I'll use Revan to challenge any character in the guild... save Caiyo's because we've already talked the subject to death.

I'd like to challenge Revan with Arlen. It sounds fun.

(Good luck to him. Bring Anary just in case.)

Revan stood idly down in the basin of the great maw, his black wings curled in about his form like an ominous feathered cape. The folds of his black trench draped below the tips of his wings, unswaying in the gentle wind that wafted through the canyon. Maxwell's one visible eye, the right one, remained closed. The left eye remained hidden behind a red glass-looking monocle.

Suddenly, the wings opened up and out, revealing his torso. His attire was relatively simple. Under the trench was a gray beater shirt. HIs pants were simply black jeans, and his shoes were steel soled boots, akin to that of Angeal's. Maxwell's weapons were also in plain view. He wore his Slinger's, two weapons reminiscent to Leon's own gunblade, but much fashioned to be held in a single hand. They rested plainly in their holsters. At his left also was slung a weapon that, by the guard and shape of the metal sheath, was obviously a rapier.

Slowly, the Eryien opened his eye, glancing upon the the young boy, revealing the golden brown eye. He closed his eye again, drawing in a breath to sigh it out. "Why have you come for me?" he began. "This is no place for a child to dwell."

(I figured that it sounded like the kind of numb-skull thing he'd do. Besides, I want to give him more fun. And of course she's coming, too. When are they ever apart?)

Arlen stared at Revan, his blue eyes cool. "I heard you were here, so I wanted to see who you were." He grinned. "You look like a fighter. And I'm fifteen. I can hardly be called a 'child' anymore." Arlen pointed his sword's point into the ground and leaned forward on the hilt, smirking. Anaryn was not far behind him, looking worried.

"Arlen, what are you doing?" she whispered, looking at Revan and back again at her brother.

Arlen shrugged. "I thought it might be fun."

Anaryn blinked, then made a small sound of alarm. "Arlen!" Arlen just rolled his eyes.

Revan eyed Arlen with a small amount of contempt for his lust for fighting. It reminded him of himself when he was about that age. It was a bad mindset to fall into as it often lead him to make very unwise choices. The look softened, though as he was reminded on how much he learned having his feathers ruffled by his older sister. "If your that eager," he began drawing one of his slingers. "I'll show you how fun I can be." He drew the second slinger , holding both weapons out ti his side. He turned his left shoulder to face Arlen, and showed he was ready.

Kere, Maxwell's red-eyed raven, descended down upon Maxwell's right shoulder, looking curiously at the young boy. "Since when do you fight shrimp, Maxwell?" the bird taunted, bearing it's beak in a arrogant smirk. Maxwell's eyes paid the feather familiar no mind. Kere chuckled and pushed off flapping towards the two children. With one mighty flap, he shot between them at supersonic speed, creating a horrible back draft that blew at them.

When the draft cleared, Anaryn would have noticed the bird had nestled itself on her shoulder. He liked being on the bench for the opposing team. To him, it made it all that much funnier.

(I was saying that because the same is true for Revan and Kere.)

(Ah. Makes sense.)

Arlen grinned. "Alright!" He drew his sword from the ground, facing Revan. Before he could begin the first move, the raven that had been on Revan's shoulder flapped towards them, creating a draft that almost swept the twins away. When the dust cleared, Anaryn found the raven on her shoulder. Arlen narrowed his eyes at the bird. "What're you doing on my sister's shoulder? Go back to your owner. Shoo!" Arlen made shooing motions with his arms, trying to get the bird away from his sister. He didn't know if the bird had any diseases....or rabies, or strange, weirdo powers that'll hurt his little sister. He just didn't want the rat with wings around his sister in general.

The bird lifted up it's talon and caught Alren's wrist, displaying its strength, by holding it in place. "First off, kid, I wash daily and nightly with the finest soaps munnies can buy. Second all, don't treat me like I'm some dirty animal." Kere let go of Alren's arm and renestled on Anaryn's shoulder. "And to answer ya, kid, Your cute little sister her has a nice comfy shoulder. If she wants me to leave, I'll leave."

"Kere," Maxwell called, a hint of annoyance in his voice.

"And Thirdly, Me and Maxwell are over 2000 years each. You could be 30 for all I care. I'd still call you kid. Now are you gonna fight Maxwell or worry about me and my freshly manicured feet, or are you gonna fight Revan? Seriously, he could have killed you by now. If you were a target, he would have. Pay attention!"

"Kere!" came the call again.

"What!" Kere called back, looking at Maxwell who had leveled the barrel of the weapon with his head. "OKay okay okay! Geez! You don't have to take my head of EVERY TIME I have a little fun do you?"

"I probably should." Revan lowered his head and focused back on Arlen.

(Now let's see if you can prompt Revan to use his Rapier.)

Arlen's eyes widened when the bird talked. "Ah! The rat talks!" He grabbed his arm back once he was released. He stared at it wide-eyed for a moment before turning back to Revan, his eye carefully on the raven. Before Revan could blink, Arlen turned to a tendril of shadow. He spiraled around the man and temporarily blocking his sight. He turned to himself again and brought his sword through to snatch one of his slingers out of his hands.

(I'm gonna have Anaryn and Arlen's new abilities that they discovered they had when they went to their home world. Their mother's kind's powers.)

