Alice sat in the Atrium, playing the guitar.
She quietly sang "I'm With You" by Avil Lavigne.
She hadn't seen David since last year, and was hoping to see him again.
She had also learned to play the gitar over the summer, which was really exciting, to her anyway.

David walked into the Atrium not noticing anyone, missing Alice with a passion, due to the fact he'd been away all summer. He looked over to the bench and saw her, her back to him, and playing her guitar, singing. David smiled and walked up quietly, gently placing his hands over her eyes. "Guess who?"

David smiled, "Good guess." He placed his book bag next to him and sat on the bench next to Alice. "So...I haven't seen you all summer, how've you been?"

Alice sighed "Not so good...
You know how my dad's abusive, when he's pissed off...
Well, before Alex moved out, like literally right before he walked out the door,
my dad didn't want him to leave...
Since my dad has a really short temper, and Alex decided to tip him off, he went PSYCHO on him
He was literally in the hospital for a week
And I, being me, hid in my room whenever my dad was home, learning to play the guitar...
Enough about my crappy summer, how've you been?"

David didn't know what to say at first, he'd never met anyone with the same problem he had. His and Nikki's own father had turned to alcohol after their mother had left when he was younger. "I...wow. I'm sorry you had to go through that. I, um...I actually know what you're going through, my dad...he's...he's an alcoholic. A heavy one at that." He sighed. "He's not really abusive unless he drinks way too much. I try and protect Nikki when he does, but he's actually hit her a few times..." David looked down and his voice traveled. What am I doing?! Why am I telling the girl I possibly very much love my crappy home life? "I, um...I'm sorry, you asked about my summer. It was fun. Nikki and I went to stay with our grandparents. I know what you're thinking, it probably wasn't fun. But our grandparents are awesome. My grandfather took me hunting with him on their property, and then all four of us went camping. But I did miss yo-- my friends while I was gone." David smiled nervously.
