A small group traveled on a stone path. They all appeared to be in their early twenties. They laughed and talked, while all trying to lead the ground. They didn't pay attention to their surroundings. Strange ruins were on the side of the path. Green rune letters could be seen carved into the ruins. In the group were two men, and women. One wore a sword at his side. The hilt was pitch black. He was wearing light leather armor, with metal shoulder guards. His dark hair almost went down to his eyes. He was known as Benkei. The other man was known as Moku. He wore just thin clothing, and had carried a spear. The tip of the spear was curved, and stained with red blood. The shaft of the spear was dark red. He had the spear leaned against his shoulder as he marched forward, trying to pass Benkei. His somewhat gray hair stood upright, and the wind didn't effect it. Though his hair was gray, he was the same age as Benkei. Beside Benkei was a women by the name of Soyen. She carried two sickles with her, both sheathed, and hang loosely on her back. She wore the same light leather armor as Benkei. Her long brown hair went down her back, partially covering the sickles. The breeze made her hair flow like a stream almost. She would occasionally glance and smile at Benkei, he usually didn't notice. The other woman was walking slower than the rest. She was Encho, and she was too preoccupied with the strange ruins to care about leading. She wore more noble looking clothing, with a strange emblem on her back. It was an emblem that depicted a gem surrounded by rays of light. She, nor the rest of her group, knew what it was or meant. She had short red hair the barely moved with the wind. Something in the ruins suddenly caught her eye. "Hey! Come look at this!" Said Encho, beckoning the group over. They turned around to see her walking towards a strange green flame. "Why is it green?" Asked Encho, she didn't expect a good answer from them though. "Magic?" Asked Benkei, as bent over and looked at the flame closely. It was timid, and light green. "Well, maybe the Queen will know." "Maybe." Said Encho, with a sigh of relief. She hoped the Queen would know, she was interested in the green flame and refused to let it go by unanswered. "Then we have to seal it." Said Moku, he reached into his pockets. He pulled out a small square rock. He held it over the green flame, and covered on the rock. The rock suddenly opened and a dark string shot out from it. The string wrapped around the flame, defying logic and pulling it into the rock. The rock then closed shortly after, and Moku returned it to his pocket. "Alright, shall we continue?" "Sounds good." Said Encho, her eagerness was more then anyone else's. She began to increase her pace and bolted ahead. Soyen scratched her head still. She didn't see the importance in a green flame, but didn't bother commenting on it. She only shrugged and walked beside Benkei. They group gave up their attempt to lead, they couldn't compete with Encho when she was like this. The group walked in silence for a small bit of time. They're thoughts were all about the green flame and the city they were approaching. It held several clues about their target; the Dark Lord. They pressed forward, but all suddenly stopped when they heard a loud cracking noise. It sounded like a whip, they all turned to see a man in his late twenties holding a staff. He wore ragged clothing, and a strange hat over his head. He pointed the tip of the staff forward, and the orb would glow. Then from the orb, a bolt of lightning fired at a tree. The tree fell over, but before it hit the ground, the orb lit up again, and a blaze of fire erupted from the orb and turned it to ash. The man continued doing this, he appeared to be training. "Hello?" Benkei approached him with caution. "What are you doing?" "Training, of course." Said the man, not even taking the time to turn to see who was talking to him. "Why do you ask?" "Well, it's some impressive magic, and it was just out of curiosity." "I see." The man then turned to face Benkei and the small group behind him. "Where are you all heading?" "First to the nearby city called Kagaku." Said Benkei. "Then we hope to visit the Queen at the Kingdom a few miles from the city." The man smiled slightly when the Queen was mentioned. "Then may I come along?" Asked the man, his staff dissolved in the air, and he relaxed. "The more, the merrier." Said Benkei. He was perplexed by the suddenly disappearance of the staff and decided to not ask. The returned to the ground. "This guy is going to travel with us to the Queen." "This guy?" The man seemed insulted. "My name is Shaku." Snapped the man. "Ok? Then Shaku is joining us." Said Benkei. "Why?" Asked Soyen. Benkei scratched his head at the question, and turned to look at Shaku for the answer. "I want to see the Queen, that's all." Said Shaku. "Alright, so can we get going? I was hoping to get to Kagaku before dark." Said Moku, as he impatiently tapped his spear. "Yes, let's continue." Said Benkei, the group then started again of the path. Soyen and Benkei began to talk about weapons and blades as they walked. Moku, Encho, and Shaku were all bored with their conversation. After four hours of walking, the gates of a city could been seen about half a mile away. The walls were large, and towered high into the sky. They couldn't see over the wall, but they didn't seem to care. They were close to the city of technology, Shagaku.

