Setting: The medieval kingdom of Alestan (AH-leh-stan), ruled by the Alestan family for generations

*Note: A series of islands exists just off the coast of Alestan; however, to get there you'll need to unearth the old boat that lies just east of the shoreline.
Summary: An infamous clan of traveling thieves had planned the perfect crime in the seaside city of Alestan... Or so they thought. As punishment for attempted robbery of the king, the group is sentenced to a month's worth of work under the crown. Little do they know that this strange city is full of mysteries and secrets, just waiting to be discovered. Governed by a greedy king, talk of mutiny is never silenced. Meanwhile, villagers engage in personal affairs involving love, loss, and secret bargains. Not to mention the strange, human-like footprints appearing in the Forest's underbrush or the luminescent orbs that seem to haunt the town at night. Just what does Fate have up her sleeve for the thieves of Alestan and the strong-willed villagers who reside there?
Rules: The roleplay should start with the first royal task that is to be completed by the thieves, and what they encounter in the town, which, keep in mind, they have only just stumbled upon. Mythical creatures and/or magic are permitted in this story and are, in fact, encouraged. There are lots of character opportunities so you may create your own profiles. Be sure to include where they live and if they own one of the local businesses. You can basically take this plot anywhere you want (eg romance, war, etc). Just be sure to keep it PG-13. whee
