This announcement is about a Gaian attempting to phish for passwords.
In a separate guild, this was the latest announcement. I think it sums up perfectly what I'd like to announce, so here it is. Quote: I have recently had some Gaian by the name of killerxknight try and steal my information along with a few other people, ie password and screename, basically he sends you a 'Hi how are you comment' and hidden beneath it (visible only when you delete it) he has a phishing pop up that will basically say 'Gaia error, password and screename needed for varification of profile' or something. As you know, Gaia will not ask you personally for your password so do NOT give it to him, instead report the message and then delete it off your page so your friends don't believe its you. I just wanted to give you all the heads up, because I would hate for anyone to lose their items =) Thanks for listening -Hatter To clear it up, delete killerxknight's comment so you stop getting the pop up if you ever get it. I've never seen this kind of phishing technique before now, but hopefully it doesn't work on anyone. I actually received the exact comment spoken about on my own profile, so it's nearby.
Thanks all. :3

There was one time a vice captain in a crew I was in was hacked. Sent out bogus announcements and everything. Everyone else in the guild was advised to use low-priced items on their avatars so they'd be less likely to get hacked. People are evil sometimes.

That's sad. gonk Yeah, I mean it's not the end of the world if something like that happens. It's just..... really annoying. I don't know why people find it so amusing, or worth their time to hack sites like this. Can't they be more productive with their time? Just a thought... >.>

It's the end of the world for me if someone hacks my account O_O I spent 110$ dollars on cash shop items seriously... well actually about 35$ of money I spent, the rest was a gift, but I don't want to loose the items I rightly purchased and earned playing zOMG and selling stuff I won.

This isn't my first account personally, because somebody hacked my other account and just changed my password and set the email to theirs. It really sucked. I had 180,000 gold and an aquatica, but now I can't get it back. I really wish I could find a way to get those back. (I spent months trying to get the money for the aquatica)

Just yesterday I had someone give me a link that was supposed to give me a Gaia giftbox to open. (had an expensive item in it) I kept trying to open the box, but it would send me to the page that makes you re-log into your account. I gave up, but afterwards noticed that the site in the link was fake. it was NOT Gaia, though it sorta looks like it at first glance. In the end, I changed my password twice, and sent all my money and expensive items to my other account. sweatdrop
