I'm dedicating this fic to avari because the summary is the prompt that she gave me which birthed this fic – along with several other fics that I had been reading at the time which were all just... really depressing. We'll leave it at that. In any case, the fics and her inspired me and thus this idea was born. Say what you will about Twilight, I still liked the characters enough to think that they had potential... it's just that Meyer can't write worth a damn so everything kind of came out being rather shitty, to put it lightly.
I know that the summary doesn't give away much of the plot, but hey, maybe I'll update it as it goes. All you need to know is that it's, well, very depressing. Oh, and I'm also projecting that it's not going to be a terribly long fic either; judging by the length of the parts I've written so far and how they're falling into place it won't be a long fic – maybe about ten or so parts long.