Revan remained calm. Having dealt with Kaio and Shadow and many others with powers like this. The moment Arlen, reformed, he did something that most winged figured often did not, and Maxwell couldn't understand for the life of him why they didn't. He stuck his wing out to push Arlen away. His wings span was long enough and fast enough to intercept the boy before he could swing his arm. At the same time, Revan opted to let go of the weapon before the two connected saving his hand from being involuntarily cut. If the his wing connected, he'd kneel down and grab the weapon before it hit the dirt. If not, he'd angle his other hand behind his back and shoot Arlen's sword with a shot from his gun. Maxwell's bullet were very special. They worked like regular bullets, accept had fins that contoured to the barrel, meaning the bullet flew faster and harder than a regular bullet. If the second latter situation happened, Arlen would lily be tossed aside from the impact, with was the equivalent of getting hit by an anti-tank rifle at point blank range.

"Whoa!" Arlen tumbled over to the ground, surprised. He moved before Revan's bullet fired. Oh, crap. I bet Anaryn's thinking 'I told you so' right now! He rolled and aimed his sword at Revan's wing, figuring that that was an advantage he hadn't. Taking out a wing might give him a little bit of an upper hand.

Again, Revan choose to travel a route less often preferred by his winged counter parts. He drove his wing onto Arlen's blade purposely, making sure to move it so that the wing was stabbed and not slashed. The tall winged man cringed at the painful sensation, but was not deterred in the least. He stepped in towards Arlen, grabbing the boy's arm as it moved through the air, and then moved to plant his foot squarely in the boy's chest.

Maxwell was no Angeal, nor was he as strong as Thorn, or even Clair, but that kick would at least knock the wind out of the boy. And if Arlen was foolish enough to keep hold of the sword, Revan would lean down and slam him to the ground, his foot still planted on the boy's chest. Harsh or not, Maxwell wasn't going to kill Arlen, simply make sure he knew he was fighting someone with a great deal of skill. More so than even the older of the two Kurolucifer brothers(Zeke).

Arlen stared at the wing, wondering briefly why Revan was not moving his wing out of the way before he had the wind knocked out of him. He found himself on the ground, looking up at Revan's form as it stood over him. He still held his sword, of course. It was his dad's. There was no way. Arlen turned to shadow, escaping Revan's foot, which was planted on his chest. He reformed a little ways away from him, his blue eyes narrowed seriously.

Revan knelt down and picked up his fallen weapon, given of the same air of calm that he had started the fight with. His eye was unblinking. It had not closed sense the opening of the fight, meaning there wasn't a single moment, not even when Arlen had "blinded him" with his shadow form, that he wasn't watching the boy like a hawk. Revan was making notes. Study reaction time and speed, calculating ever action in his mind. Honestly, not one move done to Arlen had been voluntary. His reaction were all natural. Instinct. Meaning he hadn't given much of his own fighting style away. Not yet anyways. But Arlen... Revan now had an idea about what his powers were, and was expanding on them as the two faced each other. This universe seemed to teeter on forces of darkness and light more so than any other he had come across. This boy had powers of shadow, and thus must have had a build on top of darkness.

"Kere," Revan called, sheathing the left weapon and unhinging the rapier from his belt. "I don't want to kill the boy," he stated, taking the rapier and its scabbard and throwing it into the air where it would fall near Anaryn. The bird launched itself into the air, grabbing the weapon in it's talon, twirled it between the claws and then stuck it into the ground next to the girl, before using it as his new perch. All the while, Revan's eyes never left Arlen. Redrawing his left gun, he held the barrel's in arlen's general direction, but they were obviously not pointed in a manner that would hit him. Or where they?

Maxwell pulled the triggers on both weapons, and they fired outward. Where the bullets to travel unhindered, they would have flown off and away and would have missed the boy entirely. That wasn't the case. The two finned bullets collided midair and their fins caught to each other. The impact change both their course so that they would head directly towards Arlen. Again, the bullets were powerful, strong enough to punch through a tanks hull like butter, but now it had twice the momentum. The last thing Arlen would want to do is get hit by a single bullet. Even getting scrapped by one would be a tragic event. The fins would act like carvers and tear at whatever they hit. That meant skin, and anything beneath it.

Arlen raised an eyebrow at Revan's statement on not wanting to kill him. "Well, I'm glad you don't want to kill me. I'm not gonna kill you either, if that's what you think I'm here for." Arlen's eyes widened when the rapier was sent to where the raven was, too close to his sister. "Hey, watch where you send that thing!! That's my little sister you almost hit!" Anaryn's eyes were just wide with alarm.

Arlen saw the incoming bullets fly towards him again. He disappeared in a wisp of shadow once again, out of the line of sight of the bullets. He reformed again, once more out of reach for Revan.

Revan followed the wisp as it traveled. When Arlen reformed, he shock his head. "You misunderstood. That sword absorbs energy of all types and traps it. Imagine what would happen if you touched that sword in your shadow form." The winged man open up his guns chamber, the cylinders dropping from the weapons altogether. With no more cylinder, the weapon was much much lighter, though sans bullets. That wouldn't be much of a problem seeing as Arlen opted to change into a wisp ever time he pulled the trigger. That simply mean Revan needed to fight him close up for a while.

"Now get ready." Revan kicked off the ground, moving with great speed. His body would be a blur to an untrained eye. But Alren wasn't untrained now was he? Still, Maxwell, dashed right up to the boy, and just as he looked like he was going to draw back and swing, he leapt over Arlen, and flapped his might wings down, shooting him skyward so fast that his wings let loose a horrible torrent of air that would keep Arlen pinned to the ground. The dash was a feint. One that would be accompanied with the horrific sonic boom. Yes, Revan had moved so fast that he had created a sonic boom. If not momentarily crush Arlen, the sound would also leave the boy disoriented as Revan looped in the air and came back around. This time he would strike, swinging in an upward X manner. It was his momentum and strength vs Arlen's strength. It was more in Arlen's interest to move or get cut and or thrown back by the force.

(last post for tonight.... probably.)
