Relationships take a lot more than just love or emotion. There has to be certain aspects to a relationship in order to make it work. (The other person gets along with your family, they share your faith, etc.) Religion (similar to politics) can become an issue for you and your girlfriend because faith is such a big aspect of a Christian's life. It could bring fights and struggle for you and your significant other. I have, however, seen relationships work where both partners shared different faiths, but they're few and far between. The bible tells us to not be yolked with the nonbelievers. It's a lot easier to become a lukewarm Christian when we don't have a solid rock (our significant other, in this case) to lean upon.
There are exceptions. I have been a witness to successful relationships where one partner was able to convert their nonbeliever partner. My relationship is a prime example. My boyfriend is a Christian and I was an Atheist when we first started dating. I ended up developing my love for God not because of my boyfriend, but because I grew a strong desire to become closer to Him. But that's also a special case. More often than not, relationships don't work out. However, there are exceptions.

Hello soul. Wishboxx is correct. There have been cases of each type of relationship. Without knowing anything about your situation, I'll make some suggestions. I don't believe that you can't date a non-Christian, but you have to realize that someday it may come down to choosing your beliefs as a Christian or your girlfriend. Just take it slow. Don't make promises to her that would make you break your promises to God. If she asks you to choose between her and God, I would be wary of her. If she loves you as much as you love her then she wouldn't ask you to choose. Also, you could tell her that if you didn't have God in your life you wouldn't be the person that she sees and cares about. Since you "love her to death" talk to God about her. Pray for her. You may be in her life to show her God's love. Even if you do not end up winning her over, you may be planting the seed that will lead her to the Lord. I hope this helps. ^.^

Try to invite Christianity into her life. I always say "There is room for everyone in heaven" Just because she isnt Chrisian it doesnt mean you cant love her. Ill keep you both in my prayers biggrin

Actually, all other posts are wrong. The bible says we should be equally yoked. And since you are christian and she is not, u r both not equally yoked. For example, 2 Corinthians 6:14-Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? http://www.openbible.info/topics/being_equally_yokedHere is a site you can use.
