The Island
Somewhere out in the wide oceans of the world, an oddly-shaped island sits looming above the sky-blue waves. The centre of the island is raised and clustered with buildings and life; a small range of rocky hills lie to the north-east, three tall cliffs tower over the bays in the south and many winding slopes leading down to the vast ocean in the north-west. It is said that from above, the island appears to be shaped after an ancient pokemon with numerous tails.
Areas
1. Battle Frontier (Under Construction)
One of the three cliffs stretching to the south. Previously an unused expanse of grass known as Sunset Bluff, the area is currently off limits whilst the Battle Frontier is being built.
2. Rocky Bay
An alcoved bay, stretching between South Point and the Battle Frontier worksite; it is covered entirely in smooth, granite-like rocks. Small pools are dotted across the shoreline, laden with murky seaweed and the occasional Krabby.
3. Lake Horizon
A somewhat sizeable lake created by the river flowing from the Highlands. The surface of Lake Horizon is almost always completely still and silent. A small stream, crossable via a small ornate bridge, runs from the south of it into the sea.
4. South Point
The southernmost cliff of the island, and also the tallest. The rock that makes up South Point is a bright, chalky white. Being the highest southern area in terms of latitude, it is often blighted by strong winds, even on calm days.
5. Coral Beach
A sandy beach running between South Point and Sunrise Bluff; the cliffs at either side protect it from the wind and waves, and as such, it is a warm and peaceful place.
6. Deserted Scrublands
A rather folorn and dusty expanse of land at the foot of the Highlands. On one side, a small bridge leads from it across the river, and on the other, a thin dirt path leads to a cave opening in the rock.
7. Highlands
A stretch of craggy peaks and hills that are rocky and difficult to climb. A labyrinth of caves in the south of the Highlands lead from the Deserted Scrublands to Sunrise Bluff.
8. Sunrise Bluff
The third of the southern cliffs. It can only be reached by passing through a series of dark caves. Sunrise Bluff is named after the beautiful sunrises that can be viewed from the tip of the cliff as a reward for journeying there.
9. Echo Lagoon
A mountain lake in a basin of the Highlands. Despite its name, Echo Lagoon is not in fact a lagoon and is instead filled with rainwater. It is surrounded by waterfalls, the lowest of which run into the river, which itself flows into Lake Horizon and eventually into the ocean.
10. Mt. Glacier
The tallest peak of the island, Mt. Glacier is actually a dead volcano that is constantly covered in snow and ice; it is extremely dangerous to traverse and is rarely visited. It is rumoured that a legendary pokemon scatters the summit with snow and keeps it from thawing.
11. Game Corner (Under Construction)
A section of the PWF Village currently off limits whilst construction is being carried out. It is planned to become a Game Corner.
12. PWF Village
The main area of the PWF, and the centre of the island. It is a settlement large enough to be called a small city, yet is traditionally referred to by its inhabitants and visitors as a village; it is compromised of an array of ever-changing buildings, plazas and battle arenas. Most of the events and tournaments happen here, and it is populated by trainers from all over the world.
13. Hall Of Legends
A large, stately building that serves both as the Headquarters of the PWF League and the meeting place of many trainers. It is well known as the favourite place of many to hang out and relax, having a consistently welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Recently, the Battle Square connected to the Hall was destroyed in a great battle.
14. Verdant Woods
A huge expanse of woodland, teeming with wild flowers and home to hundreds of species of wild pokemon. Several of the roads through Verdant Woods lead to various areas of the PWF League, as well as Victory Path.
15. Grass Descent
A curving slope of land leading down towards the ocean; it is covered in a lush and overgrown jungle, thick with draping lianas and vines. The Grass Gym can be found at the end of the descent.
16. Ghost Descent
A curving slope of land leading down towards the ocean; it is dotted with spindly trees and unmarked graves, and an ominous mist hangs in the air. The Ghost Gym can be found at the very edge of the ocean.
17. Ice Descent
A curving slope of land leading down towards the ocean; its terrain is unknown. The Ice Gym can be found at the very edge of the ocean.
18. Electric Descent
A curving slope of land leading down towards the ocean; its terrain is unknown. The Electric Gym can be found at the very edge of the ocean.
19. Water Descent
A curving slope of land leading down towards the ocean; it is smooth with sand and the only sound is that of the waves crashing endlessly. The Water Gym can be found at the very edge of the ocean.
20. Bug Descent
A curving slope of land leading down towards the ocean; it is dappled with a pleasant and beautiful wood, the leaves quietly rustling in the gentle breeze. The Bug Gym can be found at the very edge of the ocean.
21. Fire Descent
A curving slope of land leading down towards the ocean; it is smothered in a dense, ash-grey desert, and must be crossed via underground chambers filled with bubbling magma rivers. The Fire Gym can be found at the very edge of the ocean.
22. Steel Descent
A curving slope of land leading down towards the ocean; it is covered by a seemingly unstable collection of boulders, and must be crossed via a maze in a steel mine that stretches deep within the earth and glitters with natural ores. The Steel Gym can be found at the very edge of the ocean.
23. Victory Path
A manmade mountain that was built as a test of character, strength and skill for potential challengers by the founders of the PWF. Inside, it is filled with dizzy labyrinths and strong wild pokemon. It must be passed through to reach the Lair Of Champions.
24. Lair Of Champions
A gigantic building made of onyx, smooth and glinting in the sunlight. It is the home to the Elite Four and the PWF Champion, who wait with patience for anyone brave enough to challenge their power.
