Silver stood on an empty avenue, snow painting the deserted landscape white and frigid. It was early in the morning, and the air was crisp. Normally, the weather was dreary, dark and well, blizzardous. But today, the sun shined its loving rays down on the forgotten city of Snowpoint and the clouds proffered a gentle, icy glitter instead of the usual gifts of snow and hail. She closed her eyes, the crystals falling on her bare skin. This was diamond dust, a yearly phenomenon that took place in early January. The sun made the crystals sparkle like glitter...
...a dream?
Silver woke up. Her beloved Glaceon lay sleeping soundly at her feet, as he always did. The young woman smiled thinking fondly of her hometown, Snowpoint City. Out of the way, yes. Small, yes. Cold, yes. But there was one thing that just didn't happen anywhere else.
Diamond dust...she had gone through the top Pokémon coordinating circuits in the world, but nothing, absolutely nothing could compare to the annual magic that graced the skies of Snowpoint on that one day in January. It touched her heart like nothing else could.
Silver shuddered as the war with Team Nightwalker haunted her thoughts. If they succeeded in their goals...she was unlikely to ever see the diamond dust flutter from the skies ever again. No more ethereal, sun-kissed glitter. No more anything...
Silver clutched her blanket tightly, her knuckles turning white.
She could never allow it.