They finally reached the gates into Shagaku. A large iron door blocked their path into it. The entrance was too heavy, and there didn't seem to be anyway to actually move it. The group was confused, except for Shaku, who was embarrassed by how they didn't know."How do we get in?" Asked Benkei, as he began to kick the door. Shaku sighed as he walked closer to the door. "Hello? We'd like to enter the city." Said Shaku in a stern voice. At first, no response came. They waited but heard nothing. Shaku waited patiently for the response, and several minutes later, they heard a voice. "What business do you have here?" Asked someone from the other side of the wall. He sounded old, but still talked as if he was able to handle them all. "We wish to pass by, as you know, a few miles after this city is the Kingdom. We'd like to just use this as a shortcut." Said Shaku. "We can't-" "I said open it." Said Shaku in a very stern voice. The guard then sounded irritated. "Who do you think you are?!" Shouted the guard, they heard stomped, then a small slit in the door opened and they saw him look out at them. He then appeared shocked at the sight of Shaku. "We are very sorry! We'll let you in right away!" The man ran off, and began to shout orders to the others. After a minute of yelling and strange noises, the door began to lift from the ground and the group entered. Inside, several guards stood holding strange weapons. They were long and narrow, like a strange crossbow. "I see you've finally finished developing it." Said Shaku, they only looked down as he turned his head towards them. "Yes, and it is to be called a gun." Said the man, he bowed to Shaku. "I see. Well, let's continue then." Said Shaku, turning back to the ground. They were all confused. "Shaku, who exactly are you?" Finally asked Moku. Shaku paused and looked as if he was thinking. "Just a lucky man." Answered Shaku with a slight shrug, he continued into the city. The group followed him, because he seemed to know the city better then they did. Large buildings towered above them. People walked by them, and glanced at their weapons. The citizens here seemed surprised to see those kind of weapons the group carried. Just as the group was surprised and confused by the guns. Smoke came from large chimneys and factories. "What an ugly city." Commented Soyen, as she looked around. The homes were all gray, as was the road and paths. At the edge of same paths they saw strange lanterns. In those lanterns were odd balls that emitted light. "What strange magic." Said Benkei, as he scratched his head. He walked closer to it, and stared into it. He rubbed his eyes as he looked away. "Powerful thing, it is." Said Benkei. "Stop!" Shouted several men dressed in a uniform. They all chased after one person, who continued to run at incredible speeds. Benkei ran in, and tripped the man. The man flew forward and skidded across the ground and rocks. Moku held the tip of his mighty spear over the back of the man. The uniformed men continued to thank the group as they arrested the man. He was then lead away, he continued to shout that this town was corrupt and everyone was going to die. "What did he do?" Asked Benkei to one of the men. "He...." The man seemed puzzled and had to pause to think. "He was suspected for treason!" Said the man at last. Benkei only nodded slowly and returned to the group. "What do you think?" Asked Benkei. "I think this town's corrupt." Said Moku instantly. "Don't just say that because you want to fight." Said Encho. "I believe he was a criminal and that's all there is to it." "Whatever you say." Said Benkei, they then found an inn to stay at over night. They rested in the rooms, but Shaku was still awake. He walked out from his room and looked into the sky. The stars were gleaming brightly, and there was a crescent moon. Two men stood and snickered, they wore the same uniform as the men that chased the criminal did. "Is that him?" Asked one, pointing at Shaku. "Yes, that's the King. I suppose we should kill him now before he gets away..."

Shaku sighed as he looked up. "I'll be there soon." Whispered Shaku, as if the stars could hear him. He closed his eyes and relaxed. He stood because of the lack of grass to sit on. While stargazing, he spotted the two officers that were watching him. He pretended not to notice, and let out another sigh. The street lights barely gave off any light, so he relied on the moonlight and his senses in case the two decide to attack. "Should we attack?" Asked the man. "Yes, the sooner the better." The loud noise rang through the area. Shaku barely evaded the small pellet. He realized it was a bullet from the new weapons they were creating here. "Only officers have guns..." Shaku remembered the man from before, how he shouted that the city was corrupt. His expression on his face was serious and he looked over at the two. They were running across the road to get the Shaku. Shaku held out one hand, an orb then manifested from shining dust. The orb swirled in the air above his hand, and roots branched out from it, to form the wooden staff. The orb rested tightly on top of it, and magical aura flowed around him now. The men didn't hesitate, but continued to run forward. Shaku disappeared then suddenly was standing behind them. He tapped the end of his staff into the ground, and fire erupted out under one of the men. The gunpowder in the guns caused an explosion. Shaku covered himself in a shield of rocks and other minerals that manifested before him without effort. The other man was caught in the explosion and his burnt carcass was lying beside him. The gun was still somewhat intact, and Shaku picked up the charred bodies. The other officers were now at the scene and shouting orders for Shaku to explain what happened. He didn't bother, he walked forward slowly, ignoring there heeds. He stopped in front of the general, he was the one who was leading the officers. Shaku held out the two charred bodies, which still gripped their guns tightly in their burnt hands. A small emblem showing they belonged to the Shagaku military force. "I believe these belong to you." Said Shaku, as he dropped the bodies at the general's feet. Shaku turned his back on the general, who's face was now red with anger. "I better not see any other disturbances for the rest of the night." Said Shaku, as he began his walk back to the inn. "Halt, scum!" Shouted the general in his rage. "I am general Baso, the leader of this officer division and right-hand-man in all political and military affairs! I order you to stop and explain yourself!" He had a gun already raised and pointed at Shaku's back. "I wouldn't bother stopped for something as idiotic as your request." Shaku continued to walk, he was aware of the gun pointed at him. With the shouting, the group was already up and looking out the window