Thousands of years ago, a kingdom once stretched across the entire continent, now called the Old Empire. The people practiced Deep Magic, magic that comes from the very roots of the world itself. They could move mountains, parts seas, and even slow time. However, they simply vanished one day, leaving behind their magic and ruins. Random portals can open up and suck people up. Wild Magic roams free. They did leave behind one artifact beneficial to today’s people, the Portal of Winds, found in Thyvia. As of this day, no one can even tap the tip of Deep magic, though that might be a good thing...

Today's Nations:

The Northern Barrens is massive tundra at the northern end of the continent. Its people are similar to Eskimos. Their magic is manipulation of the weather. They happen to be VERY family oriented and you can find up to four generations in one house. Buildings are made either of ice or the ruins of Old Empire buildings. The capital city, Haven, is the only Old Empire city still standing. The Northern Barrens was once home to the capital of the Old Empire and as such, wild magic roams free. Its people are called Northerners. Its leader is The Womanly Boner.

South of them is Thyvia. Their magic is pure arcane, making them the most versatile. Thyvia is the unofficial head of the Eight Nations. Also in Thyvia is the Portal of Winds, a massive gateway that can teleport a person to any Nation's capital city. The people and government are similar to the Roman Empire, with three leaders. Thyvias is the capital. Its people are called Thyvians. The leaders are played by Lord Redtail Rathan.

East of Thyvia is Necrolaen. Necrolaen was the site of a massive battle thousands of years ago, making the entire nation a graveyard. As such, one may find ghosts. Some of them are singles...others, you can find entire armies still battling. Necrolaen is the only place where Shadow magic (Necromancy) is allowed to be practiced. Necrolaen is allied with Thyvia, to the point where Thyvian Battlemages are garrisoned along its coast. Necropolis is its capital and Shadowing Death is its leader. Its people are called Necros.

West of Thyvia is the Haemililion. The Haemililion is a pleasant marshland, similar to the Florida Everglades. Everyone in the Eight nations vacations there for the climate and the people. The Haemils are similar to the Southern people of the United States. There's always a spot open at the dinner table and a stranger is simply someone you haven't met yet. Their magic is plant-based (Manipulation of plants). If the entire continent went to war, the Haemililion would be untouched. Its capital is Evergreen and its leader is Emeraldpoor


South of Necrolaen is Sarlrilie. Sarlrilie is a jungle with trees that shoot thousands of feet in the air. As such, the Sarls live in cities constructed in the treetops. The Sarls stand an average 6 feet and are similar to Kenyans. The Sarls are also the world’s greatest and most feared melee warriors, to the point where they get hired out as mercenaries. Their magic is shamanistic mixed with voodoo. Its capital city is Bedlam and its leader is Havok SIlver Wolf.

South of the Haemililion on a peninsula ringed by massive mountains is Ranaes. Ranaes is grassland with a large river and lakes. The Ranae are nomadic tribal horse herders, following the intelligent horses of the plains and caring for them. Their culture is similar to the Native Americans of the Great Plains, following the bison. The horses of Ranaes are larger and stronger than your average horse, with intelligence almost that of humans. They also have feathers instead of hair with colorations of birds. Their magic is animal based. They have no capital city; instead have Ten Tribes, each with a Chief. One of the Chiefs is Great Chief. The Ranae have no military, as the mountains seal them off from invaders. Its leader is Miera42.

There is a small strip of arid land south of Thyvia called, unimaginatively, the Arid Lands, where farmers grow foods needing a drier climate. It is not considered a nation, but is vital.

South of the Arid Lands, touching the Haemililion, Necrolaen, and Thyvia, is the largest nation, the Southern Wastes. The Wastes is a massive desert, similar to the Sahara. Its people, called Southerners, are similar to Arabians. Think the Disney animated movie "Aladdin" as well as the story of "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves." Their magic is song based, meaning they sing their spells, and they worship djinns. The capital city, Oasis, is home to the largest structure in history, the Sand Tower, a tower that stands a literal mile high in the air, made entirely out of sand. The Southern Wastes is also home to roving criminal bands, as a man can lose any and all law enforcement organizations in the Wastes. Its leader is [Vacant]

And to the east of Necrolaen, out in the Great Blue, is a volcano island called Vastros. Its people, called Vastrons, are cannibalistic pyrokinetics, with architecture similar to the Aztecs. Vastros is hostile to all Arcaneos, to the point where they once invaded and conquered half of Necrolaen. They were beaten back by a combined force of Necrolaen and Thyvia, which explains the Thyvian Battlemages on the coast. Vastrons do not eat their own people, instead raiding all coastal nations for prisoners to eat. Its capital city is Hell and its leader is [Vacant].
