This is a working title! Don't shoot me for it's lack of creativity.
Also, this is an unfinished project. However, rather than making you wait, I'm gonna' put it up piece by piece. Or suit by suit as the case may be.
Mission Under Cover Color will become active in this thread. Thanks to Sickly Psycho for the idea!
The (rough) Table of Contents
Post I : Quick guide to the Elements (as well as some of koala's rambling) Post II : The Wands Post III : The Cups Posts IV and V: Pentacles and Swords. (order undecided) Posts VI and VII : There may or may not be more than one post for this. But I'm gonna' take the liberty and reserve it just in case. Post VII : Basic Care of Your Tarot Deck!
Also, I'd love to hear comments on this as my work progresses. You may notice a change in my style of writing as the guide progresses. This is because I am a writer (aside from this) and my style changes frequently. Just don't complain if you like one style and I can't stick with it.
Each post may be quite lengthy, but that really can't be avoided. It's going to be a fairly in-depth guide.
Also, feel free to ask me any questions!

On to the guide!
A quick guide on the elements:
Each astrological sign (or star sign) has a corresponding element based on the traits of the sign. Here are the signs are their matching elements:
Aries-Fire Taurus-Earth Gemini-Air Cancer-Water Leo-Fire Virgo-Earth Libra-Air Scorpio-Water Sagittarius-Fire Capricorn-Earth Aquarius-Air Pisces-Water
Later I plan to do an explanation of why each sign and the element are related and what cards represent the sign. As well as what each card says about its sign.

-- Post II : The Wands (also called rods or clubs ) --
The Ace of Wands: Aces represent beginning, the start of something new; and wands signify animation and enterprise. When the twains meet it means something of creative nature for the Querent (the person for whom the reading is being done)
Divinatory meaning: The beginning of a new project, the start of a family (marriage or a new baby); perhaps the beginning of a journey or and adventure.
Reversed: Canceling of endeavor, journey deferred or delayed; false starts and clouded joy.
Two of Wands: Roses (depicted in the card) signify desire mixed with lilies (also depicted) represent pure thought. The two of wands suggests balance.
Divinatory meaning: Boldness and courage, often in starting something new; influence over another. Kindness and giving-yet in an arrogant manner.
Reversed: Restlessness, fear, physical suffering; any good beginnings turn against the Querent.
Three of Wands: The card often suggests completion or something realized.
Divinatory meaning: Realization of hope, newly found strength or power, wealth. Partnership; help may be offered by a successful merchant.
Reversed: Beware of help that is offered, money or wealth may be lost; disappointment.
Four of Wands: This card often means something perfected or improved (like work or a project).
Divinatory meaning: Rest after long labor, perfected work; peace and prosperity. Perhaps romance and the coming of a marriage.
Reversed: The cards meaning stays similar but the fullness of said achievements will not be such as if the card were to be right-side-up.
Five of wands: Fives in each suit usually mean something negative, so we can assume a serious argument or disagreement may occur. While wands suggest energy, the five portrays this energy as being used in a negative manner.
Divinatory Meaning: Competition; obstacles; perhaps a lawsuit. A violent conflict or foolishness; in the over all battle of life: Boldness can be used to change things for the better.
Reversed: A victory after accomplishing a difficult goal; generosity: perhaps a new business opportunity.
Six of wands:
Divinatory Meaning: Accomplishment; happiness gained through work. Friends assist; Success through business as well as in the arts and sciences.
Reversed: An enemy likely to be a threat in success; rewards are delayed; jealousy of the successful.
Seven of wands:
Divinatory Meaning: Success through bravery; certain success.
Reversed: Stupidity; dishonesty; a possible threat; be cautious of indecision.
Eight of wands: The eight of wands suggests rest and energy spent.
Divinatory Meaning: Great haste and hope, advancement made too quickly. Hurried communications; a journey made by air; messages of love sent.
Reversed: Jealousy; interruption; delay in dealings of the heart or in business.
Nine of Wands: The nine of wands suggests that strength has been used once before but is at the ready to be used once again.
Divinatory Meaning: The pause in a fight preparedness, and strength in reserve. There will be an eventual victory but steady amounts of strength must be applied. Power and health are also represented.
Reversed: Weakness and sickness; unhappiness or misery. There will be large obstacles to be overcome.
Ten of Wands: The ten of wands suggests that there will be a task that seems almost impossible but with a little hope and strength the task will be accomplished. However, the end result may be something negative.
Divinatory Meaning: Force and strength negatively applied to achieve goals. The heart will be filled with pain that must be over come; a problem will soon be solved.
Reserved: If a lawsuit is waiting there will be some loss. Separation, emigration, intrigues
-The Wands Court Cards- These cards are used as a way of portraying the Querent, but will also be used in the reading. There are four court cards in each suit. Only one card can be chosen to represent the Querent. The card should be chosen based on: age, physical appearance and gender; and loosely based upon the Querent's element.
The Page of Wands: Pages are often called princesses and should often be used to represent a youth or maiden. The card depicts pyramids, a symbol of the earth in its materialistic portion. Fire is also represented in this card (as it is with the entire suit of wands) This card should be chosen for a young boy or girl with a fair complexion, blonde hair and blue or hazel eyes.
Divinatory Meaning: Courage, beauty, desire for power. Enthusiasm, a messenger; if the card comes up in a reading for a man: there will be a favorable testimony in store.
Reversed: If this comes up for a woman: he may break your heart. Cruel; instability; forceful; announcement of bad news.
The Knight of Wands: The card depicts a knight clad in armor with three pyramids in the background; his mantle is decorated with salamanders biting their tails. Salamanders are said to be able to go through flames without being burned (wands represent fire). This card should be chosen for a young man with blonde hair and blue or hazel eyes.
Divinatory Meaning: Change of residency, emigration, a hasty move. Knights in a spread may also mean the coming and going of a matter. The knight of wands can also represent a lover or good friend. He can be either generous or brutal; the chances of either of these are equal; as the knight is hasty in what he does.
Reversed: The would-be lover turns jealous and can create a conflict. Lack of energy and frustration may also occur.
The Queen of Wands: The card depicts a queen upon her throne; in her left hand is a sunflower, in her right a staff. The sunflower represents nature and the queen's control over it. The arms of her throne are lion's heads also suggesting her control over nature and animals. The three pyramids can be seen again in a tapestry behind her. Choose this for a slightly older woman with blonde hair and blue or hazel eyes.
Divinatory Meaning: If the card is used in a reading for a woman it can stand for the great power to attract that which she desires and there will be fruitfulness in mind and body; practicality with money will be taken and sound business judgments will be made. If the card does not represent a woman it can stand for a love of home and family; kindness and selflessness as well as success in undertakings.
Reversed: When upside down, the Queen of Wands represents many problems and hardships. If the Querent is married; he or she could be unfaithful. Domineering and obstinate behavior could be a possibility. There is also a possibility of turning against something or someone very suddenly.
The King of Wands A king, depicted as noble upon his throne. Lions and salamanders can be found upon his throne. All of the symbols (including the salamanders) represent the element of fire. A wand, as should be expected, can be found. This card should be chosen for a man with blonde hair and blue or hazel eyes.
Divinatory Meaning: Passionate and handsome, the king his agile, both in mind and in body. Honesty, friendliness and passion from this person are to be expected. The card may also suggest a good marriage or a heritage that was not previously expected.
Reversed: Prejudices may occur as well as intolerant and ill-natured behavior. The card may also suggest a high principled fault or ruthlessness and severity.