of the inn. The saw Shaku with his back turned against a division of about twenty men. "We have to help him!" Shouted Benkei, as he jumped for his clothes and sword. The rest quickly dressed into their battlements or stayed in their old clothing they were sleeping in. They charged down the stairs to the door. On their way down, they heard a loud explosion, and flames crackling. They ran out from the door, Shaku was already returning. His staff slowly turned to ash as he walked. Corpses littered the ground behind him, one man was still alive though. General Baso was pushing himself up. "What amazing willpower you have." Commented Shaku, even though he didn't look back. "Do you intend to fight me still? Or retreat to your master with your tail between your legs?" "You'll pay for this." Shouted the General, he then bolted off into the darkness. Shouting about his revenge. "How did you do that?" Asked the group almost all at once. They were amazed by his power and his weapon that he seemed to have complete control over. He could choose to have it come and go as he pleased. "Soul Weapon." Said Shaku with a yawn. "I'm going to get some sleep." "How do we obtain a Soul Weapon?" Asked Benkei. "By strengthening your will." Said Shaku, as he walked into the inn. The rest followed and he could hear them all whispering to each other on what they think he meant. "Your will must become strong. A Burning Will." Said Shaku. "How?" "I'll explain when we reach the Kingdom." Said Shaku, as he plopped down onto the bed, and began to snore. The group all glanced at each other, and decided to just sleep and wait for when they get there. They all went back to bed to sleep. General Baso ran down the streets, the dim light from the street lights guided him. He soon came across a large building at the end of the city. A floating orb levitated over the top of the building. Inside the orb were many colors, all mixing and swirling with excitement. He soon changed his sprint to a walk, and brushed himself off. He stopped at the door, and knocked a strange pattern. It then lit up, and opened for him. He proceeded in, he saw his leader, a woman in her early forties, sitting on a desk. "Hello, captain." Said Baso, as he bowed before her. "Where is the rest of your division?" Asked the woman with a cold tone. She turned to him with her red eyes. "What was that explosion I heard?" "It was an attack on us, My Lady." Said Baso. "Terrorists have entered the city in hopes of destroying and conquering it." Lied Baso. "What?!" The woman jumped from her desk. She wore iron gauntlets and her boots glowed. She was dressed in full battle armor. "Prepare the troops, we will not let this go by unpunished!" "Yes, My Lady." Baso rose and walked out from the door. He was smiling and snickering to himself. So easy to trick... He began to knock on doors of cabins to warn the troops they will be needed in the morning. He did this for several cabins, and then returned to his own. It was much better then the others, it had a glowing wall. Magic repelled all attacks on it, so he was going to be safe in there for now. He opened the door, and walked in. He had luxurious furniture and objects set around his room. He sat down with a sigh on his cushioned couch. He grinned, and laughed. "Oh, tomorrow will be brilliant! I don't know who he was, but he's strong. Strong enough to wipe out the weak for me...Maybe even that damned leader of ours...Then I will rule..." Night soon turned to day. The group awoke with groans and grunts because of their rude awakening the night before. They still forced themselves from their comfortable beds and equipped themselves with whatever they brought and began on their way out. They looked out onto the streets, the corpses were gone. They began to walked down the barren road, no one was out. It was once so busy yesterday, but now seemed to be a ghost town. A light breeze swept through between the buildings. The sun was out and the day seemed perfect. The group was perplexed by the missing citizens. They continued their walk onto they came across a troop of soldiers. "Halt! Please return to your homes. The city is under military lock down." Said one of the men. "Yes, so please return back-" The soldier stopped when he spotted Shaku. He turned to the other solider. "Isn't that the King?" Asked the man. "I do believe so, but I remember from seeing him somewhere else." Said the other man. He dug his hands into his pocket, and pulled out a furled piece of paper. He slowly unfolded it, and examined the picture carefully. "They couldn't get a good sketch of the man, but the hat is the same as the man who was wanted." He glanced back at Shaku. "He's even wearing the same noble clothing as the picture depicted!" "What picture?" Asked Moku, stepped forward. "Halt!" Shouted the man, stepping back. He raised his gun at Moku, as did the other. "Everyone back up and put your hands on the wall. King Shaku, you are wanted by the military are treason and homicide." "King!?" The group all whipped around and stared at Shaku. He sighed and scratched his head. "I suppose I forgot you tell you that didn't I?" He rubbed his head and looked at the soldiers."Lower your guns. Now." Demanded Shaku with a stern voice. "He have strict orders to-" "The King's demand overrides any order! Now lower your guns!" The two glanced at each other, but still held the guns out. Both guns were not pointed at Shaku, the arms of the men were shaking. They pulled the trigger. Shaku flinched, because he didn't have time to summon his Soul Weapon, and his own magic without it couldn't stop the bullet. He opened his eyes, Benkei held his sword out to defend Shaku. The bullet failed to penetrate the thick steel of the blade. The other bullet missed, because of the shaking hands of the soldier. "Well, well." Shaku seemed impressed. "If the entire group is like this, I wouldn't be surprised if you all obtain a Soul Weapon and Ability." Shaku held out his hand and the orb manifested, then the staff grew out from the orb. Before he could attack, both men's hands were gone, and the guns fell to the ground. Soyen was between them, her bloody sickles drawn. They both shouted in terror and ran off. Moku tossed his spear straight into the heart of one of the soldiers. The soldier dropped dead from the attack. The other ran, and ignored the death of his comrade. Encho picked up one of the guns, and pointed it at the man. She fired it and it went straight through his head. "The gun is easier then magic." Said Encho jokingly. Shaku stared at them all with new respect. "I'm surprised none of you have the Soul Weapons or Abilities now." Said Shaku. "Well, lets continue. We should take out the big leader before we leave. That may return the city to it's former glory." The walked forward, unaware of the army the awaited them.

