The harsh wind blew across a barren wasteland. Empty helmets littered the decaying land. Several trees loomed over the ground, the branches were twisted and odd. A small squad of soldiers were marching down the wasteland. They wore green and blue body suits. They wore no helmets, except for a mask the covered their mouths. In their hands were guns that were pitch black, and green, and blue streaks lined the guns. In the small group of five were three men, and two woman. All of them seemed to be in their twenties. On their suits were badges, all seemed to show they were all high ranking generals. Infront of the group, there was a man with a tattered cape that hung over his shoulders. His badge seemed to shine more then the others, and looked a bit different. He had short black hair. He was going a little faster then the rest of the group, and frequently stopped to check around.
Behind him, the four were in a horizontal line. At the far right was a man by the name of Benkei. He had black hair that almost went down to his eyes, he looked straight ahead as he moved, not even glancing from side to side. He appeared to be in deep thought. Beside him was a woman with long dark hair, she looked from side to side often, making sure to spot any sudden movement. She was known as Soyen. Next to her was the other man, who had odd short, green hair. His name was Shaku, and he only looked down as he followed the one who was leading them. Finally, beside him was a woman by the name of Enma. She looked forward with confidence, and her gun seemed to glow brighter then the others because of it. She had blue hair that hung down to her shoulders. The group traveled down the wasteland with speed and caution, the leader of the group glanced over at each empty helmet that was lying on the ground. He looked as if he was counting them. They still traveled in silence, and looked as if they were expecting something. A small rusting noise came from one of the nearby trees they passed. The entire group stopped at the sound of the noise and all turned to point their guns at the tree. They all waited with their guns risen. "Sir?"
"Yes, Shaku?" Asked the leader, though he didn't take his eyes off the tree.
"I feel a slight vibration in the ground." Said Shaku.
"I don't feel anything." Said the leader.
"Me neither." Added Benkei.
"Then what am I feeling?" Asked Shaku.
"Who knows, but don't let it distract you from whatever's hiding in the tree."
Shaku nodded and awaited for the creature to emerge. The pitch black blur shot out from the tree, and landed behind them. The leader was the first to notice, and quickly spun around. The creature had a red left eye and silver right eye. It had long arms with long black claws. It had big pointed ears that twitched. It rose it's right claw and slashed at the leader. The man evaded by jumping back. Soyen was already facing the creature, and fired a shot from the gun. The blast was dark blue, and pierced into the creature's shoulder. With a screech, it stepped back and was waving it's long arms to try and kill it's prey. Another blast came from Benkei's gun, and the shot fired through the creature's stomache. It howled and came forward to attack. The leader was infront again and held the gun at the head of the creature. It stopped and stood still, it seemed to have enough intelligence to know the gun's power. With a loud high-pitch noise, a beam fired from the gun. The creature fell over to it's side. The body was still twitching and moving, Enma ran over to it, and examined the body. "It doesn't seem to be fully grown." Reported Enma.
"I would hate to go against an adult one." Said Benkei jokingly. No one respond and waited for Enma to finish examining. She rejoined the group and with a nod, they began on their way.
"It looks like we're here." Said the leader with a sigh of relief. About half a mile away, there was a military base camp. A hovercraft hovered above the ground infront of one of the camps, and the tent seemed to glow slightly. The leader gulped at the sight, and prepared for the meeting.

Inside the large tent, a man in his fifties sat and dismantled his gun. He placed pieces of it on his desk. He had a mustache, and wore regular clothing. A set of battlements was hanging from the wall. From the salvaged gun, he pulled out a small, cylinder gem. It let off a light glow when he touched it. He placed it down on the desk, then pushed the rest of the pieces of the gun to the end of his desk. He began to dig through the drawers on the desk, and eventually pulled out a chisel. It picked the gem back up and began to chisel the sides. A boy sat in a wooden chair at the end of the tent, he watched the man slowly refine the gem, making it smoother and it seemed to glow more because of it. The boy's hair hang over his face, and he was very skinny. His clothing was tattered and torn, his eyes were gray, and showed no emotion in them. They looked soulless as the boy watched. The boy didn't say a word, and the man didn't seem to care, they both sat in silence. The flap of the tent was soon unzipped and opened, disturbing the peaceful silence. The leader of the small group walked in, and kneeled infront of the man. "What do you have to report?" Asked the man, as he placed his chisel and gem to the side.
"We have returned, and managed to kill some of the creatures." Said the leader.
"Excellent Banzo." Said the man, the leader nodded. "Now, onto the next question. How many?" The man's voice was now grim and displayed sorrow.
The leader, Banzo, looked down and pondered the question. "I counted over two hundred helmets." Said Banzo.
"What a horrible war." Said the man. "Please describe the helmets."
"They were old, appeared to be over one hundred years old maybe." The man nodded at this. "And...they were all the same. The same markings on each, each showed a crest of a bird, soaring into the sun."
"...Those were the only helmets?"
"Yes."
"Then either the other side cleaned up their bodies, or the other side didn't have any deaths."
"What kind of military force could pull that off?!" Banzo was now standing.
"We don't know, but whoever it is, they may still be out there. You will be cautious on the rest of your missions, an enemy that appears to be immortal may be waiting for you."
"We will venture with extreme care, and report anything to you." Said Banzo, bowing.
"Good, and I also have another task." Said the man.
"Another?"
The man looked over to the boy, who sat patiently in his chair. "We found him wandering the battleground, alone."
"He survived the war?"
"It was seem so, but he hasn't talked about it yet. I would like you and your squad to help him out and watch over him for the time being."
"Yes sir." Banzo looked over to the boy, and gave a warm smile. "Come with me, please."
The boy glanced over to the man, who nodded, and the boy got up and followed Banzo from the tent.
The group was sitting on a log, a small fire was built near them. "Who's the kid?" Asked Shaku.
"He's so small!" Laughed Soyen.
"We do not know his name yet, but he will be staying with us for the time being. Please take care of him while I finish something." Said Banzo.
"Finish something? What else is there to do? We found the helmets and killed some beasts, was there something else?" Benkei didn't like being left out of a mission.
"No, just something I need to do personally. I'll be back tomorrow." Banzo turned away and walked back in the direction where they came.
"I wonder what he has to do." Said Enma.
"I think I know." Said Soyen. "I heard him talk about it before, this planet is his home planet."
"This wasteland?"
"It used to be a beautiful world, lavished with green. Then a horrible thing happened, war."
Benkei stood up. "Then when we finish this conquest of ours, we'll unite everyone and rid this world of war." Said Benkei.
Soyen smiled and nodded. "Yes."
"So does anyone know when we head back to the main base?" Asked Shaku.
"We finished our mission, so hopefully soon." Said Benkei.
Banzo soon came to a stop and stood at the entrance of a small village. Houses were destroyed, the ground was kicked up, and the gate was close to crumbling down. Banzo walked in and stopped at a house. He looked at the door. It read, 33390, the number of his house. Banzo nodded to himself and opened the door, memories rushed into his head as with every step he took. He sat in the middle of the wooden floor, and crossed his legs. He looked down and sat in silence. He remembered his childhood, which was during the beginning of the war. He remembered everyone saying it would be quick, that the war would last only a month. He remembered being dragged away from his house by the military, his parents looked down. He was drafted because of his powerful energy and strength. His father shouted out something, but Banzo couldn't remember. He sat in silence, too caught up in his memories, he failed to notice sounds outside his house. Snarling and growling, the sound of something large landing.
