A forest full of dense trees. A great place for hunting if you need some food. The Starry River runs through it, coming from the Waterfall.

As she crept through the tall dry brush, Asoko planned her hunt out very carefully. She wasn't to make too much sound and she was to take her time. There were only so many chances she and her family could get before migration season so they couldn't waste their hunting time mearly scaring their prey. So she crept on.

While Kalla is walking along, she sees Asoko crouching in the grass. She sees that she is hunting, and decides to just continue on her way. All the families are hunting, as it is almost winter time. Soon she gets to the river. She finds the shallow-est place to cross during the season, and wades across.

The water was freezing, but not quite cold enough to numb you. There was a sudden movment in the pushes over to the right. Kalla sharpley turned her head, and stared intently at the spot. 'Rabbit.' She thought. Kalla hated to kill things, but, everyone needed food at this time, and rabbit is one of the best things. She had to plan this out carefully. She crouched down low, and started crawling on her belly. She was only a foot away from the rabbit when she attacked. *** Soon she was carrying a dead rabbit in her mouth back to the den.

Asoko continues her hunt hoping against hope that she will find something suitable to hunt to get them by for the winter. As the brush begins to clear, Asoko realizes that she is entering the Twilight Forest, and sure enough, the trees become thick all around her making the area dense and a bit dark. Her hopes rose when she saw something stirring in the brush up ahead but they fell back down when she saw it was only her best friend Kalla, out enjoying a walk through the woods and possibly heading back to the den.

She saw Asoko walking towards her. It did not look like she was hunting, so Kalla walked up besider her. She set the rabit down near her feet. "Hello Asoko! Looking for things to hunt are we? I found a rabbit over by the river. Just walk along the bank, over to the right. You should find one there! I should go put this in the den before someone else takes it. I'll be back though!" She said cheerfully.

Asoko was glad to see that Kalla was walking towards her with what appeared to be a dead rabbit in her mouth. Maybe she knows where to hunt! Asoko thought excitedly to herself. Asoko chated with Kalla for a while and found that Kalla had been hunting near the river. So as Kalla headed back to the den, Asoko headed toward the river to try her luck there.
She silently walked to the river bank and found a large bush to hide under. Asoko waited and remained alert; readying herself for anything that might pass by. And sure enough, just as Kalla had told her, a large jack-rabbit bounded by her and the chase was on. As Asoko began to catch up to the fleeing creature, she held her breath and braced herself for her least favorite part of the hunt: the killing.
Asoko streaked through the forest, across the river and towards the Hikari Mountains, with the limp body of the rabbit clenched tightly between her teeth.

Kalla slowed down as she got to the forest. She didn't want to scare anything that Asoko, or anyone else, was hunting. She saw a streak of white go by, very close to where she had gotten her rabbit. Kalla was about to call out to Asoko, but Kalla saw that she was hunting. 'I'll just wait here I suppose.' She thought, as she layed down in the shade of a tall tree.

Akela prowled through the forest. Any passing human would have thought her to be a shadow, she was so silent and well hidden. Her violet eyes darted to the right as she saw a small deer hurrying through the trees. Ah, worried about me, are you, she thought silently as her lips curled into a smile she wore only when hunting. She ran behind the deer until she was alongside it. Then she sprang up, wrapped her forelegs around it, and sank her teeth into its neck, bringing it down. Akela was pleased. The last deer she had chased had gotten away. This one, luckily for her, had no such luck. Looking at the deer, she realized that she was going to need help if she wanted to get it back to the den. She left it and bounded back to the den, hoping no one else would find it and claim it as their own before she returned with help.