Post VIII : Basic Care for Your Tarot Deck
A. Buying the Deck Please keep in mind that you shouldn't go with what you can afford. Or what looks nice. When you're in the store as the clerk or whoever works there if you can touch the deck. Usually they don't care if you hold the box, and many times they'll let you open it and touch the cards. If the deck doesn't "feel" right, don't buy it. Cards will work best if they fit you and your aura.
B. First Using the Deck When you first buy your deck you should make sure and pick up some incense if you don't already have some. Also, scents like strawberry should be avoided, earth toned scents are much better. Use something like patchouli. Another thing you might want to pick up when buying your deck is a silk scarf (if you have an old scarf it will do.)
When you first bring your deck home you should take it out. Find somewhere quiet and light a stick of incense. After lighting the incense take a seat and take each card and run in through the smoke from the incense breifly. What you're doing is basically like cleaning the card. Removing any negative things that could have been picked up while the card was in the store. This process is called smudging and should be done every once in a while.
C. Storing the Deck and Basic Procedures If you have let anyone touch the deck you should run them through your hands a few times, or smudge them if the person is undesirable. You can also put the deck under your pillow the night before you expect to do a reading. It will help the cards to "soak up" your energy.
After a reading, you should make sure to wash your hands. Just another way of clensing. Make sure you have re-wrapped the cards in the scarf. It's good to have a place to keep all of your tarot items. Small boxes are a good idea but you can also leave them in a drawer of clothing. It will keep your energy with the cards as well as store them.

My mom gave it to me whee ) and I think I might do a few other guides. The book just has piles upon piles of information that I feel I need to share! The other book I used for reference is good too, but it's a bit more in depth and specifically for use with the deck my mom has (which I dislike tremendously). Her deck just feels ... uncomfortable to me. I prefer my own decks. But that should be expected.

Fallenfae_13 I bought this travel sized kit thingie...Its got a deck of tarot cards, a guide book, and a carrying case thing...Tarot's ok...kinda confusing at times though...lol Really? You think it' confusing? You just gotta' be able to intrepret it. If what the book says isn't quite applicable you just gotta' think about what it's saying and make it work for the Querent's question.