--Deleted the last updated because I realized the thing was going too fast. XD Don't want to rush the story, if anyone's reading XD--
A man sat on the roof of a nearby building. He grinned as he watched the group bravely march towards their own death. "What fools...Challenge an army." The man rubbed his head, and sighed. He stood up and brushed himself off. "The King really is hopeless without his trusted guard." The man ran across the tops of the buildings, jumping from one to the next. He had a battle axe lying on his shoulder, he loosely gripped the handle. His noble clothing was bright in color, but now looked somewhat dirty, with stains of mud. "To believe I found you while taking a break from searching..." He stopped on a building near the camps. He jumped and sliced the wall of Baso's camp. He pried the wall open, to see Baso sitting, and watching in shock. "Hello there." "What are you doing to my wall!?" Shouted Baso, jumping from his seat. He looked around for a weapon, but none were around. "I've come to get you to tell the captain of military affairs that the group approaching them are merely harmless bystanders that were only acting in self-defense." Said the man, he still had the grin. His battle axe's blade was undamaged from slicing through steel. He raised his axe into the air, and slashed it down into the group. A small crater was left behind from the impact. "Don't make me have to drag you there." Baso was gritting his teeth, he still looked for a weapon. He was beginning to sweat, his eye's moved rapidly across the room. He appeared to be looking for an exit now. "Do I have to drag you there?" Asked the man, sounding disappointed. He sighed, and groaned. "I was hoping for this to be resolve easily." He began to walk forward, his axe still raised in the air. "Stop! I'm the general! General Baso! I order you to stop and drop the weapon!" Cried Baso, as he backed up. He soon found himself up against a wall. "Your orders don't affect me one bit." Said the man. "Orders from a lowly general don't apply to the captain guard of the Masayoshi, Captain Hoshin." General Baso's eyes widened at the name, and he was now trembling. "So you finally remember who I am. Now come with me." With those words, Hoshin ran forward and kicked Baso in the stomach. He fell to his knees in pain, and held his stomach. "b*****d! Damn you!" Shouted Baso. "It was only a kick." Said Hoshin with a small laugh. He was now enjoying himself. "I was sure the great general of Shagaku could withstand more then that." Hoshin then reached down and grabbed Baso's shirt collar, and pulled him to his feet. "I'll say it again, come with me and explain everything to your leader before more blood is shed." "You that worried about that King of yours?!" Shouted Baso, as he tried to free himself. "The King? No, I'm worried about your troops. He has trouble...holding back." Hoshin then walked out from the room, dragging Baso behind him. The walked towards the army, which was about a quarter of a mile away. Hoshin was still tired from the long run to the cabin. He could only walk towards the large army. "There's so many of them." Said Benkei, looking out at the army. "Yes, and we have to fight them!?" Encho was worried, and still held the gun. "I'm sure we can explain everything to them." Said Moku. "I doubt they'd listen." Said Soyen with a slight sigh. "Well, King Shaku, what plan do you have?" "We will solve this with words." Said Shaku, his voice was calm. "There's no need for this." "I hope so, I don't think we can handle that many at once." Said Moku. "Don't worry, now you must sheath all your weapons. We must appear harmless." The group all glanced at eachother, then nodded. They sheathed their weapons, and let their hands hang at their sides. "Stop where you are!" Shouted a woman, standing infront of the army. "You are to explain yourself immediately, or die." "What is their to explain?" Asked Shaku, he kept walking forward. "Stop!" Shouted the woman, but then she realized who he was. "King Shaku! Why are you here!?" "Just passing by, with a small group of travelers, and was rudely attacked by some of your troops." Said Shaku, he shrugged. "Lies! You were the ones who attacked first." Shouted the woman. "Now who told you that?" Asked Shaku. "My trusted general Baso." Said the woman, she now began to walk forward. The army behind her was silent and still. They waited for a signal. "I believe he was at the scene. He should of told you about the officer's behavior." The woman was silent. Some of the troops in the army seemed nervous. Baso was still being dragged by Hoshin. "We're almost there. It seems they beat us to it!" Hoshin tightly gripped Baso's shirt and held him into the air. He tossed him forward, and he landed by the woman's feet. She stopped and looked down in surprised. "What are you doing?!" Shouted the woman. Baso was now pushing himself up and brushing off the dirt. He stood tall with confidence, trying to look as if he was never on the ground. He said nothing, he didn't know what to say. "Ah, it's you." Said Shaku, as he continued to walk. He didn't notice Hoshin yet, as he stood on the sidelines. "Tell her what happened. I'd prefer to avoid this conflict." The woman was now staring at Baso. "Well?" "Well, captain Kame..." Baso paused, he turned to the army. Where he saw some of his loyal troops, awaiting his command. They ruined it all! This city is to be mine! I planned it all so well... He gulped and looked back up at the woman, who was tapping her foot impatiently. He glanced again at his loyal troops, who made up half the army. I don't know how many of my own men are still alive. The rebellion....ruined... I can't let it all go to waste. I have had enough... He began to snicker to himself, surprising Kame. "Attack!" Shouted Baso loudly at the army. His troops shouted a battle cry and began to slash and hack at other troops. Some were using guns aswell. Kame was shocked. "What are you doing!? Stop!" Shouted Kame, as her troops began to fight back. "For a year now, I've been gathering those who wished to end your rule. I will become to new military leader!" Shouted Baso with a wicked laugh. "And I will kill all witnesses." He called to one of his troops, and a gun was tossed to him. "Goodbye, Kame." The gun suddenly began to melt in his hands. He tossed it to the side, his hand was burning. Before he had time to looking at the cause of it, the handle of a gun hammered his neck. He fell over, losing conscious. Kame angry withdrew her gun, and then pointed it at the army who were fighting eachother. "Stop this now!" Ordered Kame, but the feud continued. Shaku was now standing beside her. "This has became quiet a disaster." Said Shaku. "Of course, and the army is now fighting among themselves. All because of this fool!" Shouted Kame, pointing down at Baso. "I'm surprised you haven't entered the battle to try and stop it. Isn't that the captain's job?" "I refuse to kill my own troops. Even if they have turned against us, they still belong to Shagaku." The two watched the side still fight. A ball of fire suddenly appeared above the army, then exploded. They all stopped and fell back. They shouted as they ran to evade the falling fire. "What are you doing?!" Shouted Kame. "Breaking the battle up." The group still watched from behind, they had no idea what was going on. All they knew was that Shaku is a King and that they had to follow his orders of being harmless. "Can't believe we had to watching that." Said Soyen. "I can't believe a battle just broke out like that." Benkei was gripping the hilt of his blade tightly. "Where the hell is the justice in this?! What happened to make Baso and his group attacked their own side?!" "Benkei, you still don't know?" Moku shook his head with disbelief. "It is all out of greed for power, it will make them do these kind of things." "Even kill someone who they have worked with for years?" "...Greed is a powerful thing." Said Moku, and Benkei opened his mouth, but closed it. He couldn't disagree with that. They now watched the army scatter as they ran from the falling flames. The rebels were soon arrested by the other officers and Kame after the incident. Kame sat and mumbled words to herself. "Am I a bad leader?" Asked Kame to Shaku, who was standing over here. "No leader can protect their troops from this. Lust for power has corrupted their minds." Said Shaku, trying to encourage her. Benkei and the rest were now there. Kame looked up to Benkei, who's face was serious. "Captain Kame, I've heard you met someone last week." Said Benkei. "Yes, an odd women, what of it?" Asked Kame. She has calmed herself again, trying to appear strong infront of the guests. "Please, tell me. Did she wear an emblem with a pitch black flame?" Asked Benkei. Kame scratched her head. "I think so." "Tell me where she is, or where she's going. Now." "What authority do you have to demand something from me!?" Shouted Kame, feeling insulted. "We have every right to demand this." Said Soyen, stepping in. "We may not belong to royalty but we seek a common enemy. She belonged to the enemy." "What enemy do we both share?" "The Dark Lord. You met one of his generals. Tell me, what did you discuss and where is she going?"

