Recommend music that not many people know about. And, if possible, point us to a site where we can take a listen. Do you all know about William Shatner's recording efforts? I'm so in love with the song "Common People". I've read conflicting reports, though, as to whether the singer on the track is Joe Jackson or Ben Folds. This is from back in 2004, by the way.

Got that. Good version. rofl It got a fair bit of airplay here in australia on the "youf" radio station Triple J. Not that I'm bagging the J's out. It's the only station I listen to. I don't think the backing vocals are by Ben Folds... *googles around* Looks like it was Joe Jackson. blaugh What a great song.

Along the same lines is the band Squeeze (same general time frame, similar style).

Cool, I'll have to look out for it as well. i Suppose I should say some unknown sort of music. I think I posted some in the original music thread *Edit* Yeah I did, Tweaker and Cornelius. They're probablly the most unheard of two, but then again when I'm talking to someone about what music I like, chances are they always have no idea who I'm talking about, even when it comes to something like Nine Inch Nails, or even Blur.

Well, this may not exactly qualify as music, but they are sound recordings so I'm putting them here. Follow the link to Peter Sellers recordings of Beatles songs: http://petersellers.org/sounds.html?NF=1

I recently joined myspace (have I mentioned that yet?) and found an interesting musician on there (well, I've found more than one, but this is the one I'm going to share). Check him out here: http://www.myspace.com/sevensidedstarzEdit: I forgot to mention that he's also fond of using Fisher Price instruments on some of his recordings and he's very cute (musically speaking).

I've always thought the idea of using unconventional instruments, such as fisher price toys, quite interesting. The soundtrack to American Mc'Gee's Alice, is a prime example. Tweaker's use of old dilapidated toys gives real ambience to the game and is just plain eerie. Also an early Regurgitator song, used one of those toy keyboards, which sounds pretty damn cool. Always thought I'd like to give it a try

I was always quite fond of Big Fumb Face, myself. Wes Borland's (the only talented member of Limp Shitkit) side project. Originally called Goatslayer, they changed it to Big Dumb face for some weird reason. Something humourous about a bunch of guys running around in bizarre costumes making weird high pitched squeals about Blood Red Heads on Fire, and Mighty Penus Lasers. Completely nonsense stuff, but it beats Fred's band by miles.

Hmmmm, I would have to recommend Buck Tick. You can easily find some videos on youtube.com. Also Metronome (granted, you might not like them; I didn't at first xD). Both of these are Japanese rock bands 3nodding
