It's here, it's here !!!! Finally after all those years Dark Dawn is here with a so reincarnated Alex and daddy Isaac. wink
But why do we love the series so much, fanboys and girls are already killing reviewers who are calling their game mediocre (IGN anyone?) So tell me what made you love the game so much and what you're expecting from Dark Dawn.
For me Golden Sun will always be the best RPG ever, not because it had the best graphics (although they were great for the GBA), not because of the battlesystem or any category reviewers like to split the game up in but simply because it was the game I enjoyed the most. I love it because after 6 years it still is as fun to play as it was back then. It may be old school but it's good old school and there is nothing wrong with backtracking, certainly if thinking forward brings you FF XIII xp
For me Golden Sun introduced me to a world of history, I loved the story and when I looked things up there was always another story behind every village, summon or even weapon. Now 6 years later here I am at the university studying history because a game whee , maybe not the most common way to get into it but I'm still very gratefull to Golden sun for opening up a world full of endless stories I can enjoy.
Now what made you love Golden sun just so D*** much blaugh

1. The fact that it has great puzzles that confuse me sometimes. 2. It has a great battle system. 3. It has great characters with great bacgrounds. 4. It has a WONDERFUL story in the first two. 5. It has funny parts, sad parts, and serious parts.
Just to name a few. Im going to Gamestop early tomorrow to be the first one in Apple Valley, Ca to own a legal, english copy of this game. I've had this preordered for a few months now.

I believe it was the first REALLY EXCEPTIONAL RPG that I ever played, and the 2 times I sold my copies of GS and GS:TLA, I regretted it instantly (thank GAWD I have my copies back.)
Truthfully? The epic storyline, amazing graphics (thank you Camelot softworks!), and high use of Greek, Egyptian, Scandinavian, and Arabic (Djinn= demon/ 'genie' in Arabic myths. :p ) really helped set the series apart from most other bland, generic games out there, and got me hooked from an early age (I think I was.... 10? 11?)
So... Golden Sun is what made me the hardcore RPG gamer I am today.

I would have to say: 1. The battle system. I enjoy turn-based battles and the inclusion of the Djinn/Summons is interesting. 2. The puzzles. Who doesn't love puzzles? 3. The mythology and real world references. I enjoy looking them up, and discovering more about them. 4. The world. They put a lot of detail into Weyard, and it's fun exploring every single nook and cranny, reading every mind, looking in every bookshelf, every oven... 5. The graphics. Self-explanatory. 6. The story and characters.

My reasons for loving Golden Sun?
Well, much of it can be boiled down to the fact that it is unique. The plot setup and characters on their own aren't anything to write home about, but the world of Golden Sun, combined with the amazing quality of graphics and music, gave the game and everything in it a unique flavor that no other series possesses. And it's a wonderful flavor. Weyard feels like a world, full of cultures, people, mythology, conflicts, and so much more. This is amplified by the puzzles in the game, many of which involve manipulating actual concrete things in creative ways, rather then lever puzzles or something mundane. In Golden Sun, things move and have impact. The Battle System is not only simple to pick up with a mechanic that is simple, yet unique to the series (Djinn), but it is colorful, complete with lovely visuals and a variety of different attacks and ways of getting things done and blowing s**t up. The battles, as well as the puzzles, can be challenging at times, but the challenge is necessary to make you feel like you've accomplished something rather then just passing through doors on your way to the ending.
The game's atmosphere makes everything that much better for me. I do love the plot and the characters (simple yet varied and well-written, with emotions of all sorts. My favorite kind of plot), but it is the atmosphere which makes it really stick out.
I don't have Dark Dawn yet, and I don't think I've posted in this guild for a year or something, but Golden Sun will never loose its luster in my eyes.

I personally loved the modifications I could do to my class just by giving them certain Djinn. Opened up an entire world of customization. And they only improved that with the second one. I mean, making it so you can only get the final summon if you gathered them all from BOTH games? So many poor lil players who missed out. Ah well

I love pretty much everything about Golden Sun! xd I love the use of djinni, using psynergy for the puzzles, the graphics...pretty much everything. I can't wait to play Dark Dawn! My sister got it for me for christmas, so I'm not allowed to play it until then.

The World Ends With You is my favorite DS RPG, but I'll say why Golden Sun still rocks my socks.
THE GRAPHICS. O. M. G. Seriously, my eyes have an orgasm every time I watch one of those beautiful summons. DELICIOUS.
It's got perfect pacing and spacing, with the exception of the West Ocean in TLA.
It's not just the simple might-and-magic formula that so many have used over the years.
The puzzles are actually difficult sometimes!