Kame soon explained what has been discussed with the woman. She said the woman wanted an alliance, but because of the lack of info, Kame rejected the offer. The woman only sighed and left. "She was wearing a strange mask, and bulking clothing, only her voice revealed she was female." Said Kame. "I see. So she didn't tell you where she was going?" "No." "Well, that's the end of that then." Said Shaku, joining the conversation. "Benkei, she just watched her own troops kill eachother before her very eyes, no more questions." "You think I'm weak minded?!" Snapped Kame. "I can handle watching that." "Then why were you too shocked to enter the fray and stop them?" To this, Kame didn't have a response. "Now rest up, we'll be taking our leave." "So we're going to the Kingdom next right?" Asked Benkei to Shaku, he decided to stop questioning Kame. "Yes, and once there, I will teach you all about Soul Weapons and Abilities. You will need them for your upcoming battle, especially if your targeting the Dark Lord himself." Said Shaku, he looked towards the exit of the city. Shagaku was once a great city, that opposed violence, and had a strong enough military to end any conflict without many casualties. Now this great city is stained with blood from their own military. "Let's get going." The group agreed and began on their way out. Hoshin then ran over to greet the group. "Hoshin? What are you doing here?" asked Shaku. The man had a big smile on his face. "My King! Where have you been this last month? I was sent to search for you!" "Oh, you need not worry any longer then, I'm returning to the Kingdom." "But where did you go?" "I went to train." Said Shaku, sorrow filled his voice. "Oh, no one believes its your fault for what happened, King Shaku." Said Hoshin. "I couldn't save her, I wasn't strong enough. I went to train, and I'm quite pleased with the result. I will no longer let any blood be spilled in my Kingdom." "What happened?" Asked Benkei, curious about what they were talking about. Shaku and Hoshin glanced at eachother, Shaku nodded. "Two months ago, the Kingdom was under attack by a strange clan. They came wielding weapons that sliced through ours like paper. We fought as best we could, and the King ended up saving most of the Kingdom..." Hoshin trailed off. "Then why so sad? Who did he need to protect?" "He couldn't save his daughter." Said Hoshin. The group was silent, none knew how to respond to that. Kame also listened to it, she only looked down. "Let's get going then." Said Shaku. Kame turned towards them as they left. She didn't feel like letting them leave on a sad comment. "King Shaku, let us meet again!" "Yes, hopefully not on the battlefield." Said Shaku, not turning to see her. The group then left the city. Kame slumped back down and sighed with relief. "What a sad story." Said a strange woman, her body was completely covered. She bore the black flame emblem. She was laughing under her mask. "Hello Kimu." Said Kame, looking up at the woman. "So what did you tell the group?" "I told them that you came and left, without telling me where you were going." "Excellent, and what about Baso?" "They believed he was the enemy and acted out of greed. His cowardly and suspicious behavior helped add to it." "Good, Master will be pleased with this. He will honor his promise of keeping your city safe and grant you the power to smash any enemy before you." "Thank you." Said Kame. "You will be sent something within the next week, it will be a gem of magnificent power. It should absorb into by touching it, you'll feel the power then." The woman known as Kimu then vanished with a slight chuckle.

