Chapter 1:

Once a very long while ago, or perhaps it was a short time ago, it depends on your opinion, there lived a cat who had no owner, no home, and no fish to speak of. Most cats loved to have fish, and this cat was no exception, she simply had very little luck in the fish department.

One day, after a horribly unlucky day at getting fish, the cat was walking back from the river when suddenly she did spy a child. And upon this child's shoulder was a stick. And on this stick were several large and fat fish.

Cats, being the clever creatures they are, can spot an opportunity when they see one. And this opportunity happened to be jumping up and down and waving it's arms, declaring that it was indeed and opportunity.

This cat was no exception when it came to be clever.

"This child is fat and must have a good home. He does not need these fish." Said the cat to herself.

So she ran up towards the child and did her best to get his attention.

"Little boy, those fish look heavy. You must be very strong." The cat said sweetly.

"I am." The boy replied in a haughty manner.

"I bet you are so strong that you could catch more fish and carry those along with those you have back home." The cat replied in a compliment like tone.

"Why, I could!" The child said.

"Why don't you then? I will hold your fish while you go and catch more." The cat said kindly.

"Why thank you cat! I'll go do that while you hold my fish!" And the child ran off back towards the river, dropping the fish in front of the cat.

"Sucker!" The cat said while taking the fish and running off.

The moral of this story: If a cat ever talks to you, run like hell!

((Hehe, yeah, either that's a smart cat or that was a dumb kid. But moving on, I must come up with another fable!))

Chapter 2:

On one sunny afternoon on a small chicken farm sat one particular chicken. This chicken was a marvelous thinker, a genius of a philosopher chicken. And he had quite a bit of common sense at that.

So naturally he knew of the fate of those chickens that never returned and time and time again had always managed to hide when the farmer came looking for a bird.

"I will not be able to hide for long." The chicken reasoned one day. "Eventually I will be caught. I must escape!"

This sounds simple no? But it wasn't. The complication was not in the door and opening it. The latch was nothing that a quick, jump and flap could not reach and knock open. No, this latch was not a problem at all. It was Brother, the farmer's dog.

This dog was very vicious and loved chicken as much as any creature that had the ability to eat meat could love chicken. But he was not allowed any by the farmer, none live that was, but cooked from table scraps was fine.

"I will never be able to outrun the dog...Aha!"

And the chicken went to find another of his kind and enlighten him of the escape plan.

Now we must take into account that it does not take a great deal of effort to outsmart a chicken. The things are quite stupid, except for this one chicken that is.

On the day that the smart chicken had planned his escape, he sent his associate that he had found to the door. He jumped up and opened the latch.

"Now, go outside and tell me if that dog Brother is out there." The smart chicken asked and his associate nodded.

The dumb chicken hopped out the door and clucked his way out in the open.

And that was when Brother swooped in with his massive jaws and grabbed the dumb chicken up.

The farmer found the dog with the chicken when he had heard the loud cluck of pain. He closed the chicken coop door and immediately got rid of Brother, for no farmer wants a dog that will murder his belongings.

Later, the smart chicken opened the door swiftly after nightfall and escaped, as did the rest of the birds since he forgot to shut the door.

The Moral of this story: When asked to be the lookout, say no.

((This was dumb. sweatdrop ))
