There is a HUGE problem. Many people recycle yes no? Well recycling is great but you may also notice what you are recycling. Many schools are told to RECYCLE! RECYCLE! RECYCLE! Now I'm not saying recycing is bad or what not but you must send on the message that it's not just recycling. Recycling can conquer Redusing and Reusing. First of all, reusing a piece of paper that is usable instead of throwing it away is the best way. That reduces the amount of time needed to recycle all those chunks of paper that we could reuse couldn't it? When we reduce. Make sure that you take what you need and not take too much or too many. That helps us reduce right? Trigger the Facts. Pass the messages. Teach everyone else!

A REASON we must keep reducing reusing and recycling?
WEll, look at the trees! THey are alive too! How would you feel if you were cut down and compressed into paper! Horrible! Absolutely horrible! That means helping trees and there ways to success!
ALL THE GARBAGE! It goes to those horrible dumpers! They burn it all up, and that pollutes the atmosphere. WHich is not good at all. THey also bury it into the soil, letting it decomose, sadly the garbage dudes aren't scientists and they don't know that glass and plastic don't decompose/don't decompose in 5000 years! Not that is TRUE.
So here's a TIP.
Look in your recycling bin before you take it out. Think what could we still use? Something we can use? ANything? Make a scrap paper bin in your house or school and you can help save the world! Doesn't that help the world. We can't let trees die off. WE need THEM!

Holy cow! You just made a huge point there! I didn't even realize that the three R's go in a certain order...that will help me a lot! You're right Hope, not a lot of people try and reuse things and assume it'll help save the planet just to recycle. And recycling is great, but we can take it one step further! Say you just threw a glass jar into the recycling bin. Then the next day you need to find a container for your leftover lunch of casserole and can't! You go to the store and buy brand new plastic containers for that dang leftover casserole..and you know what? That glass jar you threw into the recycling bin would have made the perfect storage container!!! You recycled one glass jar, but you ended up buying a pack of five plastic containers because of it :[[[ How sad!!! So remember, all of your actions will have a consequence. Find the action that will have the most POSITIVES in the outcome!

Umm....also think before you throw?? biggrin WEll yes. but recycling isn't the best. THe Reducing and REusing and Recycling must be balanced. :] Well, maybe recycling is the best for someone who has a busy lifestyle. A college student would most likely just toss something into the recycling instead of sitting and thinking about what the item could be reused for, which is a little time consuming. BUT! It's all about practice and sticking into your subconscious the 3R's so that you're able to quickly determine whether you should reuse or recycle. Someone may sit for five minutes and think of how to reuse a glass jar...and they come up with the solution that they can use it to store leftover food. The next time they get a glass jar they know right away what they can use it for. Get it? It just takes a little bit to drill the 3R's into the subconscious. It's how willing the person is to do that that makes all the difference.

That would be a great idea! In schools and businesses...they are the places who use the most resources. If we were to convince at least one college, highschool, or elementary school to start reducing, buying greener products (like 100% recycled paper!), and recycling then it would make a HUGE difference

They made a campaign for it! ;D also at my middle school! ;D