Hoshin and Shaku talked about political and military affairs as they walked. The group listened to them with bored expressions. They were still miles from the kingdom, and they were hungry. "So when we eating?" Asked Benkei. "Once we get to the kingdom, there will be a feast waiting." Said Hoshin, he sounded excited for it. He licked his lips at the thought of it. "So be patient." "Ahhhhhh...." Benkei mumbled and groaned, disappointed that he had to wait. Soyen giggled when she saw how Benkei was acting like a kid. "Just five miles now Benkei, you can wait." Said Moku, he was embarrassed by Benkei's behavior. They again tried in silence, while listening to the boring discussions Hoshin and Shaku shared. As the group walked, plans were being made by the Dark Lord himself. A tall man sat on a pitch black throne chair inside a large room. The wall tiles all depicted a weapon, the floor was smooth and gray. The man himself looked ordinary, he looked to be in his mid-thirties, and carried no weapon. He had dark long hair that went down to his shoulders. He wore royal clothing, showing he might of belonged to nobility. It was all gray and black, a black flame outlined in red was on his chest and back. His eyes looked soulless, he sat and stared into space. A knock then came at the large throne doors at the end of the room. The knock was seven times, some kind of emotion could be seen in his eyes now. "Come in." Demanded the Dark Lord in a calm yet stern voice. The doors slowly opened inward, a dim light came in with a woman. She wore a mask and was covered up, no piece of skin could be seen. "Hello Kimu." Said the Dark Lord, he now sat upright, and awaited her response. "My Lord, I came bearing news of Shagaku." Said Kimu, as she kneeled down infront of the Dark Lord. "The leader of the city, Kame, has excepted our terms." "Excellent. We will need allies in the upcoming war." Said the Dark Lord, his voice now seemed cheerful. "Upcoming war?" Kimu seemed puzzled by the words. "I thought we seeked peace?" "We do, but sometimes peace cannot be obtained through words. Conflict will rise, and sometimes conflict can only be solved by war." "I see, then the world will be united under one marvelous leader! The Dark Lord will reign!" "Yes, and you shall rule by my side as second in command, and as the Queen." Said the Dark Lord. "I'd be honored." Answered Kimu, she was blushing under her mask. "Also, we must see to it that the other generals are trained and prepared." Said the Dark Lord, returning to their business. "I will make sure they are ready." "Good. We will need them, that damned King Shaku will most likely make a move against us. We need to be ready, and we must also watch for them." "Will they appear?" "Yes, I'm quite sure of it. It may just be a three-way war, but we will be victorious." "Yes, My Lord." Kimu now stood and bowed to him. She then walked to the exit, and closed the doors behind her as she left. Kimu stood outside in the hall, people and creatures all of sizes and shapes roamed the halls. They carried weapons, and wore the same emblem as Kimu and the Dark Lord. They talked and laughed, they had no idea of the upcoming war they will fight and die in. The group was now less then a mile away from the kingdom, and they were all eager to see it. Shaku seemed nervous, he forgot that he didn't mention his one month training trip to his wife. He was prepared for the worse when they arrived. "My Lady! Hoshin has returned with the King! King Shaku is here!" Shouted a nearby knight who was watching out a window. "Really?" The Queen looked to be the same age as Shaku, but more energetic. She wore a noble dress, and carried a large book at her side. She had long blonde hair that hung down her back. She ran to the window, and had a long smile on her face at the sight of Shaku. "Prepare a feast at once! Have all servants and knights who aren't helping to prepare the feast assemble in the main hall to greet them!" "Yes!" The knight quickly bolted from the room. He shouted and cheered while giving the orders he received from the Queen. She looked out and still smiled. She began to hum to herself as she moved across her room to the door. The room was large and spacious, a large bed was at one side of the room, at the other was cabinets and clothing. She ran to the door, which was outlined in gems, she quickly ran from her room and down the stairs. "We're here." Said Hoshin, stopping before they entered. "Then lets proceed." Said Shaku. "So we can eat....." Mumbled Benkei while rubbing his stomach. "So Shaku, when are you going to train us?" Asked Moku. "Patience." Said Shaku. "What kind of things do you have at the kingdom? This castle looks great!" Shouted Encho. She looked up at the gleaming tapestry that hung from the tall walls of the kingdom. "I know!" Soyen was just as excited, they both were eager to see the inside. The door then slowly opened, the Queen stood there with a long smile on her face. "Hello-" She ran out and punched Shaku before he could finish his sentence. He flew back over to the group and landed behind them. He rubbed his face as he got up. "You deserved that for leaving without telling me." Said the Queen, sticking out her tongue at him.

The group was still shocked by the sudden punch. Shaku and the Queen, who's name is Saru, greeted eachother and embraced. She dragged him into the kingdom, leaving the group and Hoshin outside. "Should we follow them?" Asked Benkei. "I guess so." Said Moku. Soyen and Encho were already inside and amazed by the decorations. Sculptures of mythical creatures lined the hall. Glowing gems floated above the halls, giving off light. The group walked down the hall, Hoshin leading them, and found themselves at the kitchen. Chefs ran back and forth, gathering and preparing food. Servants ran in and out of the kitchen, bring food out and in. The group wondered how they could work so fast, but didn't say anything because they were too busy being hypnotized by the aroma of the food. Hoshin only shook his head as he pulled them from the kitchen, back into the hall. "So is there anywhere you want to see in this grand kingdom of Shaku and Saru?" Asked Hoshin, he now treated them as honored guests. "Well, not really, but there's something I want to learn." Said Benkei, stepping infront of the ground. "Yes?" "Do you know about Soul Weapons and Abilities?" Asked Benkei. "Of course, what do you think this axe is?" Said Hoshin, he sounded confident. He held out his axe and it dissolved in the air, then reformed. "I just prefer to carry it, you can never be too cautious." Said Hoshin. "Then will you teach us?" Asked Benkei, the rest of the group seemed eager to learn aswell. "Shaku seems busy, so maybe you can show us?" Hoshin scratched his head, "after the feast." Said Hoshin. "Then I will show you, because it will be time consuming, and you cannot stop while under the severe training, or your Burning Will will break." "Break?" "It's hard to explain." Said Hoshin with a sigh. "Be prepared though." The group nodded. Hoshin then scratched his head and pointed forward. "Well, lets heard to the dining hall, where the feast should be almost done." The group ran to the feast, they haven't eaten in days. They were forced to wait until all the knights and high class citizens sat themselves, then they went in. Shaku and Saru were both at the head of the table, and were already eating. The group sat themselves down somewhere in the middle and began to eat. They scarfed down everything they got their hands on. Some people couldn't eat while watching them. Others watched and chanted, wondering who would be able to eat the most. The feast soon became a contest, and after a hour, Moku was the winner. He polished off half the table, he burped and waddled away from the table. Benkei seemed upset he didn't win, but didn't care, he was focused on the Soul training.

