Ran across this sweet recipe for the fake blood in "The Evil Dead" movie. It's out of Bruce Campbell's autobiography If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor.
INGREDIENTS 6 pints clear Karo Syrup 3 pints red food coloring 1 pint non-dairy creamer 1 drop blue food coloring
EQUIPMENT Large ceramic bowl Medium sized bowl Spoon Cleaning products
Instructions The Karo Syrup is your foundation, the base of your blood. Pour syrup into a large ceramic bowl.
In the medium bowl, stir the non-dairy creamer until it turns into a nice paste. This will provide opacity.
Gradually fold the non-dairy paste into the syrup.
Stir in red food coloring. Add a drop of blue food coloring for density.
Test on white surface.
Coat aspiring actor from the top down.
To remove, place actor in hot shower, fully clothed, and let sit for 30 minutes or until clean.
twisted So in the wake of Halloween Get gross, gory and bloody and s**t lol

Haa, a bunch of my friends made a concoction like this for a slasher flick short they were filming (oh film students, talk about useless degree. wink ). You can also use corn starch or gelatin to thicken it in places so it looks partially congealed.

I can see the creamer though. It makes sense to make it more opaque, and the consistency is pretty close to blood.

OOOOH ;D I'm definitely gonna use this. You could probably also put chocolate syrup in the mix to add a darker tone. When I was in film club someone used chocolate syrup and food coloring for blood. 3nodding

I could never find invisible monsters at any of the three libraries I go to. And Im too broke to buy it right now. =[ It's hard, I love most of them, I can't choose just one, but my top three would probably be Rant, Lullaby, and Fight Club. Haha!

It starts with the last chapter and the last page and you read up to the first chapter and first page. It's basically about a death cult... good stuff lmao But I do plan to read rant, I'd like to read all his books. I've read a little of his horror stories they were pretty morbid lol
