Details
Promethos wasn't well loved, even as a fruit. His mother seemed to stick around out of obligation and nothing more. When he was a foal, she constantly left him with other Nequus, many of which he only met once or twice before then. Some of them had foals too, but they always teased him for looking strange. It didn't take very long for Promethos to be convinced that he was ugly, and that was why everyone hated him. He felt so alone that when his mother finally left him for good, Promethos barely noticed.
Since then, Promethos has taken to a life of lonely wandering. He is a very pessimistic Nequus who doesn't believe that there is anything good left in the world. He has completely given up on finding a place for himself, so he rarely seeks the company of other Nequus. When he is shown a bit of kindness, his first instinct is to be suspicious of the gesture. Promethos tends to guard himself from more pain by being the first to lash out. He can say and do some very cruel things if he feels that he is somehow in danger. Promethos' sense of self-preservation is the strongest around pure-blooded breeds of Nequus. Sometimes, he seems to downright hate those who are pure-bred. Thus, he has a tendency to be a bit more calm around fellow cross-breeds. In a calm state, Promethos tends to be more solemn than angry.

Energetic and enthusiastic Melora always seems to be ready to go. She isn't the type to sit idle, since she is a touch hyperactive and easily bored. She is also prone to getting lonely when she is left by herself for a while, so she is surprisingly friendly and clingy to other Nequus. She enjoys the company of young adult mares and stallions the most, but she may spend time with an older Nequus or a foal if she finds them interesting. As nice as Melora seems, others need to be careful around her. She takes personal offense very quickly, and when she is feeling hurt, she can become angry. Melora's temper is so fierce that it's hard to make her stop once she starts raging. Melora's stubbornness also makes her difficult to reason with, even if she is in a good mood.

Chiro has had a rough start in life. She was born in a herd of night dwellers such as herself, but she never quite fit in because she was so small. The other foals rarely wanted to play with her because she couldn't keep up with their longer strides and stronger legs. Then, as she started to reach adolescence, she was mercilessly bullied. It started as simple name-calling, but it quickly grew out of hand. One night, in the shadows, she was attacked. Sharp hooves tore her wing membranes and she was left there, battered and bloody.
Luckily, a scout came across Chiro and alerted her mother. Knowing that she could stay with the herd no longer, her mother took her away and nursed her back to health. She told Chiro to leave and find a new herd, where she could be safe. When Chiro was ready, her mother returned to the herd, leaving her alone for the first time. Chiro has been wandering the land ever since.
Chiro continues to live in the shadows of the night. She is almost completely nocturnal, and feels at home in the darkness. She is naturally secretive, so when she meets others, she is very reluctant to share anything with them other than a simple hello. Despite that, she is not afraid to speak to others. Though she may not be the most friendly Nequus, she means no harm to others and takes a liking to them quickly, especially if they show her kindness. Soft-spoken Chiro's wariness comes from her fear that someone will hurt her again. She feels anger and bitterness at her torn wings, which make it difficult for her to fly. She would prefer to guard herself by being quiet and careful than to take a risk, even if that means lying to a potential friend.

Frostine is quiet but sweet, with an eager to please nature. She can be shy around strangers and she will not stand up for herself very often, but she is quick to speak up if someone is planning to do something that could harm others. While she is happy as long as others are happy, and will usually go along with everyone else's ideas, she has a strong sense of right and wrong that can drive her to act when she would not normally interfere. Despite her placid and gentle demeanor, she refuses to agree with anything that she is not completely at ease with, so she cannot be easily manipulated, even if she seems to be naive and overly trusting. She is also downright stubborn at times, especially if she has a steadfast opinion about someone or something. She doesn't often change her mind once she has made a decision, either. Frostine's stubbornness makes her hold grudges against any perceived enemies for a long time.

Erik is a misunderstood and lonely Nequus who often takes authority into his own hooves whenever he has the opportunity. Unwanted and shunned for his strange mind as a foal, he now lives a private, nocturnal existence. He is as quiet as a ghost when he moves, which has earned him the nickname of Phantom, but he longs to let his voice soar with the songs that dwell in his mind. He is intelligent and creative, so he spends most of his time composing new songs and designing an odd array of inventions, some of which he tries to build in his secluded, cave-like home. Often he is comfortable with his solitude, but his loneliness occasionally may drive him out to where other Nequus may gather. When the Phantom chooses to reveal himself, he comes off as a charismatic and gentlemanly stallion with a particular fondness for the company of mares. But, as others get close to him, they will see his dark side. Erik is manipulative, skilled at hypnosis and ventriloquism, and if things aren't going his way, he will often resort to violence to turn things back in his favour. He believes that he has been shunned for his appearance and the dark melodies in his mind so deeply that he doesn't see that it is his actions that drive other Nequus to fear and hate him.

Twig is as docile as Nequus come. He is very shy around strangers, especially other stallions, because of his cautious nature and unusually small size. It can take a long time and a lot of patience to get Twig to open up. He is also very conscientious, which makes him aware of the little things in his surroundings. Twig is so gentle that he wouldn't hurt the smallest of living things, so he often tends to plants and small creatures that could be overlooked by other Nequus. This attentiveness can sometimes make him sensitive to the emotions of others. If someone is feeling upset, he can often see it even if they try to hide. It's hard to keep secrets from Twig, but he will never reveal what he has seen if there is a risk that he could hurt someone's feelings.
Deep down, Twig has very little self-confidence due to events in his past. He was raised alone by his father, who had been disgusted by his son's weak stature and gentle personality. Twig was eventually cast out on his own, but the damage his father caused still lingers.