"Is it confirmed?" Asked a strange man, as he leaned against a wall. He wore loose clothing, and had long hair. He wore a band of cloth around his head, covering his eyes. A scepter was gripped tightly in his hand. "Yes." Said another man, standing beside him. His eyes were gone, and replaced with strange orbs. "Kimu was seen in Shagaku, where she offered an alliance to Kame." "Do you know if Kame accepted?" "She has, or so my eyes tell me." "I trust those orbs in your socket more then any magic, I suppose I'll believe that then. A large scale war will be taking place soon." Said the man with the loose clothing, he then pushed himself from the wall, and walked to a tree. He rested his hand on the trunk, and the tree began to glow. The tree sank into the ground, creating a hole. He jumped down, and was followed by the other man he was talking with. They both landed in a brightly lit area, under ground. They walked down the hall, which had men and woman march and talk. Several doors lined the halls, mysterious glowing was coming out from underneath the door. They ignored it, and continued on. They soon found themselves at a door at the end of the hall. "General Daiju asking permission to enter, My Queen." Shouted the man through the door. "You may enter." The man with the loose clothing entered, leaving the other outside. The door slowly closed behind him, the other man sighed with relief and sat against a wall. "What do you have to report, Daiju?" Asked the female voice. "It would seem that General Kimu of Darkness was seen in Shagaku and has created an alliance with Shagaku." Said Daiju, his head was bowed. "We can't let him have just large alliances." Said the voice, this time there was anger in the words. "He must be dealt with, immediately." "How, My Lady? He's powerful!" "Justice always prevails, I can no doubt whoever I send will be victorious. Being Akumas grants us that justice, leaving all who stand before us merely twigs, no matter how powerful they may seem." "Yes, who will you send?" Asked Daiju. "I will send a small team of five. You will lead it, the others will be Joshu, Mokusen, Gasan, and Tesshu. "Tesshu?" "Yes, he recently joined us, and has shown enough skill to be included in this mission." "When shall we depart?" "Tomorrow, and on your way there, please try to gather alliances. A war is eminent, whether it's with him, or anyone else." "Yes, My Lady." Daiju then left, he closed the door behind him. The room was still too dark, but the sounds of footsteps could be heard. "I cannot wait, this world will be free soon. I will reign supreme, and pass all laws so they are equal and just." She chuckled to herself. "The time will come soon."

Benkei and the rest were now resting after their large meal. Benkei was eager to learn more about the training, so he wasn't able to relax aswell as the others. Shaku and Hoshin came in through the small, royal door int the room the group was waiting in. Soyen looked around, "where's Saru? She said she wanted to show me something after the feast." "She likes to take walks after meals through the forest." Said Shaku. "Yes, and that can wait." Said Hoshin. "I assume your all ready?" "Soul Weapons!" Exclaimed Benkei, unable to stay calm any longer. "Correct, now please follow us to the forest." Said Shaku, he and Hoshin then departed from the room. The group soon followed, they walked down the halls. The statues seemed to be glowing slightly now, but no attention was paid to it. They were now outside, trees towered over them all. They then stopped in the middle of the woods. "So what kind of training is it?" Asked Encho. "It's a training that will most likely take all night, and you may die from it." Said Shaku. "Do you all wish to continue?" The group was silent. The mention of death seemed to put a halt to Benkei's eagerness. They all looked to eachother, Benkei then had a smirk on his face. He nodded, Moku sighed, and nodded. Soyen smiled at Benkei's confidence, and nodded aswell. Encho shrugged and nodded. "We are willing to take the training." Said Benkei. "Then if you die, it will not be on my head." Said Shaku, he held out his hand. An orb then manifested in the air, and landed in the palm of his hand. Hoshin did the same, except it was his battle axe. The orb was glowing brightly. The group was silent and were waiting for what was going to happen. With a strange screeching noise, they all found themselves in different areas. Their bodies all fell to the ground, they weren't breathing. The Soul forms of the group were now wondering the new place they were at. Shaku and Hoshin sat down and waited. "Where am I?" Asked Benkei to himself. Infront of him stood a knight with glowing armor. A long sword was in it's hand. It wore a samurai banner on it's back, and a roman shield on his other arm. "I am the master of swordsmanship." Said the strange knight. "Kill me if you can." It then raced forward, Benkei drew his sword that hung at his side. The two blades clashed, and the knight bashed it's shield into Benkei's side, and he fell over. He managed to get back up and evade a sword that flew down from the sky at him. The knight held it's sword up now, and several more blades fell down from the sky, and swirled around it's own blade. It pointed the blades at Benkei, and all the blades were released at him. Benkei held a firm stance, and swung his blade at the flying swords. He blocked two, but three others stabbed into his stomach. He coughed up blood as he fell to his knees. The knight slowly walked over to Benkei, Benkei was still on his knees. He pulled out each blade from his stomach, he was clenching in pain. He tossed the blades to the side, he slowly pushed himself up. The knight was standing infront of him now, and the knight slashed it's sword down at Benkei. He rolled to the side, and picked up his original sword. Benkei charged in at the knight, but the knight took an odd stance where it's sword out infront of it, and put one foot behind the other. The stance was Kendo. It slashed it's sword down, it sliced into Benkei's shoulder. It failed to completely go through, and left a gash. Benkei couldn't move his arm, and gripped his shoulder in pain. He still held his sword, he wobbled but refused