I have recently started hosting a new monthly poetry contest. There is one open right now. The best poem--there must be at least five submitted poems before we start voting in the poll I'll set up in it--will get 500 gold, submitted by myself personally if someone will please explain to me how you donate gold...argh.
Anyway, it's a Halloween-themed thing...doesn't really have to be scary or sad, just can't be happy. For example, mine is about Greek mythology (yes I myself submitted a poem) but since it isn't happy, I'll let mine be and I'll let any be as long as they are in poetic form (this means that it can't be written as paragraphs). Doesn't have to rhyme, can be set any way you like.
Rules:
1. Can't vote for yourself.
2. Can't be a happy poem.
3. Doesn't have to rhyme.
4. Can be really anything else.
5. Must be at least five entries of poetry before we start voting in the poll I'll set up in the topic.
To see the contest, check under the Poetry subforum.
I'm really disappointed in the lack of activity in the subforum, so I'm hoping this will boost up activity. I hope everyone attempts to participate. I'm especially counting on you, Lykie--you're real inspiration sometimes.

I will be hosting a poetry contest monthly, I hope. The rules listed above only apply to this month. After this month, it can be happy. But you still can't vote for yourself.
Follow the rules, submit the best poem you can muster, and I bet we'll all be happy!
