Results from the final show:
Two 9th places. Really?! Some judges are stupid. I go to State. Up against like 25 other goats and I get a 1st, so then i come here and there are only like 15 other goats and i place 9th?!
The Judge put up a goat ahead of mine with bones so thin on the legs they looked like little sticks! How is a goat like that going to support much muscle? The judge the whole time was calling them Ewes and Lambs too! OMG they are Does and Wethers, or Kids! Take a stinking animal science class! It makes me wonder if he's even ever been to a goat show!? Much less seen a goat in his life before this show? He kept mentioning a rack on the goats? What is that? I've never seen a rack labeled on any goat parts picture, so how in the world in a little 10 yr old, and the majority of the kids showing there going to know what that means?! That doesnt help at all when trying to pick a goat for next year, Or when trying to improve your herd....