to fall. The knight only stared, and a small laugh came from under it's helmet. "Yes...Show me your Burning Will!" Shouted the knight. "Show me a powerful will that will never succumb!" Benkei wobbled, and held his sword straight out, pointing towards the knight. Benkei then ran in, his arm hung lifelessly at his side. His sword was still pointed straight out. The knight only stood and watched. Benkei lunged his sword forward. The blade shattered. Benkei refused to stop, knowing his blade was broken, he ran in with a hilt and a small edge. The knight nodded, and held out it's hand. "Victory is yours." Said the knight in a different tone. "But I haven't killed you." "This was a test of determination and will power. You showed both, and I will agree to give you power." "...Then why'd you say 'kill me if you can'?" "Who knows." Said the knight with a shrug. It then began to spin, and became a giant blade. Benkei walked over to it slowly, his arm still lifeless, he reached out and grabbed the hilt of the giant sword. His own blade's hilt was gone. He held the sword into the air, and grinned. "Victory!!!" Shouted Benkei. Benkei then woke up in the woods, it was night. He saw he was alone. "Did they not make it!?" Benkei quickly stood up, but almost fell over from the pain. Every part of his body was aching, he still fought on, and walked through the woods towards the kingdom. Before he could reach the door, Soyen slammed it open, smacking him back. He wobbled back and rubbed his head. "Soyen?" "Benkei!" Soyen was smiling now as she jumped at him and hugged him. "Eh?" "Your alive!" Exclaimed Soyen. "Yah, but where's everyone else?" Asked Benkei. "They'll all inside waiting for you, it took us the whole night." "Whole night? Is this the next day then?" Asked Benkei. Soyen shook her head. "You were out for a week." Said Soyen. "What?!" Benkei was startled and ran into the room, Soyen scratched her head and ran after him. The entire group was there, all were bored. "Looks like you finally finished." Said Moku as he sat on a chair. "Everyone...finished before me!?" "It's a sign of a weak will." Said Shaku. "I'm hoping your will is now Burning with strength?" Benkei grinned as he gripped the hilt of his blade tightly. "Yep, and I'm ready to continue our quest! Let's kill the Dark Lord!"

The sun was slowly rising over the trees. Daiju and his group were scouting around, preparing for their journey to kill the Dark Lord. "General Daiju, we're ready." Said a man known as Joshu. Replacing his eyes were small orbs, they shined brightly from the sun. "Good. We will depart now then." Daiju then began to walked through the woods, he was followed by his group. Before they crossed a dirt path, they heard talking. The group hidden behind trees and nearby bushes. "My Soul Weapon is stronger!" Boasted Benkei. "It took you a week to get your Soul Weapon, we were training the entire time! Compared to us now, your the weakest!" Laughed Moku. "You mean to trained to CATCH up to me." Said Benkei. "Why don't we settle this on the next enemy we face?" Asked Encho, she was beginning to get annoyed with the argument. "The next enemy to appear will be the target, and you two must see who does the most damage on him or her." "Haha, too easy." Said Benkei. "I accept the challenge." Said Moku confidently. The group then walked in silence, Benkei and Moku were both searching for someone to fight. Daiju's group stayed hidden, Joshu was watching them through a tree. "There appear to be five." Said Joshu to Daiju. Daiju looked over to the group but only saw four."Joshu, I only see four." Said Daiju. "Are those crystal eyes really as accurate as they say?" Asked a woman by the name of Gasan. "These eyes have never lied, behind the talkative four, there is another. He's tall and wheres an odd cloak around his neck." "Are there any emblems?" Asked Daiju. "It's the emblem of two swords clashing, with a spear in the middle of the blades." "I've never heard of that group, do you think he wishes to harm to group?" "If he did, he would of done it by now. He also carries no weapon." "Odd, should we question him? "Are we really wasting time debating over this?" Asked another known as Mokusen. "We should be going to the Dark Lord, we have a mission." "Patience, you know our groups policy. To protect the peace and justice of the land, and this man could be trying to assassinate this group." "What if the group is bad? And the man is good?" Asked Tesshu. "This group is pure, Our Queen has told us that, and she speaks but the truth." "How does she know that?" "She said she heard stories of them from someone close to her." "All this whispering is giving me a headache!" Shouted Mokusen. Benkei's group all looked over to Daiju's group, who were still trying to hide. "Are they the enemy?" Asked Benkei. "How am I suppose to know?" Mumbled Moku. "We come in peace!" Exclaimed Daiju, running infront of him with his arms in the air. "In peace?" "Yes, we noticed you have a fifth member following you, and wished to tell you of that." "A fifth member?" The entire group looked behind them and saw no one. The invisible figure remained calm. "He's following you, and wears a strange cloak with two swords and a spear." Said Joshu as he came out from the bushes. The invisible man then seemed shocked, and disappeared. "And now he's gone." "Ok...?" Benkei group was confused, and decided to ignore the event and continue on their quests. "May I ask what your goal is?" Asked Daiju. "Hmm?" "What are you planning to do? We were told of what happened in Shagaku, you seem to have good intentions, what is it you plan to do?" Benkei grinned, "we're going to kill the Dark Lord." Daiju's group appeared somewhat shocked. "You are? And how do you plan to do that?" "We've trained, and obtained something powerful." Said Moku. "There is no need to worry, we'll crush him." "You can always use more power." Said Daiju. "May we accompany you?" "What?! Why travel with them?!" Shouted Mokusen. "They will just slow us down." "Slow you down? We're moving at a fast pace here!" Shouted Encho. "I planned it all!" Soyen just watched, she was curious about the invisible figure the other group spoke of. The emblem they described, it sounded so familiar.
